Happy Anniversary! Four Years~

This past week JD and I celebrated our four year Anniversary! Yay! We went to the Dallas World Aquarium. There were a lot of neat animals I had never seen before, like a manatee, and sharks, and some pretty awesome otters and penquins. They had lots of neat fish and ducks and monkeys too. Cami liked the animals but I think she was a little scared of all the noise and the massive school groups there for field trips, we have run into a lot of those lately at the zoo and the museum.

Saturday we went to the splash pad since it was 89 degrees outside. Cami was a little afraid of the water but she did get decently wet and stayed cool so I guess that is the point.

Cami was a little grumpy, but we had fun anyway.

Sorry everything is a bit scrambled, but hopefully you get the picture. We had a fun week. I have been able to work full time hours for the past three weeks and it has been tiring, but JD has been awesome about keeping Cami quiet to I can sleep and doing dishes and grocery shopping, and cleaning up around the house! What a lucky girl I am! Plus we have had fun and are keeping busy and enjoying family time together!

Happy Mother's Day

I hope everyone had a very Happy Mother's Day yesterday! I did. I didn't have to cook! I also got a yummy dessert! This past week other than me working, we went to the park, Cami and I went to the zoo, and Saturday we got to go to the temple. That was pretty much our week, oh and a nice bike ride up by the law school. We are ready for another week! Sunday was such a nice day and I loved a comment made my one of the speakers who said that Mother's Day is a celebration of womanhood, not just mothers. I am so grateful for my wonderful mother who is an absolutely amazing example and for my mother-in-law who raised such a wonderful son. But I am also so grateful for the many other women in my life who have touched me, encouraged me, and set an amazing example such as teachers, friends, co-workers, but especially women like my Aunt Leonora. She has always been a wonderful help and example to me and I am so grateful for her and her support!

Dinosaurs Valley and other such fun

Summer is here for the Egberts and we are hitting it full stride!

JD finished finals last Friday! He worked hard and I am proud to say we made it through year one of law school. I will be working full time hours this next 6 weeks to save up for our 10 week externship in Idaho Falls this summer. We are looking forward to missing the heat of Texas summer and basking instead in family time!

I love the way Cami runs. It makes me smile. Sorry for the poor quality I did it on my phone.

 Wednesday we celebrated my birthday. JD made a balloon surprise and breakfast when I arrived home after working the night before. We had a fun day going to the library and the park and getting take out for dinner. We had some friends over for cake and games after Cami went to bed. Thanks to everyone for all the sweet calls, texts, cards, and gifts! It was a wonderful birthday!

 Cami is tricky to get to eat, and eats best when she is distracted, so we sometimes read to her to distract her so she will eat something instead of drinking milk for her primary nutrition.

 Today we visited Dinosaur Valley State Park in Glen Rose. They had these models of dinosaurs and Cami thought they were pretty neat stuff!

 They have sweet dinosaur tracks in the river bed, unfortunately it has rained a lot lately so they were mostly all covered with water. There is actually an exhibit in the Smithsonian with tracks taken from this very riverbed, in fact we saw the site where they took the tracks out.

 Cami loved the water. She kept saying splish splash and deep! since that was what I told her when she kept wanting to go off by her self. The water was so much warmer than any water in streams in Idaho because it number one doesn't come from melted snow in the mountains, and number two it is very much warmer in Texas. So we spent a majority of our time there splashing through the water.

 We had to celebrate making it through year one! Cami loved the balloons!

 Monday we went for a bike ride at Cameron Park. It was great exercise and beautiful scenery!
