it's Wednesday. why not post a blog entry?
if you had to rate yourself on whether or not you were a heavy sleeper, what would you say? i would have put myself at a 3 or 4. i thought i would wake up pretty easily if the need arose. well, apparently I'm up to a 8 or 9.
last night, or should i say, in the wee hours of this morning, someone came to our apartment at 3:00, ringing the doorbell and looking for someone named Dave. i dunno, maybe one of my roommates had a bunk-mate named Dave last night. :)
the doorbell woke them both up, they went downstairs to see what was going on and on the other side of the door was a guy, smoking a cigar, looking for Dave. (yes, jenny kept the door bolted)
When they told me about it this morning it was kind of funny, but not, you know?
Emily got up because she thought it was jenny coming home and jenny got up because.....? I'm not sure. but I'm glad i didn't get woken up. i think i would have had some nasty words for that guy.
so anyways he just said that his friend Dave used to live there - which i don't buy because girls have been living in our apartment for YEARS. so i am going to give him the benefit of the doubt and say that he probably just had the wrong apartment. after all, all of turnberry looks the same to an outsider, especially at 3:00 in the morning. or maybe i should say - all of turnberry looks the same to a drunk outsider at 3:00 in the morning, especially cause he's drunk.
good thing I'm moving home this weekend - i won't have to worry about a cigar-holding man coming to my parent's house at 3:00 in the morning looking for Dave. and Dave - wherever you are - shame on you for moving on your friend without telling him!

watch out for "the huggers"
the story i am about to tell you is not a laughing matter.
this is a true story - i couldn't have made this up if i wanted to.
if this ever happens to you - just play along and get out of the situation as fast as you can.
Friday night isaac and i went to our local Chili's restaurant to enjoy a night out with good food, good company and good times. well, no longer had we sat down and placed our order with our ever-so-helpful waitress when a group of people next to us were being shown to the table next to ours. i must have been staring or dozing off or something because as they were all settling down, one of the ladies came over to our table and said to me "you look like you could really use a hug. can i give you a hug?" now, imagine my surprise when she said this. i had no idea who she was or what her motives were. VERY WEIRD MOMENT. so, i said "are you serious?" and she said "yes. you just look really bummed out or something and i want to make sure you have a good night. so i want to give you a hug." well, i looked across the table at isaac and his eyes were pretty much falling out of his head because he was trying not to laugh. so i stood up and this lady out of nowhere gave me a hug. and then the best part was that she turned to isaac and asked if she could give him a hug, too. so he had to partake, also. and he said "sure. can i ask you your name first?" and she said "yes, it's Martha".
now, here's the funny thing - after this happened, isaac and i couldn't talk about it because their table was so close to ours that we just had to act natural, like we weren't freaked out by them. and of course, the other tables around us had all seen what had happened. weird.
well, as the night at chili's went on, these people would randomly get up one at a time and then come back and tell the others about the people they had just hugged. so...after awhile i decided that they must not be all there because of what they were doing. one of the guys tried to hug a waiter as he was walking by and the waiter flat out told him that he wasn't into that kind of thing and it really freaked him out that he was trying to touch him. priceless.
so - isaac and i decided that the group was so random and they were behaving oddly enough that they were either a group of people who were doing some sort of group therapy or they were just plain weird. who knows? i just hope that i can go back to chili's after this.

our trip to lake powell
last weekend zane and i went to Lake Powell with brigette, justin and the boys. it was awesome. weather was perfect, water was fantastic, and the car ride with zane was......fun.
for those of you who've never been to Heaven, sorry, i mean Lake Powell, i'm sorry for your loss.

5 hours in a car alone with zane........there are worse things in this world. at least he is a VERY entertaining person.

anytime you are on the road to Lake Powell, this is a good thing to see in the middle of the desert - it means you are almost there!!

"where is my queen to sit beside me?"

just chillin

zane - move! you and your hair are blocking my scenery

"come on, do we look like brothers, or what?"

the next generation of skiiers
Kaden having a go

carter skiing

Kye, one day you'll be as good lookin' as your uncle zane

let's go climb that rock.....

aren't rocks so much fun to climb?

my sister's boys

hey dudes!

on this boat....anywhere will do for a nap

Kye was out like a champ

yes, winter clothes are a necessity when boating in the early morning

oh, don't worry about the kids, they'll recover from being woken up at 7:00 am to go skiing.

the blessed boat dock

ahhhhh....mazing!

me and my sister-dear

yes, that is me, trying to ski

i'm just doing my part to have clean hair....in paradise.

....must....concentrate....

what? life is hectic? huh? i don't comprehend that....
well, thanks to all of you who left a great message after i chastised you all for not keeping up on your blogs. and yes, you guessed it - i succumbed to the slacking virus, also.
first of all - props have got to go out to Lagoon for a day full of fun. cause you know, it's what fun IS! Isaac's work had their lagoon day on Saturday so we jumped aboard the 'ol motorcycle and drove up for some fun. little did i know i would be riding some of the rides by myself. after 3 or 4 rides, Isaac got sick and had to sit a few out. i went on the new ride Wicked and Colossus by myself before i felt bad about leaving him on the park bench in the shade. so we joined up for the lunch with his co-workers and relaxed in the shade for a little while. then i talked him into going on a few more rides, wicked again, and then we had to leave.
later Saturday night we joined up with his family for his grandpa's 80th birthday party. they went with a Hawaiian theme for the party and it was fantastic! when we walked into the back yard, after getting lei'd, we thought we were just joining everyone in the yard for dinner. little did we know that they had gotten a Hawaiian singing group to come and sing for us during dinner. it was so sweet! we sat and ate really good Hawaiian food and listened to some bee-utiful music. they took requests and even humored us by singing melee kaliki maka, which as most of you know, is the Christmas song. it was great!
well, that is today's update.
hope you enjoyed this edition - and the new layout of my blog.
kinda crazy - just like life is.
