3rd Monthiversary

Can it be?!?! Our baby girl is 3 months old today!

So what is new with her in the past month? Well... she has had her first true... long giggle/laugh. She is almost rolling from back to tummy (she gets on her side and then stops). During tummy time, she finds ways to move herself from side to side and she is making TONS of new noises and sounds...

Oh... She had perfected the art of rubbing off her hair :-) If you look in this picture, you will see hair on top, a line of no hair and then more hair down toward her neck... Silly girl!

Kaytlin's Baby Dedication

Last Sunday was Baby Dedication at church, and we were so excited about it. We have prayed for our little Kaytlin even before we knew we were ever pregnant. During the time I was pregnant, we continued to pray for her daily. Of course we prayed for her health and well being, but most importantly we prayed that one day she would come to know her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Baby dedication is truly more for the parents and family than it is for Kaytlin. Basically it is a ceremony saying that we will pray for, raise her and instruct her in the way of the Lord, and that one day we pray she will come to know and call upon her Savior as her own (because we cannot make that decision for her, she must make that decision on her own, which at that point she will be baptised).
As a parent of a baby, it is so comforting to know that not only do we have a wonderful family excited and willing to help us raise Kaytlin in this way, but we also have a fabulous church family that we love dearly who are also committed to this. Kaytlin... our sweet, precious little girl, we pray that you will some day know, depend on, and love Christ as your Lord and Savior!

With Cousin Jenna, and she was meant to wear this little bonnet for the ceremony, but she was asleep and we could not get it on her... so she wore it for the luncheon we had afterwards :-) One day she will have it as her "something old" when she gets married (even though Jeremy still claims he is going to start the first Baptist Convent.. haha)

This Weekend...

This weekend was Kaytlin's Baby Dedication at church, so some family came in. Unfortunately, she just was not herself. I thought she might just be going through a new stage because she is about to be 3 months old, but I am realizing that she definitely had a touch of what Jeremy and I had the last two weeks. Funny thing is, we really did not realize she was sick (does that tell you how easy my baby is!). Seriously! I mean she was not as smiley and talkative as she normally is, but again, I just thought it was a "new stage". I will admit that she did fuss and cry more this past weekend than she has in her entire life, but even then I would not say that anybody would had called her a "fussy" baby... I am truly blessed to have such an easy baby... but I now feel horrible that I was trying so hard to get her to stay awake, smile and talk when she was just not feeling well. Luckily, today she is already so much back to normal! Smiling and giggling and talking... MY baby is BACK :-)

Why is it?!?!?

Why is it that I am 27 years old and I still have bad hair cutting horror stories. You would think that by now, I would learn to stick with people I know do a good job! So.... today I went to get a haircut because I have not had a chance to since Kaytlin was born. I knew the girl who normally cuts my hair would not be there but I thought, I just want about 2-3 inches off, anyone can do that... right?!?! WRONG! Instead I got a whole new haircut without even asking for it! In fact, I asked for her to cut it to where it was just below the shoulders with a small layer right at my shoulder (so about an inch difference).... what did I get... well layers EVERYWHERE (and with fine hair like mine... that is not good), and well it is SOOOO short. It took the hair stylist 30 minutes just to style it... I have a 3 month old baby, do you really think I will spend that styling my hair? In fact, when I sat down I made a point to say I have a baby and spend maybe 5 minutes on my hair and that include blow drying it, so I do not want a lot of layers (apparently that was not clear enough)! To make matters worse, you have to pay for a haircut you do not want and TIP... why do hair stylist insist on giving you a hair cut you did not want OR ask for? Why do I feel the need to be nice and say thank you and it looks nice (given it is a good hair cut, just not on me)... WHY... WHY... WHY!

Sorry to vent, I am just frustrated!

Unfortunately, daddy caught the stomach virus that mommy had all week long TODAY! So, mommy has been taking care of poor daddy (who has been couch bound)... but I was still all dressed up and celebrating :-)

The other day, I thought Kaytlin looked too cute in her little winter white jumper that I had to take some pictures of her :-) I hope you enjoy them. I enjoyed taking them of her :-)

Chew on THIS!

Miss Kaytlin LOVES to chew on ANYTHING... especially her hand :-) She has begun grabbing her toys and even putting them in her mouth. I cannot believe her coordination at times (especially since she is just 11 weeks old!). She is growing up SOOOO fast!

2nd Monthiversary!

On January 27, 2009- Kaytlin turned 2 months old! She continues to grow and change daily.

We have a big girl. At her 2 month check-up she weighed 11 pounds and 9.5 ounces and was 23 inches long!

I took these pictures on President Obama's Inauguration Day. She was in red, white and blue (you might not be able to tell but there is a little blue in this outfit), for the "big" day.


Then, I love this picture. My dad, her G-Pa, came up to see her one night... look all three (K, G-Pay and Riley) are sound asleep... good job Dad, we cannot even get Riley to sleep...he he... seriously though, Kaytlin-no problem... Riley, well he is a ball of energy!
