Happy Thanksgiving!

Many hands make light work!

Luke and Logan both like to vacuum.  I don't know why but they do.  So when I vacuum the stairs they both get their turn and I think I will make it a chore later for them to do.  You can't start to early for helping around the house or family team work.  Many hands make light work!

Stuck!

 Logan thinks that he can fit through the railings of the banister,  to touch Nana's birdcage.  But he can't and gets stuck everytime!  Yes he has done this more than once or twice.

I'm gonna do it myself!

Luke one day hurt his cheek and decided that he needed a bandaid and wanted to do it himself.

So here is his handy band-aid work.

Family, Frogs and Frisbee

On Friday Dave finished his 8 week internship at St Jude Hospital in Brea, Ca.  It was a long awaited time for him to be done.  It was a good internship meaning the people were nice and the facility was run well but the drive was horrible.  An hour or more there and back.  And filling his gas tank was a nightmare, he would fill up alomost twice a week and that driving the Saturn.  Imagine if it was my car?  Anyway we always to something to celebrate a close of  a chapter and Dave decided that he wanted to spend some family time hiking/walking around O'niel Park.  I'm not exactly a hiker, if I'm in the mood or on vacation that requires it I will enjoy it, but I was just not into it.   But we went and saw cacti, lots of trees, a beginnings of a creek if it would rain more and frogs!  Luke loves to go down to O'niel Park and look for frogs.  He and Dave open up the water and sprinkler holes, (you know the ones that are green rectagular and there are flush with the ground.)  Well they are great hiding places for frogs and easier to catch than by the creek.  So we got some frogs.  It is fun to see Luke and to see his brain thinking and learning.  Logan didn't like them so much.  I took his finger to touch it and he did not like the feel of it at all.  He resisted anytime after that that I wanted him to see or touch a frog.  Maybe next time. 

After we had checked all the sprinkler holes Dave decided to bust the Frisbee out and throw that around.  Luke was okay and tried his best. Logan tried too!  I have to say that Daddy is the best, I on the other hand need to work on control of were it goes and distance.  It was a great day and can't wait for more like this!

Primary Program

I know I'm like a week late on posting this but,

it is just a milestone moment in my life that I just had to write about.

Last week our ward had our Primary Program.  It was so fun, stressful and a powerful spiritual experience.  I got all choked up in the closing song Families Can Be Together Forever, I can't wait till next year!  The kids did such an awesome job with their parts and sang beautiful.  The girls and boys that did there solo verses for The Family is of God really pulled together. Our poor pianist was so sick and she came and plaed then quickly rushed home.  I was so proud of the girls that signed with the song As I Have Loved You.  It looked great since we only had practiced maybe a handfull of times.  We got the best compliment from the Stake Primary Presidency, they said that we are the 2nd smallest primary in the stake and we were by far the loudest.  I couldn't believe it!  The boys and my Mom and Dad were also sitting in the cultural hall and they also said they were so loud.  So many people said it was the best Primary Program ever because the kids sang clearly and they could understand the words of the songs. 

Yeah my hard work and effort really paid off! 

Many people asked me what I said for them to sing so well and I just said, "To sing like you mean it!"  I also emphasized that there is a difference in singing loud and screaming.  And I explained to them that, "Singing is the easiest way to invite the spirit and to feel it.  You want those that are visiting to feel that love and comfort."  I am so proud and greatful for the kids and the opportunity that I have to help them invite and feel the spirit.  I love primary and am so excited for this coming years theme.

Turn of the Times

Lately I have been concerned about where our country is heading and what our President thinks is best for the people.  I have to say that I don't agree.  It often makes me reflect back to the scriptures and realize this is the turn of the times.  It is more important than ever to be prepared and concentrate on your children and family unit. Following the Prophet Thomas S. Monson and heading his words and the Quorum of the Twelve.  Going to the temple, saying your prayers, FHE (Family Home Evening), attending church, maginifying your calling, being self reliant, serving others, being a missionary, bearing your testimony not only to others that don't have the gospel but to your children.  They need to hear that you know what you know to be true. I know the list can sometimes be daunting and scary.  I often sometimes feel overwhemled that I will not be able to check it off my list, but I have been comforted by the spirit many times to just do my best.  Take it one step at a time and reevaluate your daily activities and make sure that they are Christ centered.  I am not  trying to say that I am perfect and don't waste my days doing meaningless things, because truly I have them often.  But I just wanted to share what helps me keep things in perspective for my family and children during these changing times.

I just wanted to take this time and bear my testimony that I know this gospel to be true.  I know that President Thomas S. Monson is a true Prophet of God on this earth.  I have come to know and feel of my Savior and his love for me.  I have read and know the Book of Mormon to be true.  I love my Heavenly Father and feel blessed that he has a plan for me to be able to return to Him one day.  I feel blessed for my husband and children. I am greatful and blessed to have such wonderful family and friends. And I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ Amen.

The West Wing

Have I ever mentioned how much I love the show The West Wing. I know it aired on TV almost 10 years ago, but I was flipping channels and came accross it on BRAVO when I had just brought Logan home from the hospital. I immediately loved the show. The only thing is that I came into during the middle of the season and series. I mentioned to Dave that I wanted to buy the series on DVD but soon realized it was way to expensive. Later he decided to see if he could rent The West Wing for me at the Chapman Library. Sure enough they had the whole series and for the next few months I would finish the whole the whole thing. It was so fun to watch and gave me an inside look at what the government does on a daily basis. It still comes on Monday through Friday at 8-10am on BRAVO channel 55 if anyone wants to check it out!

But what made me write this post was the feeling I got from watching the show this morning, (and believe me I know that it is Hollywood) but they are always trying to do what is right for the people. It made me feel proud to be an American.

Logan was so sleepy during lunch that he fell asleep in his highchair right in the middle of chewing his food.
