The Fresh Beat Band Concert

Back in April tickets went on sale for the Fresh Beat Band concert at the Toledo Zoo.  I called Ash and suggested that we take all the little girlies for their birthday presents.  Ash took care of getting the tickets and lucky that we did it then because they sold out right after we got ours.  In fact, we were in the second to last row.  The show was last night.  The girls knew about this in April so that was a LONG time to wait and they asked about it often.  The night before the concert I put them to bed and they came out of their room shortly after I put them in bed and they were dressed in the clothes I had laid out for the next day.  I asked why they changed and they said "So when we wake up we can just be ready for the Fresh Beats!" LOL

Daddy picked them up from Lisa's, I packed them a quick and easy supper to eat on the way there and we were off.  We met up with Aunt Ashley and followed her the rest of the way to the zoo.  They were SOOOOO excited.  We got in line to get them a shirt and I had asked them which one they wanted and they were so giddy so when we got up to the register and the lady told me the t-shirts were $25 a piece I was shocked but didn't want to disappoint them so we got the shirts anyways.  You only go to your first ever concert once, right????

 Like I said we were in the second to last row but it really didn't matter.  They stood on the seats and danced in the aisles!  Stella did ask me how we could "get up there to see the Fresh Beats" and I told her we couldn't.  She said "Well how did those other people get there".  I told her they paid more money than we did and she was okay with that answer. Haha!

 We cooled off with a shared Lemon Ice.

The show began at 6:00 and was over by 7:15 and they took about a 10-15 minute intermission.  It seemed short but it was perfect for their audience considering their demographic is preschoolers.  However, I would listen to the Fresh Beat Band without the girls with me, I LOVE them!  It was a fabulous evening!

Swimming at Nana's!  I told Stel she needed a few more floatation devices. LOL  She's actually doing really well in the pool.  They only wear a little vest or that frog that she has on and they swim all over the deep end.

Sharing their Leap Pad that they got for Christmas from Grandpa.  They are really terrible at sharing that thing though.  When we give it to one of them the other one is always asking within 30 seconds if it is her turn again.  I mentioned to Grandpa that I guess we know what he can get them for Christmas this year and Wes said that he was already out to Best Buy checking them out.  What an awesome, Grandpa!!! No wonder they love him so!

 

Speaking of Grandpa,  little Missy left her baby doll at his house the last time we were there almost a month ago.  She has randomly told us how sad she was and how much she missed the baby.  One particularly teary day we let her call Grandpa and ask if he would mail the baby since we had no trips planned any time soon.  He did it that day and when the baby arrived she couldn't wipe the smile off of her face!  She called him again to thank him for sending her baby home!  Plus, how cool is it to get packages in the mail!!!!!

On our way to dinner at the Country Keg for some delicious pizza and to celebrate my cousin, Brianne, and her fiance, Matt's engagement!  They will get married on September 1, 2013!  Can't wait!

Happy Friday, all!  I know I was sooooo ready for this Friday and extra long weekend!  Tuesday will be the girls' first day of school!  Ahhhhhh!

A Great Night!

Friday night Britt text me and said they were on their way home and wondered if we would be around this weekend.  I said YES!!!!!  We love spending time with them!  We decided to just keep it low key and hang around our house on Saturday night.  They came over to play, eat dinner and then we went to get ice cream.  I made chicken stroganoff from my friend, Melissa's blog and it was delish! Such a good time with one of our very favorite families!

Stella wanted to hold "Reesey Piecey" right away!

 

  Mya was not upset or sick or anything but she wanted Aunt Brittany to hold her as soon as she got here and she snuggled up to her just like this for a good 15 minutes.  Britt loved it!

 Wes was making his go-to clicky noises when he's around babies and Reese couldn't resist! ;)

 Just look at those gorgeous baby blues!  I told Britt it looks like she has colored contacts in!

 Uncle Troy was giving tiger rides!  Such a trooper!  He refueled after that workout with some "tiger juice" AKA Captain and Coke, which as he explained to the girls is only for adult boy tigers - Daddy and Uncle Troy.  The girls responded "Oh, because you're old?"  Ha!

Can't wait to see them again in September!

The DELICIOUS pizza that my friend, Brooke sent to a few of us teachers for the first day of school.  So very sadly, Brooke was one of the teachers who was laid off last year and we miss her so much!  She got a job in Perrysburg though so she's set!

InstaFriday!

I decided that InstaFriday is also going to include any iPhone pics I take throughout the week too. So here goes...

I took this pic to send to Wes to show him my awesome new word wall in my classroom.  I'm going to do a post about that soon because I just love it this year!  I have a theme of "Sailing Into Second Grade".  My awesome friend, Staci, helped me with lots of things around the room that she so masterfully created on the computer.  I did this word wall by my self and I heart it.  It says "Ahoy, Math Mateys" and each flag has a letter on it and I will be adding math words to it throughout the year.

After a night of shopping at Kohl's we had dinner at Tropical Smoothie Cafe!  YUMMMMMMMY!

 I ordered this adorable wristlet from Etsy for one of my sweet friends that needs a little pick-me-up and since it was going to take a bit to get here I took a picture of it and sent it to her!  It made her smile!  Success!!!

We had our final playdate with Payne for the summer......sigh.......and Miss Mya was being a complete pistol!  We went to the zoo and Daddy ended up leaving early with Miss Thang!  Stella was great even when she got stung by a bee for the first time ever.  Only a few tears and we recovered quickly!

Found this shirt at Walmart and couldn't pass it up since I can wear spirit wear to work!
