Concert in the Park

One of my favorite things about Fayetteville is the concert in the park series at Gulley Park.  Every other weekend in the summer, there is a free concert in park for families to enjoy.  There are food vendors and lots of hippies and we love it!  Last year Cole and Crawford took their guitars and instead of dancing down front with the band, like a lot of kids do, they played their guitars.  They were the envy of all of the kids and looked adorable.  The band thought it was so cute that they gave them a band sticker to put on their guitar just like the real guitarists do.  Cade and Conlee joined in on the fun this year.  Cole gets really into it.  You can tell by the look on his face…it’s all business!  He was definitely “feeling it” tonight! 

            

Cade’s first trip to the dentist

Cade had his first visit to the dentist today. I wasn’t sure how he’d do because he doesn’t like to open his mouth and say “ahhh.” When we brush his teeth, we have to pry his mouth open and force the toothbrush in. The great thing about our dentist is that it is SO kid friendly. So much to look at and do. He loved seeing Nemo in the fish tank, watching scooby on the flat screen and playing the Cars video game…and that was all in the waiting room. Once we were brought back to see the dentist, he got to see Buzz Lightyear on the tv above his chair and got a goody bag when he was done. Love that he wanted to touch the gorilla on the way out. I have to carry Cole past this guy when he comes :)

Fireworks!

 

The boys and I drove to Russellville today for our annual fireworks visit.  We made our first stop to MS Wholesale to visit dad at work.  The boys got a swirl (icy) and enjoyed exploring the plumbing supply house!  Cole’s already decided that next year he’s going to try the orange flavor swirl :)  Next stop, Fireworks building.  It’s hard for me to not say “stand” anymore.  It’s amazing that they now have an air-conditioned building complete with flat screen tvs showing what the big fireworks do!  They even have a sign that says join us on FB!  Wow.  Quality fireworks has come a long way.

Cole remembered just what to do…maybe a little too well!  He loaded up the cart in about 3 minutes.  Cade followed right behind him.

      

“Dancing Man” – neither of the boys are a fan of the dancing man.  Cole remembered it from last year and was talking big on the way down saying that he wasn’t going to be afraid of it this time but did say that even though he wasn’t afraid, he wasn’t going to get close to it!

 

Thank you Pop Pop and Sherry for all of the fireworks!  We enjoyed our short visit and hope to see you again soon!!

Cole’s big plan

Cole had a big plan. A big plan that consisted of (per Cole) “Daddy riding his bike, Cade riding his bike and me riding my bike all the way to the park.” What’s mommy going to ride? “Mommy is going to watch out for that cat!” I was supposed to be on cat duty to make sure that the neighborhood cat that roams the park area wasn’t anywhere in sight. Once we got ready to go, Cole decided that he was too scared to ride his bike in the street and he refused to go. The plan turned into Kyle walking by Cole with a STRING attached to the front of his bike and Cade in the stroller. Cole did great and went all the way to the park, around the walking path and back. He was SO proud of himself when we got home. Hoping we’re conquering his fears just a little bit at a time!

Happy Father’s Day!

I surprised Kyle with a bike for Father’s Day/birthday this year.  I picked it out and saved up money to pay for it so he wouldn’t have a clue.  They delivered it Friday morning and I was completely prepared for the secret to come out (by Cole) before Sunday morning.  Friday afternoon Kyle came home from work and we were getting ready to leave to go eat dinner for Cade’s birthday.  Cade needed a clean shirt and Kyle was trying to help me get us out the door so he asked what he could do.  I told him Cade’s birthday shirt is hanging in his closet so he could get that…well, I completely forgot that the BIKE was hidden in Cade’s closet!  Needless to say, I was the one that didn’t keep the secret!  So happy that Kyle LOVES it and has already taken it on several rides!  Cole is dying for them to go riding together.

  

The boys gave Kyle their father’s day cards that they made at school on Sunday morning.

I’m so lucky to have 3 awesome father’s in my life!  My dad, Kyle and father-in-law Jerry are wonderful to me and my boys!  Happy Father’s Day!

Cousins!

It’s hard to get 4 kids to smile at the camera but I was determined to get another cousin picture while John and Elizabeth were in town.  Here’s the one from Cade’s first birthday a year ago.  Look how much they’ve changed!!

We turned the water on to the bounce house and the kids LOVED it!  These pictures speak for themselves.

         

More from the party

Amy, Darrick, John and Elizabeth drove from Ft. Worth for the party on Saturday morning. Such a long way to come for such a short time but we were glad to get to see them. John and Elizabeth were more interested in the playhouse than they were the water toys and bounce house. Elizabeth wasn’t afraid at all to climb up the ladder and slide down all by herself!

John got shy when I told him to smile so he put the water bucket on his face. so cute!

Love this look on Crawford’s face. Looks like he’s up to something and I bet Cole is right next to him.

Ray Ray and Conlee cooling off! It was hot but it was overcast so it really felt pretty good outside!

Ju Ju playing “shoot ball” with Cade in the new pool from Uncle Trey! This is the one that the boys wanted (Crawford and Conlee have it) but I couldn’t find it anywhere. It has a slide too but with all of the other action we didn’t put it up for the party.
