the weekend....almost another "death march"

this last weekend isaac and i went with his whole family to spend the weekend at his brother-in-law's family cabin. it's up by where the Earl family cabin is, but this one is newer, bigger, warmer, etc., etc., etc. there is still a lot of snow up there so we had to park our cars and snow mobile into the cabin. well, we got there and found out that the furnace had blown up so we wouldn't be getting any heat all weekend long. bummer. started feeling like another "death march" to me. no heat, no indoor plubming....no heat....
we aired the cabin out for awhile, breathed in a lot of leaking gas, and went about our evening. eventually we realized that the gas was still leaking into the cabin from where the pipe comes in from outside, where it connects to the propane tank, and jason (isaac's bro-in-law) went and turned it off.

we spent the day on saturday relaxing, reading books, riding snow mobiles and eating a LOT of good food. all in all it was a great weekend and we all were quite toasty warm when we went to sleep.

i am one loyal listener -

a person can only be so lucky!!
last night as i was driving home from having gone to school and done a crappy job on a presentation, i was listening to my favorite easy-listening radio station. they were having a give away for tickets to a concert and i thought "what the heck? i'll try to call in. i never win anything and i'm one person out of thousands in the valley listening so i'll just call just to see what could happen". well, i called and i won! so isaac and i will be enjoying Air Supply at the Peppermill in Wendover next weekend. AWESOME!!!

Isaac went skiing and threw up again.
i ran errands and did stuff at home.

that night we went out for an late lunch / early dinner, went shopping for a few new books, and went home and watched a chick flick. then we made chocolate covered strawberries,

then we finished our lessons for Young Women's and Young Men's the next day.

it was a great 1st Valentine's Day we spent together - nice and chill and spent at home.

this weekend we got together at my mom's house to celebrate Kye and Lori's birthdays.
it was fun to be together once again.

Keyan's birthday party -

Monday was Keyan's birthday. he turned 6. i can't believe how old he's getting. i remember when he was born and i flew over to Denver for his baby blessing.

to celebrate his birthday, the whole family went ice skating at an outside rink together. it was so much fun!!! we were almost the only ones there and they had music playing and it was great!
afterwards we went to brigette and justin's for cupcakes and ice cream. it was so fun to spend the night together as a whole family.
