Disneyland or Bust
In order to do our part and help a state in a state-of-emergency, we are headed to Disneyland. I am sure California can use our revenue somehow! See you there in the morning!

Composer Cannon
For Cannons 3rd Bday we had a Star Wars party, so I bought the Star Wars 3 soundtrack. After that, for a year and a half, we listened to it in the car as loud as I would allow (pretty loud). He memorized all the songs and knew which song went to which scene. It was very impressive.
Last year for Christmas, be bought him Nightmare Before Christmas. After he watched it he asked if it had a soundtrack. So, i bought him that. We have been listening to it ever since. You have to love Danny Elfman. What a talent.
Last night he was "playing" the piano and said he was going to write a song. He said he would write songs for my ribbon book (Eclipse) and asked if it had any scary parts. Then he played a scary song. Maybe he'll be a composer when he grows up! I can dream. I really have dreams of him having some creative off-the-wall career.

Halloween for Tanner
We babysat Tanner last night, so Cannon planned a party-for the two of them. First, they were to draw Spider-Man pictures, but Tanner didn't want to do that. Cannon did and I was amazed at how much they actually looked like Spidey, Venom and Sandman. He loves art. He set up his book and drew pictures from the pages. I was hoping to have an artistic kid! I would post a picture, but i'm sure they wouldn't be as dear to you as they are to me.
Next, we made paper skeletons. The one of the two of them is blurry, but their faces are cute.

Trauma and the Tooth Fairy
On Monday afternoon I was resting on the couch watching Oprah, when I heard a scream from outside. I know that scream. I run to and open the door and see Cannon in the driveway with blood gushing out of his mouth. I hurry him inside and get a wet wash cloth. As I have him open his mouth to check it out- I freak out. "Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh." is all I can say as I stand there trying to get under control. I take a closer look and start to cry and freak out which causes him to cry harder and freak out. His tooth next to the front is hanging out and his lips are all cut up. There is so much blood that I can't really see if the front teeth are OK or not. The tooth is hanging there, but not loose and wiggly, just down at least a quarter inch. I see his friends scooter in the road and start rambling that he should have had on a helmet. He whispers, "I'm sorry." Then I realize how crazy I am acting . I rush him into the car (it is nearly 5:00) and speed to the dentist around the corner. I tell him the helmet couldn't protect his face anyway and babble about him being fine until we get there.

The dentist is gone and the assistants find us an emergency dentist (after they recommended going home, cleaning it up, and coming back tomorrow. "WHAT? Have you seen his tooth????" Oh- they realize this needs to be taken care of.) We rush home for his blankie and then to the dentist. . . where we have to wait for forever. But, by then Cannon is in a shock type daze and is just sitting there. At about 6:00 he starts to cry again and ask for Dad and I want to really cry. We get in the exam chair and they check him out, etc. They tell him he needs a shot and then I start to cry as he realizes what is coming and he gets upset. Anyway- No permanent damage was done. The front teeth are fine and will fall out in the spring like normal and the dentist helped Can pull out the tooth. Once the numbing shot kicked in, he was fine. After it was all over, we were waiting for the prescriptions to be written and I ask how he is and he says, "Great!" What? Boys!
The next morning he was so excited that the tooth fairy came and that he had a story to tell at school. No drama or feeling sorry for himself. Just proud of his injury!
I think I freaked out-because of the blood, I didn't know where to take him, his cry was unbearable and a little emotional being prego. I do feel lucky that for such a dare devil, this is his first real injury and it didn't involve broken bones or stitches! I hope I react better next time. And believe me, I know this isn't the last time!

The first picture is of the swelling, the second is the missing tooth space.

Comic
I just reread my post about Heather and was wondering if any of you think that what you write or say is as funny as I think I am? That post really cracks me up. At least I entertain myself.
Room Mom
So, I am room mom for Cannon's class. Like I need another thing to do. But, honestly I feel like I won a prize! I am so excited! I feel like a grown up now, just waiting for someone to call me Mrs.G.... I called every parent on the list and only talked to one live person about the Halloween party. I was nervous, but people are calling back and I am almost set with volunteers.
We have a party at the daycare, too. That is planned, but someone in the main office has misplaced my Purchase Order for the goodies to pass out and I need to get them ordered. So much for being prepared ahead!
I am in charge of the Ward Trunk-or-Treat that night! Just about to get started on rounding up volunteers for that! It is planned, though.
So, Halloween looks like this: Party from 9-11:30 at work, party from 11:55-3 at Can's, Trunk-or-treat that night! Then, trick-or-treat. Party time for me! At least we will be well rested from the 15 hour drive home from Cali the day before!
I was planning on being Raggedy Ann (a big dress to fit a growing belly) but Cannon told me he told all his friends that I am being a witch. Good thing I hadn't bought my costume! Off to the fabric store tomorrow to get started on the witch costume! And I swore I wouldn't let him chose my costume this year- after last years pink Power Ranger get up! What can I say? I love the boy!

