Another Find!

I am totally on a craft high!  I was reading Right at Home a friend of mines blog about DIY home decorating  projects and crafts.  I love this site mainly because I love Jamie and her sisters style!  But she just posted about some really cute felt hair clips, but if you don't have a girl to dress up you can dress up yourself and embellish your stuff check it out the tutorial here.

Sleepy

I sat Luke and Logan down for lunch.  Logan finished and then asked for more, so I gave him some crackers.  When I went back to check on him this is what I found!

Jesus wants Luke for a SUNBEAM!

This is way late but I had to write about it.  It is a milestone!  Luke started Sunbeams a few Sundays ago, it was ruff for me and him and still is almost a month later.  Luke says that he wants to go back to nursery and here are his reasons. . .

1. He gets to play with toys.
2. He like his old primary teacher Sister Steinert.
3. He likes snack.  (But he did realize that Sister Hargrove his new teacher brings popcorn!)
4. Mom doesn't pick Lukie all the time!

Hopefully as time passes we will be more excited about sitting in a chair, singing songs and being a Sunbeam!

Crafts, Crafts and More Crafts

The weather has been so fabulous and yes I mean fabulous. (I love the rain!)  It makes me stay at home and work on things that I need to do.  Some of the things on my to do list have been putting together a first baby care kit for my sister-in-law Karli.  (Karli if you are reading this don't look at the pictures!)  I have to say that I was a tad disappointed that they were not having a girl (all of you know how much I want a girl) but a new baby is just as exciting.  So I wanted to make some burp cloths that I saw a friend of mine make for her daughter and son, made from snuggly flannel. So I went to JoAnns and got 6 different fabrics and went to work.  I think that they turned out so cute! 

Luke was also going to a birthday party for his Avery.  I made her a Valentine's Day skirt and another with a yellow print and ladybugs fabric.  I made a matching bag to go with and cute fabric flower, but of course I forgot to take a picture but I plan to make another so I take a picture then!

I don't know if any of you knew but Luke is obsessed with pirates!  So I decided to make a Skull and Crossbone backpack.  What do you think?  I wanted to have a little more polished, but hey it was my first one and imperfection is totally in right now.  He loves it anyway!

My last project is a Scrappy-Scrappy quilt, again for sister-in-law Karli.  My mom was a little skeptical but I love how the topper turned out.  When the final project is finished I will post a picture.

Grace Violet

When it comes to reading blogs I usually just read my friends and that is about it.  But I always here of people finding great ideas from other people.  So I was searching online to find a tutorial to make a really cute skirt for a friend of Luke's for her birthday and I came across this site Grace Violet.  I have a new love!  She gave great tutorials on how to make a skirt out of a pillow case and dress, cute fabric buckets to store toys, decorating ideas DIY.  It is awesome!  Check it out ladies I think that you will be inspired too.

Childhood Memory #3

POSTCARD

I was going through this box of keepsakes and came across this picture and started to laugh!  Kristyn, do you remember sending this to me?

My dear friend Kristyn (Thacker) Jackson sent this to me back in High School we were into writing notes in class she took it a step further and actually used the postal system. This is what it says:

Childhood Memory #2

LITTLE LEAGUE

So your totally going to laugh when you see this picture.  I totally remember this day and still cringe when I look at these photos.

We forgot that it was picture day and got a call from the coach that we needed to get down there.  So I put on my uniform and headed down to the park.  I remember getting my picture back and hated that I forgot to take off my cinderella watch and that I hadn't fixed my hair.  Do you blame me!  I love the title "Future Pro Star Seeks MVP Season."  I think they meant that for someone else I don't think I was ever awarded MVP OR aspired to be.

It was my first and only year playing T-Ball thank goodness I was the only girl and all I remember about the season was hysterically giggling with this little boy named David.  All we did was giggle and laugh.  I don't remember much about the season except hitting off the T-Ball stand and running to first base.  I do remember my Dad being very excited that I had expressed interest in sports and he went out and bought my a bat, glove, T-Ball stand and white cleats!  Yep white cleats!  I know it isn't that ridiculous, I was the kid that her parents bought her white cleats, I usually laughed at those guys. Oohh little league what good times!

Childhood Memory #1

For me to make this blog more of a journal I thought this year I would start by writing about my childhood memories.  So here it goes. . .

FAMILY


As I look back on this picture it just makes me want to laugh.  Here we all are watching TV together as a family which was not uncommon, but if you look closely at my Dad he really isn't watching he is asleep!  To this day that is typical of my Dad to be in sleeping while the family is gathered around him, all of us telling him to be roll over because he is snoring.  I like this photo because it is candid and even though we are not hugging and snuggling together we are enjoying one another and proving that we are one big happy family!

Wedded Bliss

I don't know if I have ever blogged about the weddings that I have done and I have been proud of all of them because each one is a huge accomplishment & learning experience.  But I did just finish one that at first I was nervous about the colors but in the end it came out spectacular!

It was my first time working with wedding planner, Heather Balliet with Amorology.  She was a blast to work with and hope that I get to do it again soon, I would love to have her creative mind! This wedding was for Rachelle Anderson a friend I grew up with from my ward.  I have know her and her family for 20+ years and was so excited to here that she was getting married and that they wanted me to do the flowers!  Her mother Donna made my wedding dress 5 years ago and runs a bridal salon out of here house, to check it out click here.  Rachelle had decided to go with a bold color choice a true red and turquoise.  Bold I know but super fun, the damask table runner ended coming in a poppy red/orange and so we had o blend the red with some orange hues, just check out the pictures it truly made a great color statement.

I just wanted to thank Sam and Megan for the awesome work they did, I couldn't have done it without them!
