Docklands Museum

On Sunday, we headed into an area of London that not everyone visits-nor is it a "must see" tourist spot-however, Jeremy and I really enjoyed the area. The area is called Canary Wharf and it is the one of the business/financial area's in London (the other being the city center of London). This area reminded us more of a down town of any large city, with large sky scraper (some of the tallest in the UK), modern building, shops, etc. Even though it is a main business area, it was beautiful. We are so happy we were headed to the London Museum of the Docklands, or else we are not sure if we would had ever headed out this way.

The London Museum of the Docklands, we had heard was perfect for children, and since it was in the 30's, extremely windy, and snowing, we thought an indoor activity would be best. It reminded me of the Houston Children's Museum. Very interactive. The girls really enjoyed themselves.

Hampton Court

Luckily the girls enjoy looking at palaces and imaging the people's lives there. This past Saturday we popped over to Hampton Court Palace. This is where Henry VIII lived and the history of the Tudor dynasty. We will definitely be back to explore more and especially in the Summer to enjoy the gardens. Gorgeous!

Perspectives

Last week was our 3rd week, here-which to me is hard to believe. The girls were quite happy going along and doing their normal weekly activities that we have established, but momma needed a little variety... so besides nursery time, and our other activities, we were able to go with a friend down to a new city and shop and hang out for a day, and I came up with a scavenger hunt that we did. It is funny, because the London area is experiencing its coldest winter in over 50 years. Every day it is in the 30's, snowing, and some days it can even be fairly windy. Had the girls and I been in Houston, we would had been cuddled up on the couch and invited friends over to play- here, we put on our wellies, winter gloves, scarves and hats, and head out for an adventure. We expected for the weather here to be different and for us to just have to deal with it, and the girls even at 30 some odd degrees this past week, said, "Mommy, it really isn't that cold- just the wind is cold." It quickly brought to the realization, it is all about your perspective and what you expect.

Family Portraits 2013

Well, as many of you know... I ask for Family Portraits every year for Mother's Day. In fact, I don't have to ask, Jeremy already know that is what I want- so we do it. In 2012, I was determined to get my 'dream' photo's... the girls in white eyelet dresses, walking hand in hand at sunset down the beach. Sigh... just dreaming of these pictures makes me so giddy... Well, it was meant to happen, I bought the perfect dresses, and unfortunately, it never happened. So technically, I never got my pics last year. We did take some family pics around Thanksgiving, but not professionally... anyway, with that being said, we could not leave the States without taking Family Pictures. Amongst all the moving, and preparing to live in the UK, I contacted Jaime Anderson from our church who takes photos and she managed to work us in. She did a brilliant job! We LOVE every photo, it will be so hard to choose which ones to print and display in our house. Thank you Jaime!
