The things they say

I have forgotten to write these funny things.
*
When I made the first loaf of bread- my first ever in the bread maker- it turned out a little uneven on top. When my nephew Tanner saw it he said it looked like a cow pie. At least it tasted better than that!
*
I told Cannon that I Dad had requested cinnamon swirl bread. He gave me a disgusted look and said, "Sick, cinnamon squirrel bread?"
*
I was talking with a friend on the phone. After I hung up I said, "Man, she is a chatterbox." Cannon asked, "What exactly is a chowder box?"

Yesterday Ryan had a little excitement at work. Thankfully only a little. Another trade dropped a sheet of metal on his head. Cannon is happy (as am I) that " he didn't get brain damage so he can still talk to us." Ryan had the choice of 6 staples or shaving his hair and getting stitches. The Doctor told him to keep it clean and dry. HOW? His job is dirty and it is hot out. Lucky for us he came home early!

Out of the Funk

Don't worry. I feel much better today. Ryan took Cannon on a long walk to McDonald's while Fisher slept. So, I read and relaxed. Then we slept in until 9:00. Tomorrow an overnighter with my aunts and grandma in Park City. Looking forward to some girl time. Cannon is looking forward to a sleepover with Grandpa.

Side note- I am dying to wear a cute summer dress. Too bad nursing doesn't allow it. Maybe that is better since none of mine fit, yet. But, that wouldn't stop me from buying a new one! Maybe a skirt....

The past week

Today:
Cannon making himself a sandwich.

Fisher in his new toys: a bumbi seat and play center. The last few days he just won't lounge or relax. So.... I know he a little young for the center but he is growing so fast. Right now he only sits in them for a few minutes.

Yesterday we went to the Zoo. Tanner sitting on the Elephant. We went to the bird show which was very cool. No pics because it is too hard with Fish. I tried to get one of Can with the bald eagle, but by the time it was his turn the camera shut off. Then, the moment was lost.
The other is from the day before playing at grandmas. Cannon is assembling a Neo Shifter. Do you know about these? Complex. This one shifts again- but is impossible and Cannon just broke a piece trying and is sad and frustrated. I am too because it is new and the toy implies it can be changed but it is too hard to do without ruining it. LAME!!!! Isn't Fish cute looking at Tanner?

BEAR LAKE:
Fish playing. He was so cute and then I got the camera and all he wanted to do was roll over. So, here he is mid-roll. Cannon and I played croquette while Fisher hung out.

A beautiful view from the deck.

At the beach. Cannon and Tanner playing. Fisher- ahh, the beach life.

FATHER'S DAY:
The boys with Kris. Tanner just adores Fisher.
BREAD:
I love my bread maker. I made a great wheat bran loaf and honey whole wheat at the Lake. Today I tried to make cinnamon swirl, but missed the notice to add the swirl. So, I guess it is just sweet white. After this I will try again.
MOODY:
Fisher has been so moody the last few days and Cannon has been really clingy. I feel suffocated. I am right now as I type ignoring Fish crying and keep telling Cannon to leave the room. I don't know what it is, but now I am moody and just want two hours alone. I would settle for time without Cannon. He has been really needy lately. What happened to his independence? I think some of it is Ryan has been working really late and so I don't get any night time relief. (How do you do it, Heather?)
OK- off to try the bread again and then to buy some milk. OH- shoot, I need milk for the bread. Reverse that.

Vacation

I am heading to Bear Lake in a few minutes for two weeks. See you all later!

Happy Father's Day to all.
(We had a nice day but forgot to take pictures.)

Birthday Bash

I am too tired to write a blow by blow with detail.

Everyone thinks it would be fun to share a Birthday with your child.
PROS:
I love him.
Everyone now remembers my bday, too.
Ryan actually takes the day off.
CONS:
So busy doing his stuff it wears me out- not relaxing.
It is all about him-not me!
(that sounds bratty! boo hoo for me- huh?)

I got smart this year and just skipped doing anything for me so there was less to do. Ryan made us breakfast- of MY choice. Cannon had his party at Fairmont pool. We each spent some bday money from Ryan (he was too busy working to shop). Ate dinner at park with Ryans family and had Baskin Robbins of my choice!
Matt & Cannon--Solomon & Tanner

Today Can and I spent a little more of our money.
We were both spoiled and happy.
Want to know something? I spent a good portion of mine on the boys! Silly but satisfying.
Cannon's favorite- remote control car from uncle Kris.
Jen's fav- bread maker

Big ol' Fish!

We went to the Dr today. Fishy got shots :( He is 24 inches and almost 12 pounds.
I forgot the mention he can roll from his tummy to his back! So big!
Cannon is up to 42 pounds.
Jules-I think I saw a pic of Sadie there.

Summer!!

How cute is this? Cannon took these two pics.
Love this smile!

All tuckered out.

We are having a great summer so far. Friday we went to Red Butte Gardens for playgroup. We took Tanner along- but no camera. It is so beautiful there. The day was a little overcast and cool which made for a nice trip. Saturday I cleaned the house, finally! Sunday-went to church. Basically a lot of relaxing. Today I was finally able to work out! So, you see, a great summer so far!

School's out!

Yahoo! School is out!
Esther, Can & Quincy
Gabe, Can, Matt, Quincy, Wilder, Eli and Ms. G. This picture is great of all his friends!
Cannon had a great Kindergarten year. I hope we love his next teacher just as much. It was so hard to think of an end of year gift for Ms. G. I had already given her a Cannon-made mug with coffee and homemade biscotti for Christmas (she drinks LOTS of coffee) and the book Little Smudge for Teacher Appreciation week.
I was out of ideas. We ended up giving her a multicultural kids CD from Ten Thousand Villages (she always has music on during free time). The class was listening to it when I picked up Can!
I hate to brag (then why do I blog? :)) but Fish is so easy to get to sleep. Option A is a tight swaddle and a binkie (which I swore I'd never use but am so happy he likes!) or option B: binkie, lovey or stuffed monkey and his blankie tucked up close to his face. If he is sleepy- these put him out lickety-split!
I got my new swimsuit today. (the pink is cute- but mine is black.)It is an actual nursing one which is cool. It is comfy and fits. But- still not super flattering- or maybe it is what is under the suit that is the problem. I am so happy school is out. Now that I don't have to get anywhere in the AM I am going to start working out...on Monday. With Cannon I didn't fret for about 6 months. This time around I am not so patient.
My mom is getting me a bread maker for my birthday. Any suggestions on a brand? I am considering this Cuisinart.

My boys

Cannon with his Teacher, Ms. G

Fisher cuddling his lovey with his blankie. He like things covering his face. He did that, not me. (He is on the floor of my office.)

A few quick notes

First- Yuck! I am trying to pay my medical bills and it seems like a new one comes every day! We have such lame insurance that it seems like once I pay my deductible- I will be saved a whopping $350! (of course, we really are saved more than that because of what they pay. But, of my portion only $350 is beyond the deductible!) Oh- and that is just me. We have to pay the same deductible on Fisher and his bills don't reach the amount. Boo Hoo for us-eh?
***
Fisher has started to play with his snugly toys- like a lovey and stuffed animals. He cuddles them. I'll try to get a picture of it soon.
***
Yesterday was the last day of kids at work. Today we cleaned it all up and tomorrow I just have to finish grades! Can you say "Teaching Rocks"? I love summer!
***
Lastly- I made the best couscous salad. I'll post the recipe later.
