last session week

Hey kula! hehehe it's going to be the last session week and everybody's off to their own campaign trail! My co-workers said that campaign is a tough job, sometimes you are required to stay in the HQ for a couple of days and its really stressing. (fuck stress as long as its fun, its darn ok with me!) This is my first time to get engaged in campaigning since when I was young, I was not really interested in Politics. In fact, it was one of the most hateful things that I don't like in society. I used to shut myself out and decided not watch news nor read newspapers. But things has changed now, I do watch the news and read the newspapers but it doesn't change my view on Politics. It is still hateful as ever but now, somehow I understand some of it while the rest is still in the process of understanding.

Boss is on shaky grounds.. saw the SWS survey and it is amazing how the voting public could be so stupid in making their choices. FPJ is leading on the presidential race. Noli leads in the VP slot and the Senatorial line up is made up of Old politicians and incumbents. Hayy.. what are my contigency plans if Boss does not make it ? Do I need to prepare my resume?

Asked a good friend is she would work for an actor (no.1 in the survey) since it seems that he's gonna win -- or probably to the son of a Former President, or another action star from the Central Luzon -- told her that they might be good bosses since they don't know anything, it's like having a dummy (hehehe). She didn't like the idea one tiny bit. She said that that would be the lowest of them all cause these people does not know anything bout legislation. And it is true - Legislation is not only public service. Legislation takes a lot of brain. It takes a lot of IQ. I am not saying that they don't have the IQ.. guess what I am trying to point out here is that, their intelligence is not enough. How do you discuss legalities on the floor without sounding stupid? Oh hell... I just wish the voting public will make a wise decision in choosing leaders.

One week more of late working hours and it's all over. Real start of the game called Politics.

work and no play

Ei you! Been a while since I wrote my last entry.. well.. work is really tough this past few weeks and I believe that it will remain that way for a couple of months since the boss decided to run again.

We had our meeting today at the boss' house with the boss' wife, talked about strategy and corresponding responsibilities. Frankly, kulasisi.. couldn't wait till the session ends. The going home late is making me feel irritable... I came in early and go home late. Work isn't supposed to be that way ( as I have learned from my almost 1 year in service). Work is about going in early and going home early.Yeah.. yesterday, last year.. (read it again dork..) twas the day that i got hired... but i'll be celebrating my first birthday come Feb. 3. Guess I'll take this chance to count all the blessings that I got since I started working.. then I'll proceed in discussing our current dramatics in the work arena.

One year of service. I have learned that everybody in the office has their own separate issues to resolve. These issues, more or less, causes inter-relation conflict between and among co-workers. That people tend to depend on you to do everything and know everything. I learned that knowing the right people can really make a difference. I have discovered that even after becoming a lawyer-- discrimination still exist. It is nice to have your own money. It gives a pleasant feeling to be able to give to your parents and siblings.

Enough with that-- here's an update bout the airhead.

Well, airhead decided to still in our minds that she exercises power over us that she has to write us a memo. Said memo contain the duties and responsibilities of our designation. It is really a nice piece to copy if I decided to update my resume. Anyway, the gap has become irreparable, and the line has been drawn. I've decided keep my distance and keep our relationship on the professional level. I don't want to imbibe anything bad or something -- cause knowing myself, I'm going to be influenced even unknowingly. I don't want people to hate me. I'm such a pleasure giver -- ahem.

Anyway, she said she'll be out of the office (and hopefully, out of my life -- thank god!) after the elections. We'll just have to wait if she's true to her word, until then -- i could only hope. Basically, she was a nice buddy. We used to go out on gigs and enjoy having chitchats... but lately, she's becoming a pain in the ass... she's too bossy and acts as if she's the only one working. And to top it all -- with all my niceties and charms -- she was able to bring out the bitch in me. That really sucks!

Anyway, been working and got no time to play-- I want a break.

kick the airhead

My superior is becoming a pain in the ass.... and i mean it literally.

