the story...

sorry to have kept you all in suspense. i hope the wait has been worth it.
i know the following pics aren't that great - but they're all we've got.
and yes, i did know the proposal was coming. isaac and i had started making plans a few weeks before, but hadn't told anyone. i love dirty secrets.

so - the adventure weekend started friday night. i went to Fat Cats and to celebrate Lisa M. Cookie's birthday. she had invited a bunch of girls to have dinner and celebrate with her. it was so fun!!! we ate pizza and then bowled. good times all around (happy birthday week after your birthday, Lis!)

when i got home late friday night, as i was walking up to the front door, i could see that there was a light on in the basement, where my room is. so i got suspicious. isaac had told me we were going to go have our "enagement / proposal extravaganza" on saturday, but i thought - maybe he's going to surprise me toinght! so i opened the front door at home and could immediately smell roses. come on girls - don't act like you don't know what that smell is. i went straight to my room and voila! there on my dresser were these beauties.

my dad had gotten these for me and wrote a very nice note for me. i am such a lucky girl! all night long while i slept i could smell roses. it was so wonderful. (on a side note - notice what time my clock says next to the roses. yep, that's in the a.m. that's what time i was awake on saturday morning, getting ready to go for our day of fun to get engaged).

well, isaac picked me up on the motorcycle around 7:30 and gave me a rose. that was #1. well, during the next 8 hours, we made 11 more stops at places that had meaning for us and at each stop he gave me a rose and told me why he picked that place. i won't go into details here - cause the places won't mean anything to you readers, but they were great places for us cause they had lots of memories. it was nice and fun to be with him all day long. we rode the motorcycle the whole time, so needless to say, it was a long day, and we got tired. the last stop was up at Alta in little cottonwood canyon. we had gone there a few weeks ago for a picnic dinner date and he told me that's where he realized that he wanted to get married. so that's where he propsed. it was great! he got down on one knee and dropped the ring in the dirt and we were both tired and blah blah blah.

well, lots going on. here's just a few things.

we celebrated Troy's birthday last night with a family dinner at brigette & justin's house. happy birthday big bro!

i gave troy a headlamp for his birthday. sorry the pic is so dark - it really was funny when zane said he looked like he was ready for the army because of the color of his shirt and him wearing the headlamp.


the other night isaac and i were reading the newspaper, looking for the movies listing when lo, and behold, i found this ad in the newspaper. after a closer look....


you'll see that if you want to submit a recipe, you should submit it to a "jsheetz@templesquarehospitality....". well, "jsheetz" if you are out there - bravo! i wish i could get my e-mail address listed in a newspaper article.

and finally....a story from home. it's been great living at home again. and this morning i realized yet again how great it is. i woke up while it was still dark outside to get ready for work. by the time i got out of the shower, it was still dark and cold - especially cause I'm in the basement now. i was trying to think of ideas of how i could get my room and bathroom warm when i remembered - i have a sauna light in the bathroom!


so i flipped the switch and voila! immediate warmth! it was so nice and cozy in my bathroom after that. so much so that i didn't want to go out into my cold room. but alas, work was calling and i had to finish getting ready. you better believe I'm looking forward to tomorrow's getting ready so i can be warm again.

one day - one of my nephews will be a pro athelete.
i mean, come on - can't you just see Keyan tackling with the rest of 'em?

but either way - he is a stud. i wish i had the energy this kid has.

i just feel like posting about 2 things today.

#1 - how great my mom is. this morning she came down to wake me up to see if i wanted to go walking. but i couldn't. i went to bed too late last night and couldn't get up early enough to go. BUT - that's not the point of this story. so i got ready for work and went up to pack my lunch and get breakfast. and what, do you ask, was my mom doing at 7:30 in the morning? she was out working in her garden, picking tomatoes! and she was nice enough to share them with me - to share with my co-workers. my mom's garden is amazing - every year we get so many great things to eat out of it. i love that my mom takes the time to garden. what a blessing for me!

#2 - last night Isaac and i did nothing. do you ever have those nights? well, let me clarify - we did do stuff, but it was fun stuff and we didn't have to follow any plans or be strict with our time. he picked me up on the motorcycle, had brought me flowers and a favorite dessert of mine, took me to get dinner, and we went on a motorcycle ride up to Alta to eat and watch nature. then we went hot tubbing and watched "newsies". it was such a great night! nice and relaxing, and stress-fee. what a great treat from him.

school update -

just wanted to let all my adoring fans know how my first night of school went.
yes, i did survive the sitting-for-5-hours-at-a-time thing.

it actually wasn't as bad as i thought it was going to be and it was pleasant to be back in a classroom again. of couse, the readings and homework and group projects that i was given last night aren't pleasing. but at least you all know that i'll be staying out of trouble because i'll be at home doing homework for the next 3 years.

well, since i don't have kids of my own, i'll brag about the nephews.
yesterday was their first day of school.

this is what a dork i am.
i am now going to post a blog about my gym.
yesterday isaac and i went to the gym closest to our houses - instead of the usual one we go to on Van Winkle. (i like going to that one cause they have a cardio cinema that makes working out a joy).
so, we went to the closer one yesterday to save time and guess what! in the months that we hadn't been there, they had remodeled the whole place and added a cardio cinema! it was such a great surprise to go in there and see that addition. AND - the best part is - this cardio cinema is better than the one on Van Winkle. YAY!! now i can go to the close gym and have a better experience.
o.k. now i'm done being a gym rat.
