We love Wipeout

Liz and I don't watch much TV but one show we always end up watching (usually online because we never catch it on TV) is Wipeout. This show makes us laugh like crazy. Last time we watched an episode online they had this awesome video of the top 10 wipeouts from the show and thought we would share:

Lovin' and Livin'

Cami is 2 weeks old and she is getting big so fast. We took her to an appointment for one week and she had gained 7 oz in the 1st week over her birth weight! She is still growing and I am snapping pictures to catch each stage. She is so fun and we love her so much, even when she wants to be awake at 2 am!

We went to a park and had a picnic with Scott and Wendy to celebrate the 24th of July, here is JD with the frisbee.

I was trying out the photo editor, but I think I need a lot more practice :)

JD really wanted to finish our nertz game and Cami woke up and was fussing so JD put her in the carrier so that we could finish the game since she wanted nothing to do with the bouncy chair. Incidentally he was winning so he really wanted to finish :)

Jackson, Nicole, and Jenna stopped by Monday on their way back to CA to see Cami. Jackson liked to hold her and point out that she had a nose...

This is a poor quality picture because I took it with my phone, but I caught her sweet grin one morning when I was getting her up and had to catch it quick!

We have been so lucky to have the grandmas here to help. JD's mom came to help out and we sure appreciate her help. Cami is so strong and just wants to see the world. We went to the grocery store and I wanted to keep her covered with the car seat cover in the store, but she screamed until we uncovered it and then she was a happy camper... she just wants to see!

We went to the park to take some family pictures... notice our new picture at the top and here are just a couple more.

more fun with photo editing, she was kinda wiggly during these so I didn't really get exactly what I wanted but these look good with the soft focus :)

Cami's First Week

As a word of warning I put a ton of pictures into this post so I hope you will just understand this is our first baby and so we are a little camera happy, plus they are all so cute how do you decide what ones to post? We made it through week one and I think we are in pretty good shape! Here we are leaving the hospital Monday evening.

JD that night... he is adjusting to the lack of sleep. Poor guy is used to at least 8 hours, he has been so sweet to help me in the night and so patient with me during my breakdowns. He and Cami love to snuggle and put each other to sleep.

Grandma Redd with Cami. She was a life saver and I am so glad Cami came when she did so that my mom could come stay with us for a few days and help out. I really appreciate it! Thanks Mom!

Maria stopped by on her way up to Idaho to see Cami!

We have decided to take advantage of having a baby in the summer and take walks. I have loved getting out for short walks in the sun, it feels good, just very hot!

Bath Time.... what first week post would be complete without it.

She is not a super big fan, but is happy as long as she is swaddled in fleece for the bath, something we do routinely in the NICU.

We decided to try tummy time, let me tell you she is very strong. She is always rearing up her head, so here is a cute example of her proving that all the activity in the womb was exercising those muscles so she could be strong and feisty.

She's Here!

Say Hello to Cami Mckell Egbert! She was 7 lbs and 19 inches long. Liz's labor only lasted 8 1/2 hours which is pretty amazing for a first child. She went from 4 cm dilated to 10 cm in 3 hours and only had to push for an hour. Her contractions started at 6 pm, we went to the hospital at 10pm, and had the baby at 2:34 am.

Turns out the umbilical cord was wrapped around Cami's neck so when Liz would have contractions Cami's heart rate would drop quite low so they had Liz sucking oxygen most of the time. Luckily the delivery was really quick so we didn't have to do a c-section

When I first read the weight I thought it was 7 lbs 4 onces but its really 7 lbs .04 ounces. Who made this weight display?

This was in our room from Liz's coworkers at the nicu. It was a baby cake made from diapers and other things. Thanks everyone, it was very thoughtful

Nicole with Cami. Nicole always points out that Jenna has the same smile in all of her pictures (as seen above) but what made me laugh really hard is if you look at Jenna's smile and Nicole's smile they are pretty identical.

Scott and Wendy came to visit with Ainsley and brought some delicious cookies. Cami and Ainsley are going to be fast friends

Here are the proud mothers. Ainsley's awesome pink sticker on her shirt is so people in the hospital don't think Scott and Wendy are running out with a child from the pediatric unit.
