Can’t believe I’m 32! I had a great birthday! Started the morning with a 5:15 am workout and then headed to work. I never have my picture taken since I’m usually behind the camera so I made the boys take their picture with me. :) It was the kind of day where I didn’t stop the whole day. Kyle and I had plans for lunch but work was too busy and I didn’t leave the office to grab something until 1:00. After work, we met mom, Trey, Elise, and Grandma Judy for dinner and cake. It was a wonderful day!
It was a BEAUTIFUL day today so we spent the afternoon at the park. I practiced taking pictures using what I learned at my class. I’m pretty happy with how they turned out! I had a few blown out shots and several out of focus but the ones below were my favorite! Heather – If you read this, please send me some tips or advice you have!
These boys are the best of friends. We are finally at the point where they play SO well together and feed off of each other’s silliness. Cade does EVERYTHING Cole does. The other night at dinner, Cole slammed his sippy on the table and said “more milk please.” I shot eyes at him and reminded him that we don’t act like that and we use our manners and ask nicely. As I was saying this, Cade slammed his sippy down and said “more waa-key!” (which is what he’s been calling milk lately). They are a mess!
Uncle Darrick and Auntie Amy gave Cole a science kit for his birthday. He couldn’t wait to start experimenting. The first one was about mixing colors to make new colors. We made black and a big mess but it was fun :)
The boys were so excited to open their Valentine’s day gifts. Cole’s face shows PURE JOY! Cade could have cared less about his gift. He enjoyed the tootsie rolls :)
Uncle Trey came over for dinner and afterwards got to help the boys with their valentines. I made Cole write his name on every valentine for his friends. He kept saying “this is hard work!” Cade enjoyed eating the gummies that we had gotten to give his friends!
I got to take a photography class on Saturday. It was geared toward moms with DSLR cameras that want to learn to shoot on the manual settings. A photographer in Benton County taught it and it was great! These are some of my practice shots. It was tough because we shot most of them outside in full sun with the reflection of all of the white snow still on the ground. We had to play around with our settings to keep the pictures from being blown out (like in the one below of all of us looking at our cameras). I learned a ton and can’t wait to spend more time practicing!
This picture was taken at the bottom of the same “hill” between our house and our neighbors – one in mid-January when we got a few inches of snow and one on Feb.9!

This has been a crazy winter. We’ve already had a couple of good snowfalls, but never expected anything like what happened on February 9th. The forecast was for 3-5 inches. We woke up to 6 or 8 inches and it kept coming…all day long! This first picture is around 7:30 that morning. In total, some parts of NWA got 24inches. I think we probably got about 20 and we were definitely “snowed in” for 3 or 4 days.
