I Have a Peanut

Addi went in for her 9 month doctor visit and the doctor confirmed what I already suspected -- I have a peanut for a daughter! She seems to be growing the exact same way Hailee did...up but not out. She is in the 10% for weight at a whopping 16 lbs. and 70% for height. She is so dang cute!!!!! I got the go ahead to start meats and dairy so we will try that now. I think it is funny that on my 4th kid, I still wait for the doctor to tell me it is OK to start new foods.

Lake House Part 1

My brother-in-law Richie has and uncle who has a beautiful lakehouse that we love going to each year for a family reunion. He is so generous to let us all use it. We were worried we would not get to go this year as I had to have emergency surgery 3 days before going, but it all worked out. I am so grateful to Jason, my mom and dad, and siblings for their help in allowing me to go and recover while they took care of the kids. Thank you all so much!

Desperation!

We knew that this summer would be a little harder to get out and do a daily activity with Addi's nap schedule and the kids get stir-crazy very quickly, so we went and bought an above ground pool. The kids LOVE the water and this has occupied them very well. Not to mention that it is much easier for me than having to drive out to mom and dad's to swim everyday. What a good summer investment this was for all of our sanity!

Pinkalicious Party

So we needed something creative, fun, and out of the ordinary to do today with Jason out of town for 10 days. I had seen this idea months ago on a parenting site and just filed it away in my memory. We read the book "Pinkalicious" which is about a girl who eats too many pink cupcakes and then turns pink. We began by all dressing in pink and decorating the kitchen pink. (Brady wore a shirt with a small pink stripe). After that we read the book. We then made a chocolate cake covered in pink icing - which they did all alone, and decorated it with as many sprinkles as the kids wanted. Next we made pink juice and had our snack. We then did jewelry making. At the end of the story the girl has to eat all green things to turn back into her normal color, so we had an all green dinner. It was a lot of fun and the kids LOVED it! They are already asking when we are doing a different kind of color and book party again. Any ideas?

Happy 4th of July

We had a fun 4th of July. We started out the morning with the ward Pancake Breakfast. We then had Kit and Michelle and the kids over for some swimming and playtime. Next we had a DELICIOUS dinner at Nana and Pop's. Mary and Ronnie came down and we all enjoyed a lot of Wii gaming. (That was Pop's Father's Day present). They then all came over to our house for fireworks. Addi went to bed and Megan does not like fireworks at all, so she went on to bed also after a busy day. We sure missed all of the family members who were out of town this year though. It was definatly a smaller group.
