Field Day

Eliza has grown up going to field day with me to watch her brothers and sisters.  

This is the very first one of her own.  She was soooooo excited!!!

1st place!!!

Random Conversations #83

Eliza (singing at the top of her lungs):  "If I die young bury me in satin, lay me down on a bed of roses  (pause)..... send me away with the words of a love song."
Cause I don't want anyone to sink me in a river.

Her Answer

There was a pack of starbursts in our front yard with a string attached

At first we couldn't tell what the string was attached to.

Then we followed the string to a tiny dot of color in the sky. 

 (it is in the middle right side of the picture below)

BALLOONS! 

It took a surprisingly long time to pull them in.  

Price was fighting the trees in the neighborhood and the wind that would help sometimes and sometimes not.  And those balloons were attached to tons of string!

Price has a date to the Prom!

Really great job Whitney!  So cute!

Me: (singing) "What doesn't kill you makes you"
Eliza:  "stronger, live a little longer"
Me:  No!!!
Eliza:  What?
Me:  I didn't want that song stuck in my head
Eliza:  Well now you made it stuck in mine.  "it doesn't mean I'm lonely when I'm alone.  What doesn't kill you makes a fire burn a little brighter..."

Prom?

It's happening, he's growing up.  

Price asked his friend Whitney to go to the Mormon Prom with him.  They both turn 16 on the same day, just a week and a half before the dance.  Perfect timing!

He put puzzle pieces inside some of these balloons and she had to find them to put them together and find an invitation to the Prom!

Hope she says "yes!"

Basketball

Sydney's basketball team is 4 and 0.  

Sydney is a blocking rebounding machine!

Battle of the Books

The sixth grade at our school holds an annual Battle of the Books.  They break up into teams and read 6 books and every 2 months they have a big competition where they answer questions about those books.  Marley's team is in second place after three battles!  The top 5 teams compete in a final battle in a couple of months!

Eliza:  Is it true that there are such things as miniature babies?
Me:  What do you mean?
Eliza:  Laney says that babies that are born too early are miniature babies.
Me:  Oh, you mean premature babies.  Sometimes they call them premies.
Eliza:  I think that is what Lane said.
Me:  Why were you talking about them?
Eliza:  We were just talking about things that Omlet could bite the hand off of.
