Remember to Smile
Guard Up// Ease of Manipulation

We learn something new everyday.
I might not be the most careful of people, I might not be the most sensitive of people, I might not be the most street-smart of people, but I am not proud of my lack of valuable traits and try to pick it up.
I don't boast about how "far I've come", but rather I look down on the ground and see what I'm still lacking and try to learn from the best.

We learn something new everyday.
I think we can learn from the best of people, we can learn from the worst of people.
Or we can just learn from people, because everyone has their story to tell.

Videotape/ Radiohead

So I had to transfer all files to my back-up laptop because my current laptop finally decided to retire.
It's like a new start for iTunes, every song never played before.
I can no longer listen to the "Most listened Songs" and I'll have to slowly sieve through the thousands of songs.

I realised each song grew on me for different reasons.
And there are some songs which just need to be replayed to birth new feelings.
Such a beautiful song that I haven't heard in a long while.

"Hey now.... Woah there!"

So I was a happy go lucky child, or at least that was what Mum said.
But then something changed in me.

If I guess, probably around P4.
I called it "middle child syndrome".
But now... I think it's just me being a dick.
But hey, we need to go through that phase to know what it means to be a d-bag.
And hey, I still think there was some middle child syndrome involved!

Yet, I'm still somewhat pessimistic and cynical.
My outlook has changed. And I know that at times it can be rather depressing.

So I try to look at the positives in life.
Try to be more optimistic. Bubbly if you will.
But sometimes it gets so tiring.
It's tiring not because the positives aren't helping.
It's tiring because I'm trying hard to change.

But I think I've changed a little.
And I want to continue.
A balance, some white and black, some yin and yang. (yin is dark btw, and yang is the light part)

I like where I'm going, and it's going to be hard.
But I think this shall be my 22nd bday wish. To see it to the end. ^^

PuayHee Dreamworks

Open bottles of beer but never Champagne
To applaud you with the sound that my hands make.

Sometimes, I think and think and think.
Maybe I should just take a risk and see how things play out.
But I hate risk, it's not adventure, it's not calculated lest it doesn't fit my definition of "risk".
Risk and calculation can't possibly go hand in hand, right?
I'm obviously confused.

They say our views change as we gain experience.
Perhaps this is what "experience" is supposed to be.

Maybe it's not that I don't want to take risk, but rather I'm afraid of the disappointment.
Mmm, I think I know.

Doing superficial stuff because superficiality can give us a modicum of reassurance

Like curls.
Haven't done them in a year now? lol

Remember that there's always good things in life to help fight against the meanies.
Even if the demons hide in yourself you have your little minions to call upon.
The sun is down now. And the memories come.

It's always been on my mind. Sighsss :(

Simple-minded, Happy go Unlucky

Reading everyone's blogs today, I realised my thought process is very straight-forward, simple even.

Or maybe it's just that when I have things to say, I tend to mull over them.
My words get all jumbled up.
It's like I have a mind-map with "ideas" and "words" and "symbols".
I can't organise things coherently.
Which is very weird given I'm a science student.

Perhaps that's why my tutors always tell me to crytallise my thoughts.
But obviously to no avail lest this post wouldn't even be here.
Mmm.

And sometimes my thoughts just run amok.
And I can't control them. I've been meaning to ask but I haven't.
I tell myself to give it time. Or am I just afraid things go awry.

Maybe it's what makes me me.
This inability to link my thoughts.
Makes me less confrontational, makes me seem more serene.
And I just keep everything bottled up in jars and store them in my cupboard of chutney and kimchi.
And let them grow or fester, whichever I choose it to be.

Maybe sometimes I should link up my thoughts and just take the risk.
Once more plunge into the deep end of that dark, cold pool.
Because that's how I've always approached things.
Irrationally, and with a strong heart.
Or at least what I think is strong.

Investment or something to tie you down

Mm, every now and then, I see people posting videos stating that houses tie you down.
Maybe it's time for me to rethink the definition of "wealth".
But at the same time, it's time people start to understand why people claim what they say about property and evaluate their contextual relevance to your situation, namely Singapore where property prices soar.

A house owned (note, meaning you've paid your due sum) is first and foremost an investment for the future, a shelter from calamity and a back-up plan. And I think first and foremost, for a mind like mine, it's one less thing to worry about.

Now where's that book about some rich dude from Babylon lol.

Thinking

Well, I don't really want to say it.

But for some matters,
I think it's better to let it take it's natural course.

If it happens it happens,
If it doesn't well, it doesn't I guess.
