Home Sweet Home

It is good to be home, but we miss our family already. This last week was busy for me but not so much for JD. I worked full time hours and set about getting settled back at home. JD had an on-campus interview for a firm in San Antonio so we will see if he gets a call-back interview (crossing our fingers). Besides that JD had some studying getting ready to start classes today. JD is so great about helping out at home when I work and I am very grateful. Cami is adjusting to being home. She is often gets her terrible two moments where she fights me about everything. It is a constant battle of wills, she doesn't want to get her diaper changed or wear clothes or eat her food or go down for naps or be strapped into the car or behave at the store....I can go on, but I think you get the point. I am grateful there are sweet moments too that make it all worth it. I love her infectious giggle that she doles out in large supply. I love her sweet smile with dimples and how she likes to come right up to me and put her nose on mine. I love her sweet little voice as she sings, and she has lately loved singing. She knows all the words to "I am a child of God" and "I love to see the Temple". She is learning how to ask please really sweetly and give me her biggest smile. I have no doubt she is a little spoiled as a result. This morning when I came home from jogging JD was changing her diaper and she said "wait I hear something" when I opened the door. She is so funny and keeps JD and I laughing. Although we are not officially beginning potty training we got her a little potty seat and she has gone quite a few times, but since she is still waking up pretty wet from naps and bedtime I am not ready to tackle that yet.
Friday we all went to the zoo. It was fun to go with JD since Cami and I go a lot with friends while he is at school.

Play time with the Redds

Before our long trek home we got to spend a week with the Redd side. We got to help Joni and Chase paint their new home in Idaho Falls. Here we are taking a break.

We got to help throw a baby shower for Joni and her little Alvin... who will be coming in Oct.
We got to play some games .
Emma and Andrew practicing some music.
We got to go to Jensen's grove in Blackfoot and play at the reservoir.

My beautiful younger sister Anna. She is growing up so quickly into such a beautiful young woman! It was so good to get to spend time with my family this summer and build stronger relationships. I am grateful for a chance to realize that the most important things in this life are families and our testimonies of the gospel and not things at all!

Grandpa Redd and I built Cami a fort out of these ABC foam puzzle pieces.
My parents threw us a goodbye bbq. Here was an attempt at a family picture. Someone was a little grumpy :)

Hugging her friend! These two are good friends. Probably better when they grow up though I am sure!
The pictures are out of order.... This is back at Joni and Chase's
Cami loves to wear other people's shoes... her own, not so much.
 Playing with Grandpa!
 More of Joni's baby shower.
Joni and Sarah with their cute bellies.
Just a cute picture of Cami.
Playing frisbee golf with Grandma and Grandpa Redd.

It really was such a wonderful trip! Thank you to everyone for such a great time! We miss you already!

Playtime with the Egbert side

While we were in Idaho we were lucky enough to see JD's sister Nicole and her cute kiddos. Here are some pictures of the fun stuff we got to do together.
Feeding the ducks! Except Katie wanted to feed herself instead.

 Playing with bubbles

I just love these. Katie is such a cutie!

 Going to Rigby lake.
Cami has to wear shoes on the beach because she has a thing about textures and can't stand the sand. What a silly girl!
 Jackson enjoyed getting super dirty!

Nicole let us come with her over to the Boyle's so Cami could see the farm and all the animals! Cami loved it.
Cami loves books and Katie decided to join in.
August 3rd and 4th we went to Hicee for the Shively Reunion. Here is Cami and Jackson learning how to play badmitton.
We got a little climbing in as well. Thanks Nicole for setting that up!

 Cami wanted to try too!
Saturday we went swimming most of the day and Cami was a little fishy, thanks to her swim classes this summer, granted she wears a life jacket, but she knows how to doggy paddle!
The girls got to make bead bracelets, while the boys got rubber band guns.
Cami learned how to say "Oh my Goodness" and she likes to be dramatic about it!
Cami and Jackson got in lots of jumping and even a little fingerpainting.
Can't forget reading time with Nana!
Katie with Grandma and Grandpa Shively.
We also went to Ijump and had lots of fun there.

 Celebrating Nicole's birthday...yep she is one! ;)
Jenna there to join the party!
