Weekend Review

This weekend was such a blur and I feel like everything happened so fast.  It started with Dave coming home early Wednesday night.  We were so lucky to have for 4 whole days this week.  I love when he comes home.

Thursday was started with a 4am wakeup call to make sure we got Logan to the the surgical center on time at 5am.  (Logan has had chronic ear infections since he was born.  We finally got a good pediatrician to recommend that we go see and ENT.  My mom said Dr.  Camillon was the best in orange county and his reviews online confirmed his reputation.  Poor Logan has had an ear infection probably for 3 months and we just couldn't get rid of it.  When we went to go see Dr. Camillon he showed me Logan already had scar tissue and the best thing to do was tubes in the ears.)  So we get there and get settled, they take his vitals, get him dressed in a gown, give him a relaxer and whisked him away.  Dave and I went to the waiting room and were just talking and in 15 min we were back in the recovery room.  It went really fast and everything has been successful!  We got home of course and Luke was up and watching Rescue Rangers and said that it was the best morning ever!

After school we all hopped in the car and went to look at more houses with our realtor.  Some we were really excited about and some we just dismissed.  It has been a bittersweet joy searching for our first home  there are just to many Short Sales.  Anyway while we were driving my check engine light came on.  Many of you know Mrs. Reliable.

I love her and am so glad that I have had her for 10 years!  She is my White, 2001 Mitsubishi Montero Sport.  I have a lot of history with this car.  She was the first car I paid off, my college car, my honeymoon car, my bringing home my babies car.  She has always been there for me through it all I never doubted her but the time had come to say goodbye.  I have been talking about wanting a Toyota Sequoia I love those cars, but Dave has been eyeing the Acura MDX.  Well we have been looking and looking and just couldn't seem to find any Sequoia's in our price range but of course we found this Acura and Dave immediately fell in love.  It was in Long Beach so Dave decided he wanted to go check it out.  Of course he loved it the minute he saw it and so did I because it was the color I wanted.  To top it off it is completely loaded.  So we made a deal,  I would drive this until his Saturn was well worn, (which will be in a couple of years) and then we would look at buying a Sequoia.  I was elated to get a new car, this fits more,  I can play my I Pod and it is dependable.  So I named him Mr. Dependable.  I love him, I thought that it was appropriate since Dave did buy him for me and I thank my dear sweet husband for this car.  As Dave says "I deserved it!"

Friday we went to go see Great Mema and Great Papa they are doing well but slowly I see them fading away.  It pains me to see them this way, we are trying to convince them to move closer to us so we can all take care of them.

Saturday we met with our realtor and saw some more houses.  Saw one that I fell in love with but it was slightly out of our price range.  Oh well we'll keep looking.  Came down with a horrible sore throat and went to bed early.

Sunday Luke and I woke up in the middle of the night with a fever and aches and pains. Took some Motrin and went back to bed.  Was to sick to go to church so Luke and I stayed home and chilled on my bed the entire day!  It was nice I don't usually lay down or rest so it felt good to spend some time with Luke and just talk.

Fall Leaves

Before this hot weather we were having some nice cool fall/winter weather for California.  I take the boys to the park often to get their energy out.  On this particular day the Luke and Logan were have a good time rolling down the hill in all the leaves that had finally fallen off the trees.

Shoe Department

During the holidays I was really in the mood to find some really cute black heals.  I went shopping everywhere and tried on a lot.  The boys were getting bored and decided to try out the mini nylon stockings.  Seriously so funny!  I think Luke snagged like 3 pairs I found them in the laundry later in the week.

I'm A Big Boy Now!

Well Logan did it!  

My sweet baby boy is potty trained, well sort of.  

We have accidents and need to still be reminded to go and to listen to our body but we are getting there.

I  had all intentions of doing this at the beginning of the year, but it came much quicker.  

Luke had 2 weeks off of school in December and since I knew that I couldn't leave the house for a solid week I decided to do it then.

It went somewhat smooth but we did hit some bumps along the way.

But I am so proud of him and I am glad that we don't have to change daily diapers.

Luke also has been a big help.

He usually gets up with Logan in the morning, takes off his diaper and makes him sit on the potty.

What a big helper.

As a reward for being a big boy Logan got to choose his underwear of course he chose Star Wars.

The smallest size they have is 4T so his cute little bum just swims in them.

He truly is growing into a Big Boy.

Funny how that happens?

Best Day at the Dentist Ever!

I went to the dentist today after a 2 year hiatus.  I had new x-rays taken and then had my teeth cleaned.  I was waiting for the Dr and was expecting the worse like most of my dental appointments are.  She chatted with me for awhile and we caught up on old times.  Did I mention I love my dentists Dr Eli and Dr Wight.  They are the best!  Anyway she lays the chair back and looks over the x-rays examines my teeth.  I lay there waiting for her to poke and prod on the cavities and nothing happens.  I ask what the bad news is and she says there is none.  I say "Really?  No way! In 25 years I have never come out of the dentist without a cavity."  It was such a milestone I just had to share.
