Cole's First Fishing Trip

Kyle, Jerry (Kyle's dad), Rachel and Julia and I took Cole fishing at Red Hill. We had such a great time. Cole was more interested in the worms than he was the fish!

Memorial Day Weekend

It rained most of Memorial Day weekend, but that didn't stop Kyle. He, his dad and his friend Marty moved Cole's playhouse from our North Street house to our new house. They had to take part of it apart to get it on the trailor. Kyle has been dreading this because he just wasn't sure how easy it was going to be to move this monster that he spent 24 hours last July 4th putting together. He made it look like a breeze...even in the rain!

Cole couldn't wait to get to get in it!

Here it is! We LOVE it! We have this perfect little spot for it in the middle of some trees in the backyard. Cole's favorite part is the tunnel. He climbs up the rock wall on the left, through the tunnel and down the slide. I bet I hear "look mama...I'm in my tunnel" a hundred times a day!

We played outside most of the day so when we came in for the evening, Cole was stripped down to his diaper. I put a shirt on him for dinner but didn't bother with shorts. He added the hat to the outfit. After dinner he told me he needed to potty. We went and sat on the potty but no luck. Instead of putting a diaper back on, I decided to just let him run around without one. His shirt covered him up and I was thinking that he might tell me he needed to go if he didn't have a diaper on. Kyle wasn't so optimistic.

Cole danced around for a while in his hat and red shirt. It wasn't long and I saw "the look." I said, "do you need to potty?" I got a big head nod and he took off running to the one in our bathroom which is the smaller one on the floor (instead of the potty seat on the big potty). I've never seen him stand at the potty before. This is what he did and he had me hold up his shirt. Kyle missed the picture of him with both hands in front of him on the wall. It was hilarious! Anyway, it WORKED! He pottied standing up and was SO proud of himself. He got 2 m&m's for that! To save Cole a little embarrassment later on, I covered up his booty :)

Water fun!

Kyle came home for lunch Friday to find Cole and I in the backyard playing in the water. I just had buckets out and Cole would fill them up and dump them out. Kyle had a better idea...He showed Cole how to fill up his tractor bucket with water and then release it to dump all of the water out. Cole loved it! It kept him entertained for a while.

Nothing like drinking water from a hose :)

Baby's Room

I'm so excited to say that the Baby's room is done! A HUGE thank you to Meme (Kyle's mom) and Jerri Ann (Kyle's sister who was in town this week) for helping to finish the baby's room this week. I LOVE it!

Once the baby is born and we have a name, I'm going to put it under "Baby" in the star...
I'm planning to add a red stripe with grograin ribbon to the curtain valence to bring in some more of the red from the bedding.

I haven't said much about the baby. Guess that happens when you have a busy 2 year old taking up most of your time. Everything is going well. We had a great check up on Wednesday morning. They did an ultrasound to check the baby's size since Cole was so small. I've been going weekly for checkups...they are considering me high risk since I had Cole early. They are estimating that the baby weighs 4 lbs 1 oz at this point. Amazing since Cole was born at 3lbs 15.5 oz and that is 2 weeks from now (I am 32 weeks and had Cole at 34 weeks). We are keeping our fingers crossed that I don't have this one too early. I'm taking it easy as much as possible. This pregnancy feels different so hopefully that is a good sign!

Christmas in May??

Kyle's grandmother passed away last Sunday so we headed to Oklahoma for the funeral on Wednesday. My mom kept Cole all day. When I got home around 6:00 that evening, there was a big box on the front step from Pop Pop. Cole was SO excited! Kyle rode home later with his dad so he wasn't there yet. I told Cole that we couldn't get it out of the box yet because daddy was going to have to put it together. He sat in front of the box and talked about it until bedtime. He kept saying "daddy fix it?"

When Kyle got home, he put it together so it was waiting for Cole Thursday morning. Cole's normal "routine" for work mornings is that we wake him up (yes, we have to wake him up or I will be very late for work) and we let him lounge on the couch and watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse for a little bit. He's like me in the mornings and doesn't move very quickly when he first wakes up. Anyway, Kyle headed to put him on the couch like normal and Cole spotted the "tractor". He was so excited that "daddy fixed it!"

Thank you Pop Pop for keeping us supplied with endless toys! Cole loves it!