I was in the office today, working very hard.. trying to live up to my rating of outstanding.. when suddenly she has the urge to power trip. I am not questioning the authority that she has over me, and as much as possible i try to be pleasant to everybody. I try to take everything with a smile, even if sometimes she wants to boast or do something egotistical.

She had become an airhead. After becoming an officer of the court -- she just started treating everybody as her inferior. For the second time, I answered her back. I think I need to qualify it, I answered her back the first time through a joke. And this time, I answered back and gave her the cold shoulders.

I know that work is supposed to be controversial since you cannot please everybody. One way or another you're bound to piss someone off, and you're going to have a row. Technically speaking, it was not a row -- it's more of gap. I hate feeling bad -- and frankly, right now, I really do feel bad.

I feel bad cause she was able to bring out the bitch in me. I feel bad cause I failed in my resolution to make everybody love me.

Maybe then that's the problem -- I've been nice for so long. I just can't tolerate her anymore. And if God has different plans for me, then so be it. I'm sure I'd be able to find a new job (cause basically I believe that she would start to bad mouth us after what happened).

She makes OUR (Read: majority of co-workers) work environment a living hell. I just wish that she'd just go away.

Lord, I know you're reading this.. and I am sure that I am not really a bad person... Please lord make her go away. She makes my life miserable. I don't deserve to be around her. I don't deserve to see her. She feels that everybody owes her. She feels so indispensible. Please lord, teach her a lesson. Save me before I commit murder.

AMEN

outstanding

Every 6 months, our office has its performance evaluation. And I am glad to inform you for the past year, I got a rate of Outstanding. =D

isn't that enough reason to celebrate?!

I wish that I would be able to attain higher goals and make dreams come true. I hope that I would evolve and continue to grow as a person, socially and professionally. I wish myself a better and a more service oriented year. Heheehe...

tired@work

been back at work for 2 weeks now, and its tiring me up already... our workload doubled specially with the upcoming elections! I just hope that i'd be able to do my own priorities without compromising my job. Session ends on Feb. 6 and we would be having sessions in the morning and in the afternoon.. I just don't know if they'd be able to finish all the legislative work in a span of 2 weeks. God bless us all!

This stress is going to kill me.

on pirated dvds and pornographic vcds

My sister and I went to the market to get a copy of this scandal which allegedly involved two students from a Class A university. My officemates and I were talking about it last friday -- it got good reviews from net too. So it triggered my curiosity that I'd just got to have my own copy. Some called it the Lihim ng Makati and some called it La Salle Scandal. Anyway, we had a hard time looking for the said video -- cause basically society does not allow girls to buy pornographic materials. Luckily, we have boyet with us -- so he was the one asking the salesperson bout it. I was amazed that aside from Lihim ng Makati -- there are also scandals in the different cities of the Metro. Caloocan City Scandal, Quezon City Scandal, Makati Scandal and all other scandals that you can think of.. It really is funny.

When we got home, we immediately played it, only to realize that this was not the fucking video that we were looking for, the girls in the damn videos were professional hookers getting banged by a black american. So we have to go back to the said market -- and have it exchanged. We had arguements with the idiotic shithead cause she's so damn grouchy. Not to be disappointed -- we visited another store and ask (quite shyly) the saleslady bout the vcd. When that query resulted in the positive -- i bought it and prayed that the said disc contain the video that i am looking for.

Yeah.. it contain everything those people in the forum described. *grins* I'm just glad that my search is over.

anniversary

today is my 3rd year with Blogger. Imagine that? It was just like yesterday - hehehe.. anyway... I wish Blogger and me, more years to come! Kampay!

golden rule

My mom always said that if you want to be respected you should give respect first. I can't understand how come there are parents out there who forgot this rule. Isn't it supposed to be part of Good Parenting 101?

Anyway, I was talking to a friend this afternoon -- and suddenly her mom picked up the extension of the fone and started yabberin... I felt bad for my friend-- I mean, first and foremost, her mom violated her right of privacy. She knows that my friend's on the line and yet she picked it up not once but twice. Then -- she reprimanded my friend right then and there. If I were a different person then, what am I supposed to think? I would probably think that this person does not respect me, cause for goodness' sake -- the said line was not being used exclusively by my friend -- I am using it too! So when she said something like, "you're always using the line".. in a sense she's also telling it to me.

