We reap the fruits of our labor!

Earlier this spring I planted a garden consisting of tomatoes, watermelon, pumpkins and a couple of years ago I planted a grape vine. On sunday we got to pick our first zuchinni of the summer season. Check out the tomato worm Dave pulled off! Yuck!!

Family Reunion 2009

This past weekend we had a Hansen family reunion. The last one we had was 17 years ago and we all got together at Lake Powell. This year we had plans of all meeting a Lake Nacimiento up in Northern Cali, but it just didn't happen so as a last minute change my cousin Debi thought it would be a great idea to do Disneyland instead. Like most vacations and family reunions not everyone was able to make it which was sad but another family reunion is already in the works. So out of the 6 kids in my moms family only 3 made it. We had a total blast going to Disneyland Thursday and Friday. Friday we had a chaacter breakfast which was awesome and I would totally go again. Luke got to see Chip and Dale and was so excited! Since our family goes to Dland often we thought that we would also have the family reunion scavenger hunt. So I found one online and printed it up. It was a picture scavenger hunt and you had to find all the all the clues. My mom, dad and I practically spent the whole 2 days at Dland looking for them.

On Saturday we went to the Crystal Cove beach in the morning and then went and had a BBQ at the pool later. The beach was really nice and warm but the traffic was horrible both ways. We saw a 3 car fender bender on the way there and on the way back! At the pool the older boys and dads played baseball in the pool and some of the adults just watched from the side lines. We had hotdogs, hamburgers, chicken on a stick and other good fixins'.

We only had one mishap just as we were getting ready to leave the pool and say our goodbyes Luke decided to see how far he could reach over the side of the pool with the baseball bat and fell in! David had to jump in after him and retrieve him. He was all right and not scared at all whicj concerned us a little. As we were assesing Luke to see if he was okay he just blurted out, "Dad, you saved my wife (life)!"

All in all we had such a great time and wish we could have spent more time talking and visiting! I hope we can get together and do this again very soon it was a great memory!

Plumber in the making!

We went to the beach sometime last week and had such a blast (it was Logan's first visit). The weather was chilly but we didn't care, especially Luke he was practically blue and shivering and still didn't want to go home. We sat and enjoyed to sound of nature,

grandpa dug a hole for the boys and took Luke "surfing."
When Luke was trying to catch a wave by himself he kept bending over to pick up the boogie board. He was wearing some new board shorts that were just a tad to big and I think that he is a plumber in the making! They do make good money and people always seem to need a plumber:)

Logan crawled around enjoying his freedom, touched the ocean for the first time and ate lots and lots of sand but didn't seem to mind. I can't wait for better weather and more beach days.

Welcome to the family Ruff-Ruff.

When Kyle and Karli got back from their honeymoon they wanted to take Luke to get a belated birthday present. When I was pregnant with Luke, Kyle got me for Christmas a gift card to Build a Bear. I had saved it all this time for him to take Luke himself. Well 3 years down the road we finally went and Luke had a total blast. He got a new puppy named Ruff-Ruff.

Luke Didlake: Life is a Highway

"You need to take care of me!"

Yesterday I had a wedding in Coto and was driving back and forth between the event and the house. During one of my trips I took Luke with me to lessen the load for Dave. If you have ever driven in Coto you will know that there are monstrous speed bumps and you have to drive fairly slow over them.

It was getting late and I needed to get Luke back home to get him to bed. We were listening to Rascal Flats: Life is a Highway (Luke's favorite) and I under estimated one of the speed bumps. Its not that I was out of control or that we skidded the bottom as we went over, but it was a bumpy ride! I looked back at Luke and he had a look of panic on his face. He had grabbed his carseat straps and yelled to me, "You need to take of me!" And continued to tell me this several times. I guess I needed a lesson from my 3 year old toddler that I need to drive a little more cautiously because I have precious cargo in tow!

5 Years and Counting

5 Years to the day David and I were sealed in the San Diego Temple. Where did the time go? It felt just like yesterday we were getting ready to become as one and now here we are as four!

I have loved every minute of our union. Even though at times we may disagree or not see eye to eye, the challenges and experiences that have been placed before us have been so rewarding. I know that I will look back in another 5 years and just reminisce on these moments in time and wonder how we did it. I know that everything happens for a reason. David and I were meant to be together! We love each other and are blessed with 2 beautiful boys that enrich our family.

These last five years have been a blast and I can't wait to see what the next five will bring us. Hopefully more children (I hoping for a girl!), David finishing up at Chapman, a house, the skies are the limit, the possibilities are endless. But come what may as long as I have David by my side for eternity I will cherish every moment.

Growing, Growing, Gone!

I can't believe how fast time flies. Especially with your second child. I don't know about anyone else out there but for Luke I got everything on camera remembered almost every milestone. Logan has been a different story. I try my best to keep up with him but he just is growong so fast and doing everything early. He rolled over, sat up, slept through the night, got his first tooth and crawled earlier than Luke. I just don't think I was ready for this much chaos! Just when I think I got the little guys schedule down it changes on me.

For instance we were just working out crawling and enjoys getting around when all of the sudden it get really quite in the house, first I check on Luke he wasn't doing anything destructive then I went looking for Logan, I had left in the living room playing with toys while I did the dishes but I heard him whining and thought he was over by the dog bowl (his other favorite place to play) but he wasn't there. I called out for him and heard him giggle a little and I look up the stair case and he is nearly to the top. His first but not last attempt to conquer the stairs

Later that week Luke and Logan were playing in the living room again and I left just for a second to get Luke a drink and came back to find Logan eating the dirt from the planter. Gross! It is just amazing how much fun these two guys are I just love them and thank the Lord everyday how blessed I am.