By the way, there is a backhoe that goes on the back of the tractor and a winch too. Kyle is saving that for a little later once Cole figures the digger out.

Funny

Yesterday when I picked up Cole from school, I saw on his day sheet that he had pottied in the potty twice! I said (sounding really excited), "Cole, did you potty in the potty?!" He said (with a big smile on his face and excitement in his voice), "uh huh and Macy pooped!"

Touch a Truck

The Junior League had our 3rd annual Touch a Truck a couple of weekends ago. The original weekend was rained out and I was afraid that it was going to rain again, but the rain held off and we headed to Rogers to enjoy the day. I really thought that Cole would love it this year. They have a ton of trucks, cars, motorcycles, etc set up in a parking lot and let the kids climb all over them. When we got there, Cole got one look at "Strike", the Naturals mascot and it was all over. He is scared to death of characters in costume...Santa, Easter Bunny, Sponge Bob and especially Strike.


For the first 45 minutes or so, this is what he looked like...either in Kyle's arms or mine. He even had his knees curled up and was holding on tight with his face buried in our shoulders.


We finally got a smile when he saw a bounce house. Rachel and Julia were there as well as his buddy Crawford. He finally wanted down so he could play in the bounce house and the fun began.

One Night on Dickson

I'm so proud of my little brother. He and a friend of his started a business. Do you remember those Fayetteville/Dickson Street prints that said "Party till the hogs come home" and showed a bunch of bars on Dickson? Well, they decided to create their own because so much has changed on Dickson Street since the original print and none of the places that were popular when they were in school are in the original. They are calling it "One night on Dickson..." because everyone has a story of something that happened "One night on Dickson!"

He's been advertising on facebook and they sold their very first print the other day to someone that they didn't know. So cool! They are going to look into other schools to do similar prints for the popular areas for other college towns. I hope Trey makes big bucks one day soon and remembers his big sister :)

What is Cole up to?

Cole went potty IN the potty 2 times at school on Tuesday!

Cole likes to wear his "underwear" (pull up) even though it's really no different than a diaper...he still doesn't tell me when he needs to go.

When it is time to go to bed or take a nap, Cole says "two minutes" as if he is bargaining with me. It started because I used to say, "okay Cole, you can play for two more minutes and then it's time for bed." Now when I say, let's get ready for bed, he yells "Two minutes!"

I bet Cole says "what cha doing?" 500 times a day. He'll say "mama! shoe" when he needs me to tie his shoe and then when I bend down to tie his shoe, he'll say "what cha doing mama?" He talks constantly! :)

This week he's started saying "I'm excited!" The first time I heard it was after Uncle Trey gave him a bubble machine.

Cole is VERY interested in babies...especially his friend Crawford's little sister Conlee. He's so sweet with her. I'm hoping that it is a good indication of how he'll be with his little brother!

The SWEETEST thing he's done lately is pat my belly and say "come out play baby."

The other day he took a CD out of his CD player in his room and said "what's this mama?" I said "it's a CD" and he said "A B C D?"

Feeding the ducks

Cole and I went to the local cemetary and fed the ducks the other day. He had so much fun and didn't want to leave.

Yes - only Cole EATS some of the bread himself in between feeding the ducks!

Flowers!

A couple of weeks ago I tried to do a little photoshoot with Cole in front of our house. The people that lived here before us were big into landscaping so we have TONS of flowers and plants and stuff that I have no clue about. I wanted Cole's picture in front of the tulips that had bloomed but he wasn't cooperating very well. I got a couple but had to take a picture of the tulips by themselves!

Leaf Blower...

Cole is really into pretending these days. He pretends that everything is a Leaf Blower! Seriously...an umbrella kept him entertained for 45 minutes at the oil change place because he pretended he was blowing leaves. He's used the inside of a wrapping paper tube, a baseball bat, a golf club, you name it, it's probably been a leaf blower. When a friend of mine told me that Toys R Us had a kid's leaf blower in their Home Depot section I had to get one, but when I got there they were out so I settled for a chainsaw. Cole's a big fan of it too!

Where have you been?!

I'm so behind on posting, but it was because I was having issues downloading pictures to my computer. It's all fixed now that I have a new external hard drive. So excited about having a place to store all of pictures now instead of on my work computer.
