Football Season - Cheering

Hailee is LOVING football season! She so enjoys cheering at the football games and pep-rallies. She looks so cute out on the field! They have had 4 games so far. She says it is her favorite activity ever! We have enjoyed the family support we have had from family members who have come to watch Hailee.

Brady is playing tackle football for the first time this year and is loving it. He is number 18. He has 3 practices a week as well as a game every Saturday, so it is definently keeping us busy. He usually plays the center line and has no fear of tackling nor of being tackled. This is a great sport for Brady!

Brady got his first suit from my parents for his 8th birthday. He could not wait to wear it this Sunday. He looked so handsome in it! He loved it - he kept looking at himself in the mirror! Halarious!!! He even wanted to go up and bear his testimony in it. Saturday night Jason and I took him on his birthday date to get his new scriptures and to Main Event. He wanted brownish/red ones just like his daddy. I got teary-eyed seeing him in his new suit with his new scriptures -- he looked like such a perfect future missionary.

Big Girl Now!

There are officially no more baby things in my house. Last night Addi got a big girl bed. She looked so cute in it! She stayed in it all night and called for me to come and get her this morning. We are looking for a new home for her crib, mattress, bedding, changing table, lots of pink and green baskets, baby girl blankets, and baby toys if anyone knows of someone who is looking for this type of thing. I cannot believe that we are done with the baby phase! My little girl is all grown up. I did have to keep her rocker for a while though so that we can still rock, sing, and read books. I cannot give that up yet!

Empty Nest

 

 

 

 

Addi went to her first day of preschool today and LOVED it! We went on Tuesday to meet her teachers, but today was the first full day where parents leave. I was nervous that she would have a hard time, but no - no tears from her at all; i was a different story though. She even left her lovey in the car (I actually had it in her backpack in case the teachers needed it). She never even got sad all day! Her fabulous teachers are Ms. Sue and Ms. Natalie. There are 8 kids in her class - 4 boys, 4 girls. She loved making new friends. Her favorite things were - playdough, painting, the oatmeal table, playing babies, doing laundry and cooking, building with blocks, dress-up,story and singing time, and playing trains. She really wanted to go outside on the playground, but it was muddy and raining so they played in the gym. She can't wait to go back already! I was there 25 minutes early, parked and ready to go in. I missed her so much! Although, I sure did get a lot done in the 2 1/2 hours. This is the beginning of the empty nest - my kids are all growing up WAY TOO quickly!!!

Today is Brady's 8th birthday! What a sweet, kind, respectful, thoughtful, and handsome little man he is! Brady is a great kid. He is SO good at being a gentleman. He always opens doors for me, helps me carry bags, and thanks me for EVERYTHING! I cannot believe how the past 8 years have flown. It seems like just yesterday that he was the little baby who would not leave on his diaper, always sucked his thumb and had a tag on his nose, and could not get enough food (cheerios especially). Those days are long gone - except the never ending want to eat. I always heard that boys ate a lot, but I had no idea. We celebrated this morning with his choice of breakfast; pancakes and sausage. We then opened presents. He took brownies to share with his class at school. His dad (his most favorite person) went and had lunch with him. We will then continue the celebration tonight with dinner and cake. He is going to take 3 friends with him to the Rangers/Yankees baseball game next weekend for his party. He cannot wait to get baptized in a few weeks. We are waiting until the end of the month so that my parents will be in town for it. He is loving his teacher this year and is playing tackle football, which he loves. He is SOOOOO cute out there in that uniform!!! We are so grateful to have Brady in our family.
