Outdoor Fun

With spring weather upon us, we have been enjoying the outdoors together.  Our new favorite activity is geocaching.  With my iphone we get directions to "treasures" hidden literally all over the city and then set out to find them.  Some are easy to find and others are virtually impossible.  The bigger the container, the easier it seems to be to find them.  The fun is the hunt since the treasure is usually just some old trinkets that can be traded for.  We have a bag of trinkets in our car ready to be traded :)  The kids beg me everyday to take them on a hunt.  It will be a regular summer activity for sure!

Another favorite activity of ours is digging for bugs and worms in the garden.  We do this almost everyday, but today was especially fun for a certain little boy.  It rained all night, so the garden was pure mud.  It should have dawned on me that he was up to something considering how long he was content in one spot.  Dallin was covered in mud from head to toe by the time we had to go in for dinner.  Dinner cooled while we headed straight to the bathtub.

Piano Recital #2

 Ashleigh played in her second piano recital this past weekend.  She played two songs, "Guardian Angels" and "A Sweet Melody" which she played as a duet with her teacher.  We unfortunately forgot the video camera, so we will have to remember how well she did by memory.

Little man.  I am having a very hard time catching him without his eyes crossed these days. I am not sure if it means it's getting worse or I am just having bad luck.  Let's hope his birthday pictures coming up will have better luck.  Poor little guy :(

Preschool Trike-a-Thon

Owen took his bike to school last week for his school's Trike-a-Thon set up in the parking lot.  He enjoyed making lap after lap and tried to capture his friends' attention by doing tricks.  He had a lot of fun as evident by his big, genuine smile.

Spring break

We had a lot of fun with a "stay-cation" for spring break this year.  We visited the zoo with Aunt Julie on the first day.

We played monster mini golf indoors.  The blacklights weren't very camera friendly.

We played at our new favorite indoor playground, Jump n Jack's.  The kids LOVE this place.  We are incredibly blessed to have so many fun things to do right in our own backyard.

Not pictured, was fun at the park when the weather was warm, Bad Frog ice cream, a Good Friday party at our house with our friends and a glow-in-the-dark egg hunt, playdates with friends, and lots of eating out!

Easter 2012

 We went to a Easter Eggstavaganza at a local park.  The kids had their pictures taken with the Easter bunny after eating lunch with him, hunted for lots of eggs, took a hayrack ride, rode ponies, and played in an indoor barn playland.

Father Son Conference Trip

 Trenton and Nathan flew to Utah this month for General Conference weekend, a tradition we plan to continue with each of the boys for their 12th birthdays.  When they turn 12 they can attend the Priesthood Session with their dad for the first time, so what better way to do it than in person!  It was a memorable trip for Trenton.

 The golden tickets :)  There were people begging for tickets outside the Conference Center because they are not easy to come by.  We were very blessed to score seats for two sessions for them.

 Trenton loves the mountains.  He has requested we move out West so that he can be by them.  I told him he needs to move out there after he graduates from BYU and then we can visit :)

 The Salt Lake Temple.  The boys were hoping to do some work inside while they were there, but it was closed for Conference weekend.

 The Mormon Tabernacle Choir seats in the Conference Center where conference is held.  The choir for the session they attended though was composed of brand new missionaries from the nearby Missionary Training Center, including David Archuleta!

 Hopefully we'll be sending our children here one day...or at least Trenton because he's on board after having this chance to visit the campus again.

It's been a while...

It has been a while since I last posted thanks to lightning frying our computer and random craziness, but here are a few pictures from the past month.  This is Dallin's first black eye.  He fell while running away from me when I was trying to brush his teeth at bedtime.

 This is the kids new favorite outdoor activity:  taking each other on wagon rides around the driveway.  Dallin loves taking his turn.

We were excited about the Hunger Games movie premier at our house.  Trenton went on opening night with friends and I went the next day with my friends.  Next time we'll have to try to go together.

It is hard to believe it is time for popsicle weather.
