Kyle’s granny is not doing very well so Kyle’s sister, Jerri Ann, decided to make the long drive from Kentucky to see her and help her parents. We were so excited to find out that Lyla was coming with her! Since I was home with the boys on Wednesday, we pulled out the bounce house for some fun. All of the cousins had a ball!
We haven’t been to the Tulsa Zoo since Cole was around 18 months. The boys love the zoo. Last year we went to the St. Louis zoo. Since summer is almost over and football and hunting season are almost here, we decided to make a day trip to the zoo (and a stop at the Tulsa mall so I could go shopping at the Limited!)
Love this! I told the boys to do what the statues are doing. You can see Cole really thinking about it and Cade is doing whatever Cole does.

It was 100 degrees on pavement so we were a little toasty. Good thing I’d read that there would be water slides so we brought our suits!

What a great day at the zoo!!
We’ve had a project going on at our house for a couple of weeks now. We decided to get rid of the wallpaper in the kitchen – finally! Kyle and I started ripping it down. It came off SO easy. We (he) had the whole kitchen done in just a couple of hours. Now it was my job to figure out what to do next. I normally don’t start a project without a plan. I had no plan for what color I wanted. About 8 paint samples and 100 swatches later, I finally decided on a color I found in a pottery barn magazine – bennington gray. I love it!
While we were updating the walls, I decided to update this picture too. Painted the gold frame black. Looks so good!
This is my new favorite wall in the house! I wanted gallery frames on the wall above (where Kyle’s ripping off the wallpaper) but I wanted pops of red because I have that throughout the whole kitchen. Kyle’s sister was in town so she helped me complete it. Love it!
The boys wanted to paint too. Kyle told me to let them paint the walls after we had the wallpaper down before we painted. They would have loved it. Just not sure that I could explain later to Cade that he can’t ever do that again! They settled for painting the driveway.
Later that night we made cupcakes and decorated them with sprinkles. I’ll be finding sprinkles on the floor for days!
Fayetteville has an amazing public library. Friday morning is toddler storytime. Cole wasn’t interested in going to story time but did want to go play on the computers and check out books. I surprised them by letting them get their very own library cards. Cole chose blue and Cade chose yellow. We picked 10 books to bring home. I didn’t pay attention to which ones we chose and we ended up with a Spanish alphabet children’s book. ha! Great easy way to spend the morning.
