i helped a friend decorate this cake for her parent's 50th wedding anniversary party

we got to get out and feel the wind in our hair this weekend on a road trip with lettie and kacee.

the big race -

on saturday isaac and his family ran in a half marathon.
we had to get up at 3:45 a.m. to be to the race by 5:15.
do you all know how dark it is at 4:00 in the morning? dark.

Robin got married!

last night the hubby-bubby and i went to my good friend Brooke's sister's wedding.

after the ceremony and before the party started we had some time to wait.
bad idea for the hubby-bubby and i. we can entertain ourselves for hours - especially if we have a camera to play with.

apparently August 10th is the day to be born!

last night we celebrated Brianna's birthday with a BBQ at my parent's house.

whitta & jordan welcomed their little girl (and first granddaughter on the Earl side, first grandchild on the Fowlks side) to the world yesterday afternoon.

and how did isaac and i end the August 10th birthday extravaganza? well, we went to krispy kreme on the way home, of course. isaac couldn't wait to chug into his chocolate milk.

and what are these you're asking? well, that's the craft project that my mom, chase and i did last week while i was laid up. it's for the festival of trees. we are going to put cat food inside for those pet lovers out there who want to buy their cats a little treat at festival.

my first outing since surgery.
we went up the canyon for hot dogs and s'mores with my family saturday night. justin cut his toe when they went boating on saturday so he and i, the two invalids, were swapping injury stories.

most of you probably didn't know this but i have my own pedicurist. (is that a word?)
my hubby-bubby is so good to me. he humors me and paints my toe nails when i ask. and i figured this was an opportune time. i wanted blue or green - but only had this nice pink color. it's o.k. he did a great job - even put on a second coat for me after i had fallen asleep.
