A week in Words

*I haven't been remembering to take pictures.
*Ah, well. Cannon and Ryan have been spending lots of time together. They went to Transformers without me. How rude! They have been hiking and rock climbing.
*Fisher and I spent Saturday morning at the Farmer's Market. Love that place. Then we went to the bookstore. Love that place, too. It was a lovely morning.
*We went swimming.
*We went to Logan to help Ryan's grandma flood irrigate her land. That was cool.
*I am finally making Fisher sleep in his own bed, there have been good nights and bad.
*I ran out of books and was desperate to read when I remembered that The Host has been next to my bed for a full year. It finally sounded appealing. After the horribly disappointing Breaking Dawn I just couldn't read another Stephenie Meyer. I am enjoying the book. It has a lot of similarities to her other books- dark spaces, wide open spaces/clearings. Pining over someone that actually wants you. A girl that thinks too much and does too little. A girl that always does something rash and gets physically hurt. Wow, that makes it sound like I don't like it, but I do.

Spur of the Moment

Last Tuesday I got a call letting me know my nephew had N1H1 and that we should stay home for three more days. Since we had exposed Tanner on Monday and it was going to rain, the thought of a week at home with those boys sounded too hard. So, last minute Tuesday we went to the lake. I had things to do, but since they all involved going out or needing babysitters it seemed best to go out of town.

Lily of the Valley at the neighbors cabin.

Playing on the neighbors lawn.

Oops, the super frisbee got caught up a tree. Cannon tried to climb the tree, but it was too high. Mom finally got it on a dangerous ladder. Later- Cannon doing his reading.

Playing in the walk path/sand box. How cute is Fish on the truck?
In the sand again. Fisher showing off his buckling skills.

Mmm, ravioli. Sleeping, finally.
So, we went to the beach Friday since it was finally not raining for a length of time. We played swing ball and baseball and then the rain came again. And then hail.

My dad bought Kris a boat for Christmas. They have spent the months since repairing it. Saturday it was at long last launched! The boys were so cute waiting in their chairs. Us on the boat. Doesn't Kris look so happy to have us out there on the lake? They caught a fish later.

Yesterday was finally sunny again. Here is the beginning of our trenches and castles. I love to play in the sand.

Fisher was meant for the slow life. He loves being outside and roaming. He found all the sodas left around. He got into grandpas stuff. He played and played and played.

Thursday and Friday Tanner was sick. Sunday and Monday Fisher was sick. Yay. Of course more happened but I am sure you don't need a minute by minute and more pictures than this.
I can't wait to go back!

Dance Party

Why not embarrass myself? This is what happens when I am left alone with crazy boys!

Wheeler Farm

So, today we went to Wheeler Farm for playgroup. The boys weren't too interested, but did enjoy the wagon ride. Guess they aren't farm kids. We couldn't find anyone else...because we were supposed to meet at This is the Place. Oops, sorry Kristin.

Cannon again

The boys playing before church. We were listening to a kids CD and Cannon thought John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt was so funny. Schmidt, ha ha ha.

I never got a picture of us together for our birthday. A day late is OK, right?

Fisher had to join, too. I told Can he looked funny in this pic with a shrunken head. Weird angle, I guess.
Cannon wanted to know why the speaker in Sacrament was talking about the Tower of Bagel.

SEVEN (and 33)

So, I awoke to some local buildings alarm going off. Still no sleeping in, sheesh. So, I got up and got ready and pretty soon everyone was awake, so we jumped right into Birthday mode. Cannon opened his presents- books, bionicle, sleeping bag, crocs, Bumblebee, & rain jacket. Then, I opened mine-oven mits, ice cream scoop, and a camera! Yahoo, I forgot I even wanted a camera. After, Cannon went up to his room to build the Bonicle and I watched This Old House and Hometime. It was great.
We then went to breakfast at my parent's, which I love to do and which is why we did it! We had about two hours between eating and Cannon's party.
Let the pictures begin:
Tanner helped fill the time by giving Fisher a ride.

Cannon finished the Bionicle.

The weather was still ok and holding out. A little overcast and occasional drops. Ryan and I filled water balloons and set up. Then the wild boys arrived. I was so glad three could not make it. They were all so crazy.
We played some games inside including pictionary, but since only Cannon and Tanner were into it, we moved on to presents and cake.
Cannon requested a blue cake with a dolphin. Ask and ye shall receive.

Blowing out the candles.
Cannon didn't even want cake. Why did I make one, then?
Matt, David and Thomas.

Ooh, my OWN piece!

Squirt gun war---water balloon basketball
Everyone threw water ballons at Cannon and then Matt threw the water.

Then things got crazier with more water guns and Ryan using the hose on the boys. In the end it was a lot of fun. 1 1/2 hours was perfect. 3 friends was perfect. Fisher was in heaven. Cannon just wanted it to end so he could build the legos he got. What a stinker.
You can see from the pictures we had a little sun. As soon as the boys left, we cleaned up and then packed everything to go when...In less than five munites this happened!
There was so much rain it filled the roads and came up onto the grass and...

up the driveway and...

down the sidewalk.
Then is was sunny again. I was so thanful the party had a bit of sun and the cool storm was after. Talk about lucky timing!

Builder Cannon

Cannon seems to be featured less singe Fish came around. So here is a shout out to my #1 big guy.
We modified his birthday list to have less of toys like Bakugans and Bionicles and more of the creative. Soon after Opa called to see what to get Cannon. Yesterday we went to lunch with Omi and Opa and some cousins for our Birthdays and they gave him Tinker Toys to expand his set and Uncle Reed's old Legos. THANK YOU. We came right home and got to work!

Is it bad to have him trained to separate all the parts? It looks neurotic but it really is a time saver.

The plane (which later was enlarged and improved upon.)

Of course the assistant should get a little credit, too.

Hey, how did his picture get in this Cannon post? (I swear I clean my stove front every day,)

No Tinker Toy session ends without swords.

Legos in process.

On my mind

It is summer and I cannot sleep in.
It has been raining for days and days.
I love rain.
We are having an outdoor water birthday party tomorrow.
Tomorrow's forecast is thunder showers and 69.
I hate rain.
My brain is melting- I can't remember all the rules about comas and apostrophes or dashes.
I am out of bread flour.
All I wanted for my BDay was a plane ticket to Cali. I don't think I am getting one.

Fisher's new tricks

Cute and innocent?

Fisher:
Loves to sit at the little table to:
Eat.
Play.
Swing his feet.
Loves to sit on the bottom step.
Pull everything out of drawers.
Find something long and hard (cooking tools, tinker toy pieces, swords) and hit us with them.
Pinch.
Bite! Yes, this is really awesome. We all love a good hard bite from him, little stinker.
Eating toothpaste and lotion.
Really, anything naughty. This he does with a smile while he shakes his head no. Big stinker.

The other day in the car he was drinking a milk in a box- he had to have one because Cannon had one and monkey see monkey do- and he threw it on the floor. It all spilled out, but I forgot he had done it. My car was so stinky after a few days! I cleaned the carpet, but it still stinks.
