Lake Minatare Light

 We went to a birthday party at a lake close to home. On our way home we stopped to climb the lighthouse. Here are the kids at the top.

 The stairways were SUPER narrow. I decided that the light keeper must have been pretty trim running up and down those stairs all the time so he would have no trouble fitting in there!

Double Digits

Lillian turned 10.  She was extremely excited about her new roller skates. And all sorts of other perks you get on your birthday.

Lilli has been all about s'mores this year. There was a s'more cake and s'more ice cream.

I had strep throat so it wasn't a day with the usual festivities. But we did take her out to dinner and I managed to get her cake made.

Roses are Red...

 We have beautiful roses in our front yard that bloom all summer. I snapped a quick picture after church one sunday.

And Then They Went to School

 August 17th was the first day of school. It began with the general excitement and freakish early rising.

 Riding bikes always gets everyone excited. Jared is in 1st grade, his teacher is Mrs. Schmidt.

 Lillian has Mrs. Patterson for 4th grade.

 

I should have taken Nadia's picture before I told her she needed to practice a lot more before riding her bike all the way to the school. 

Carmi is in 3rd grade with Mr. Graesser (gray-sir)
