This year the EB decided to send the boys on a scavenger hunt to find their Easter baskets. It was awesome! Cole could READ the clues – (yes he’s reading!) It made the fun of the whole morning last a bit longer.
Poor Cade had to be woken up by Cole because he just couldn’t wait any longer :)

I got back in town the Saturday before Easter. We were supposed to have a busy day that day with soccer, baseball practice and a neighborhood Easter egg hunt but it was rainy and cold so everything was cancelled! The boys and I spent the afternoon dying eggs and playing inside. Thanks to my friend Meredith, I borrowed the cute idea of the Easter bunny place settings and got the table ready for a surprise Easter breakfast the next morning!
I’m a little embarrassed to tell about this one. Kyle’s dad bought the boys a live trap and they’ve been trying to catch raccoons and other little creatures for a few weeks now. With no luck at our house (thank goodness), they moved the trap to Kyle’s parent lot way back by the barn. They’ve caught at least a raccoon a week. The boys get SO excited to go and see what they got. They then spray paint the poor little guy’s tail orange so that they can see if they catch him again. Yes, seriously. Then they prop the trap up on the tree like this and let it go. Most of the time it scurries up the tree and then down and into the woods. The boys LOVE it and have even invited friends over to come and watch. Yes, we’re rednecks :)
You have to get a bit creative when it is freezing outside and you’re home all week for Spring Break!
I drug Cole out of the house KICKING AND SCREAMING literally when Cade wanted to go see the Easter bunny. Kyle met us at the mall so that he could hold Cole while Cade had a visit.

Cade is a little hesitant mainly because I think he thinks he’s supposed to be scared because Cole is!
Back home safe and sound, we decided to make some Easter cookies. These boys love to make the cookies but never seem to want to eat them (except their fair share of icing).
Our neighborhood park got a basketball goal and the boys like to go down there to play. Fun watching a little one on one with two pretty competitive little boys!

I headed home today for Spring Break with the boys. Cole was out of school all week so I kept Cade out too. Trey headed to Houston to stay with mom for the week. I looked like I must have been gone for months with the bags I brought. Truth is, I had gone shopping for Easter and Spring outfits and needed to bring an extra bag to get it all home. I do enjoy a bit of retail therapy when I’m stressed :) Southwest has the best airline deals and they fly out of Branson now, which, by the way, is the CUTEST little airport you’ve ever seen. So easy to fly in and out of! Direct flight from Houston and an hour and a half drive back home. Kyle took the day off and we hung out in Branson for the afternoon. We ate at Cantina Laredo on the Landing, watched the dancing fountains and played black light mini golf. Loved being with my boys! All 3 of them!
Daddy forgets to specify that he wants BOY happy meals :) I get texts and pictures of the boys daily and this one made me laugh out loud!
After being gone for 12 days (which doesn’t seem that long when you think about it, but in the life of a 3 and 6 year old, it’s a long time!), I came home for a quick weekend trip. I was so excited to get to see Cole’s soccer game (he scored a great goal!) and go to a Razorback basketball game. It was a quick, but needed trip home for all of us!
