They are home!!!
They just couldn't get enough of Grammy, giving her a massage or just cuddling on the couch.
A mission is long, very long. It was worth it to have them go and work for something that we all believe in. We are so glad to have them back!
The waiting game
My Mom and Dad have been on a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints for the past year and a half. We have missed them more than words can say. We know that what they have been doing is important and worth missing them. They are done now and have been driving home for the past few days.
When the kids got home from school everyone got together to wait for them. We decorated the drive way with sidewalk chalk and waited and waited and waited. We were so excited!!!!

9/11
In 2001 Rob was in the Navy, they had paid for his dental school, so we were paying them back. We lived on Camp Pendleton in California and really loved the area and our friends there. We had three sweet kids and Price was in kindergarten.
Rob went away for some training for about 6 weeks. I don't even remember what kind of training it was but it put Rob at the top of the list. For the following two months after training if the Marines of that area were suddenly deployed, he would be the dentist to go with them. That didn't worry me at all. I was talking to my sister about it and she asked if Rob would end up getting deployed. My answer to that question still kind of haunts me. I said, laughing, "Only if we break into war in the next two months."
It is almost hard to remember how invincible our country seemed back then. How "rich" everyone was and how life just seemed to be a breeze.
The morning of 9/11 I was getting Price ready for school, Rob had been home from his training for no longer than 2 weeks. I turned on the TV. I never turn on the TV before the kids go to school but for some reason that day I did. At first I thought it must be the anniversary of the bombings at the Trade Center and they were just replaying it. It took my mind a few minutes to comprehend what was actually going on. When I realized that this was real, in our country, and that it was happening right now all I could think was, "Only if we break into war in the next two months."

Big Bro
I might get in trouble for posting this picture. But the fact is that Price is a really good big brother. He is the big brother I always wanted to have. He started reading this book to Eliza and then all the older girls joined them.
I love Eliza's smile, she knew something extra cool was going on.

Random Conversations #26
Me: Laney, it's time to get up
Lane: Arghhh
those two lines repeated a number of times
Me: Lane it's Friday!!! No school tomorrow!!!
Lane: That's pretty good.
Me: You don't have to go to school on Monday either
Lane: Why?
Me: It's Labor Day. Instead of going to school you get to stay home and work ALL DAY LONG!
Lane: Hey, I don't care, it is still better than going to school.
