"Touch the letters, Mommy!!!"

I purchased gel window clings to decorate the girls' bathroom mirror for Easter. Now every time we go into the bathroom they have to "touch the letters". Sometimes randomly they will ask throughout the day. The letters are squishy and they have to stand on the counter to reach them so I'm sure that adds to the fun. Here are some super cute pictures of my girlies, wrapped in big girl towels, doing one of their current favorite things. Daddy and Mommy were right there so don't worry that they are standing on the counter.

What's Cookin, Good Lookin?

The girls got a kitchen set for Christmas from Mommy and Daddy and that was a GREAT purchase! They love it and play with it often. We requested some Melissa and Doug chef dress-up sets and YaYa and YoYo got them for the girls. They don't like to have them on for long and they are really too big yet but still so stinkin' cute! This day Stella was quite the poser for me and Mya wasn't interested. Ah well, such is life in our house!

Shoot For the Moon 2

You may remember last year when I posted about Wes playing in the Sylvania Teachers All-Stars vs. the 13 ABC All-Stars in a fundraising basketball game. He was recruited to play again this year. They were raising money to send all of the 5th grade students from Sylvania schools to the Challenger Learning Center. It is a competition between all of the elementary schools in the district to see who has the most fans and are the loudest. Stranahan (Wes' school) didn't have the most students but they were very well represented and the kids were fired up! Several of his kindergartners were there, as well as some of his former students. He had a whole fan

club complete with some signs that said "Rethman Rocks"! The signs from last year were hung again and the picture of his face on a stick was there too! His principal said he can't have the

signs until retires because he's going to have play every year! I roped my parents in this year

because I just knew the girls would be a bit of a handful considering the game started at their bedtime. I was so glad to have them there because it was pretty tricky to keep them entertained. They were so hot and antsy. Sadly, I missed the last few minutes of the game because Miss Stella had had enough and her and I went to cool off in the hallway. They looked so cute though in their "Stranhan Reads" t-shirts that Daddy brought home. They are a size 10-12 so I improvised and put a long sleeve black shirt and black leggings underneath and then pulled the extra material to the side and put a pony tail holder on it to keep it in place. Stranahan's colors are orange and black so I even got my parents to sport their colors!

The Sylvania teachers won and it was a great game! Wes did awesome! I can only imagine how cool that must have been to his kiddos to see their teacher playing basketball and kicking butt! Not that I'm not always, but it is times like this that make me feel so proud to be his wife! He is just such an amazing role model for his kids. The man has some mad skills and he looks so darn cute playing ball!

Little Mommy

My sweet little Mya is such a lover. She can always be found carrying around her baby dolls and feeding them their bottles. She insists that I swaddle her babies up in a receiving blanket I gave them to play with. She rocks them, kisses them and tucks them in for a nap in their doll-sized pack 'n play. She is going to be such a big help whenever #3 comes along. Love, love, love!!!!

Fun in the Tub

My girls have always enjoyed the tub. I am so glad they do because it is such a fun part of our day. I can't imagine having to force them to take a bath. They love to splash and play and they don't fight us when it is time to get out. It amazes me that they don't throw a fit because I know how much they like to be in the tub. They love to draw pictures with our tub crayons and then wash it off the walls with the wash cloth. They also love to lay on their bellies and have mommy and daddy "chinch a butt" or have their sister sit on their back. They think it is hilarious.

We have a routine and they know it. After supper on bath nights they run to the bathroom and can't wait to peel their clothes off. They sit for about 5 or 10 seconds on their froggy potties once they are naked but never really go to the bathroom. They are just too excited to hop into the water. After the bath and playtime we get them out of the tub the way my grandma always got me out of the tub when I stayed at her house. I sit a portion of the towel on the edge of the tub and they turn around and face the back wall and sit on the towel. Then I wrap them up and give them a little smooch on their nose. I always used to say that I was holding them like a little baby because when I get them out now they always smile and "lilla beebee". Then I clean their nose and ears with q-tips and head to their bed room. There they lay on the ground so we can put on their diapers, load them up with butt paste for the night and then put the sweetest smelling lavendar lotion all over! Then it's into their jammies and head to Mommy and Daddy's room to blow dry their hair and brush their teeth. Once they smell like heaven and are all ready for the night we all snuggle in our bed for a little bit and watch Dora. After Dora, we read a few books and head to their room where we give everyone kisses and tuck them into bed. Lately they have been asking to give me "peek-a-boo kisses" through the slats in their crib. They pucker up their cute little lips and give me kisses. Melts my heart!

So that's probably more than you wanted to know about our nights but I love them and wouldn't trade them for anything in this world!
