Halfway through...PC 1 and 2 that is

As of Wednesday this past week JD is half way through PC 1 and 2. It has been very busy and stressful for him. It is hard to not be able to do more for him. JD is studying so hard and I am proud of him. I was able to complete a fun project this week that I have been wanting to do since mothers day a year ago :) and I think it turned out well. Cami has been super helpful...and I suppose there is some sarcasm in that although there is some sincerity as well. It is easier to direct her and have her help me then try to do everything after she goes to bed. However she often wants to help with things she should not help with, such as by the stove or with raw meat, or finishing up painting... She is a sweetheart and reminds me often to " "say it nicely" when I lose my temper.
Just as a note to those who wonder how we could not be wanting another beautiful kid, it us not for lack of trying, we simply will just have to wait...it is really just a combo of not good insurance and also my minor infertility issue. I say minor because it was pretty easily remedied the first time with Cami, but where we don't have decent insurance we will just have to see if it happens naturally or we will wait till JD is graduated and has a job. In the mean time I pray for patience and gratitude for the blessing of my sweet energetic Cami. She really keeps me busy and we have lots of fun. She still loves music and books and wrestling. We have been working on trying new things at dinner- with lots of incentives...sticker charts and treats. She has discovered mazes and "finding things" pictures. I am constantly amazed by her memorization and observation skills. I often find myself knee deep in a complex discussion before I realize she is smart but not that smart :) but overall she has been very good and we are making progress with things like fit throwing and whining. Some days are rough, but we are learning. I have been amazed at how much more energy I have with more sleep and exercise. With working less I have been able to get into a routine and read my scriptures and exercise more. I love my calling with the Young Women and am constantly amazed by their testimonies and strength. I guess that pretty much sums up September. Hopefully JD makes it through the next couple very busy weeks at school. He says his motto right now is " just keep swimming".

Yesterday despite how busy JD was he let me sleep after work till 11 then later took Cami for a drive to go get something at school and picked up some cough medicine and a little balloon and pizza for dinner. Then he got Cami ready for bed so I could watch the relief society broadcast. I am a lucky lady :) Cami was rather reluctant to hand over the balloon but she was very sweet about it :)

Getting into the swing of things

Just a bit about what we have been up to. I am keeping up with this because it is our family journal and I print it off every year for our yearbook.
What's new with us? JD is super busy with school. He is gone all day and still has to study till late at night so he is getting tired already, but has 2 weeks down. I am taking it easier by comparison and just working one day a week. I am getting less done than before because I procrastinate, but I am a much better mom and person with regular sleep and exercise. Cami enjoys doing yoga with me and it always amazing me with her bright insights. Cami is on a game kick where we play candy land and chutes and latter's pretty much every day.
Cami loves riding her tricycle and frequently rides it all over the house...to the bathroom, around the table...she has become very adept at steering and maneuvering.
We recently worked on a reading nook for her room. She helped me sand and picked out the paint and helped me paint. She really loves to help me in the kitchen, and recently I have had to tell her that mom does the shakers, meaning she can't put in spices since she dumped almost a half a bottle of Italian seasoning into something the other day. Lucky for me I could get most of it out :)
We also started preschool with two other kids one day a week. She likes it so far. She is very social so I am always up for playgroups and things where she can play with other kids. Today I taught and we had fun reading Harry the dirty dog and decorating sugar cookies shaped like Harry and digging for bones in rice. Overall, I think they had fun.
