This week, we are beginning our morning Language Arts Center Rotations. This provides a great opportunity for us to give more individualized instruction as small groups with similar strengths and needs work with me or with another teacher or aide. We will also begin our Skills Time, which is a 30-minute time period for the students to enhance their skills in math and literacy. We will be fortunate to have an aide assist the class with their skill practice while I work with individuals who need extra support.
I am looking forward to meeting with each of you this week at parent-teacher conferences!
P.S. Our class was able to get the grant for the 6 Chromebooks which I mentioned in my email this weekend! Thank you for your interest and support in all we do!

Hello, parents!
It has been a good first few days of school! The students have been learning about the classroom rules and procedures, as well as getting to know each other and their teacher. Much of what we have already done has been a review of what they learned in kindergarten. I have also been collecting samples of their work so that we can see their growth throughout the year. I am anxious to see the progress these students will make this year, and I am excited to work with them!

P.S. This week, we will have our first spelling test. We are working with "short a" words. Look for the purple paper which will come home on Monday.