It is all Heather's fault
I usually check my email and blogs in the AM before Cannon gets up. I try to not check the blogs because then I get stuck and start running late. Usually it is Heather's that slows me down. So, I am sorry if my hair dries funky and then I can't fix it right. I swear, Tiffany, it isn't my fault.
I was thinking about Heather causing me this problem, that it isn't really about me being too lazy too properly dry my hair. And it isn't a time management issue. It is Heather's wit and crazy life to blame for my sad hair style, or lack thereof. I was thinking this as I finally dried my hair, which actually turned out OK, until I checked the back, but then it was too late. So, thanks a lot for another bad hair day Heather!
:) xoxo

What you have missed
I better go grab my planner, I can't remember past this morning!
LAST WEEK
Wednesday- I was so sick that I stayed home from work. Poor Amberly and Ilse (employees) had to watch ALL the kids alone. Oh well, I was too sick to care. It started the night before and just got worse. In the morning I couldn't hardly function and Cannon noticed. So he said, "It looks like I'll have to make myself breakfast." He got cereal and by the time I offered to pour the milk he already had! Then he made toast and asked if I needed a slice, too. How cute and helpful is he?
I missed Visit Teaching and it was some of their Birthdays- but, my companion said two of them were sick and cancelled.
Thursday- Cannon had a short day, so we went for ice cream at Baskin Robbins and then he went to grandma/pas while I went to the DR. I was there for a test (spina bifida & down syndrome) and got an hour long ultrasound because Fishykat wasn't cooperating. It was great. I tell you, this baby is so darn cute! I wish our scanner worked, got some great pictures. I got this great profile with its lips all puckered and the little button nose! Man, I gotta have lots O' babies, ours are so cute :) Then, picked up Cannon and went back to school for PTC's. I had NO parents. What a waste.
Friday- No School. Cannon played all morning. Ran errands. Went to Silver Lake up Big Cottonwood Canyon for playgroup. We go every year to see the fall colors. It was very nice. The kids threw snowballs, yes, snow.
Saturday- Rainy and cold. Went to gymnastics, made cookies, decorated the house for Halloween, and then toured the new hospital. Cookies: Can loves to cook, so while I mixed the wet ingredients, he mixed the dry. I'd just tell him which measuring device to use and how many and he would measure. He knows all about leveling, etc. It was really fun and a lot faster. Hospital: (for you out-of-towners) There is a new IHC hospital in Murray. LDS is scaling back and Cottonwood is closing. The IMC is at State and 53rd. It is wonderful. They were doing tours, so we all went over. There is a women's center and my DR will have her office right there. Then we toured the main building, which I hope to not visit often! The best is the parking-which LDS lacked. Pretty excited to deliver there.
Sunday: Cannon gave a talk on the Temple in Primary and then it was the Primary Program. Cannon was sad (last year he cried through the whole program) and wouldn't sing the songs, but he did say his line. What a stinker! We buy the Primary CD Clive Romney produces every year, so Can KNOWS the songs. He knew them all. Oh well, at least he didn't cry!
This week-Nothing to note. We did get haircuts.
One day last week while driving in the car Cannon said, "I've been thinking, the reason you look so fat now is because you were skinny before!" Yes, that's right. Thanks for noticing.
At the hospital he asked if I'd have to be "sewed up" for the baby. I said I hope not, explained about C-sections and then tried to answer his question about how the baby does get out. I knew that was coming! My answer satisfied him. I delicately explained that I have a special hole that stretches. What else was I supposed to say? Man oh man.
Well, that's all for now.
Oh- I wanted to metion that when I blog I get bloggers dyslexia and type words crazy. Thank heavens for spell check!
Oh-Tuesday I wore a babydoll shirt and looked HUGE today I am wearing normal clothes and look pretty normal. But, I am running out of normal....