Of course I felt bad - but not for me - I felt bad for my friend. Cause most probably if her mom can do this to her even in the front (figuratively) of her friends -- I am afraid to think of what she's capable of doing if they're alone.

Aren't parents supposed to love their kids no matter what? I am aware that financial assistance extended to your parents can give you additional benefits, but parents ARE REQUIRED to love their children in good and bad times. I can't seem to understand how could there be parents who are mean to their own flesh and blood?

In due time...

you will reap what you sow.

thoughts in my head

Everybody gets depression attacks once in a while. I am not an exception. I used to have these attacks once a month. Thank god, those days are gone! Guess writing or keeping a journal helped a lot. Especially when you are alone, it is when sad thoughts emerge from the back of your mind... creating fear, confusion, and uncertainty that consequently leads to depression.

Fear of the past. Fear of the present, Fear of the future… fear is endless. One way or another there would be something about you, about your past and your present that will frighten you. But then again, what matter is how you deal with the present, for it is where the future depends.

We all have our own history… whether good or bad, that part of our lives made us what we are today.

Can love withstand the challenges of life? Or does it dry up like tears? When and where does love end? Will love subsist amidst life’s sorrows and pain? Will love endure the agony? Or will it be strong enough to sustain you both?

I say, love ends when it is no longer there. Personally speaking– love ends on my part when the person I love decided to move on without me. When finally, everything has become one sided. Some love survives the countless sorrows and pains. And I am astounded that somehow they were able to endure the test of time. Their love has become an anchor – a source of strength, courage and determination to prove to the world that they can and they will survive.

There was a time in my life that I refuse people to get close to me for the simple reason that I thought that letting them know me – would consequently lead them away. But what I didn’t know is that the process of protecting myself was in itself turning away from the very people that I wanted to get close to.

I’ve come to realize that people who like you will stay no matter what – and people who don’t like you will naturally go away.

Would the past change the way you feel for a person? Would it affect the way you feel? Would it not make you think again?

Past is a tool to know other people better. By knowing her/his history—you tend to understand her/his dispositions, you come to understand their way of thinking. I would be lying if I say that knowing one’s past does not affect the way I feel --- it does. Such knowledge enlightens you to decide on what you want. It leads you to make a choice.

We desire things that we do not have. And I’ve learned a long time ago that I don’t have what I don’t need. But it doesn’t mean that I’ve quit dreaming and hoping for better things. Wallowing for other people’s good fortune or things that you desire eat up so much of your time that you forget to appreciate the things and the people that you currently have in your life.

Lucky are those who were able to find someone who will love them despite all their imperfections.

I guess it all boils down to the fact that what really matter is the NOW and FUTURE of our lives. How you were able to bring laughter to the world, how you were able to share yourself, how you live and how you love.

disney on ice

Today, we visited our relatives in Antipolo. Thereafter, Ate, Ate Vivian, Kyle, Luis and I went to Araneta Coliseum to watch Beauty and the Beast. Beauty and the Beast is my favorite fairy tale/disney cartoon. They've worn very very nice customes and the ice rink was decorated beautifully. I really had a nice time! The show is not just for kids -- it is also good for adults, like me!

The show reminded me of my childhood -- those times wherein problems are menial and I don't care about politics, economics and the depreciation of peso. The only setback I guess is the fact that souvenirs costs a lot -- we bought Kyle and Luis cups with snow cones -- it costs us 500 bucks.

I'm glad that the kids had fun, and I hope that in the coming years .. they would still remember Disney on Ice and how they've seen Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Goofy, Chip and Dale dance for us. Hehehehehehe...

welcome 2004!

Year 2004 is a Chinese Green Wooden Monkey Year. Why did the Chinese name the year 2004 as the Green Monkey Year? Chinese calendar used the Stem-Branch system to count the days, months and years. There are 10 Stems and 12 Branches in this system. Stems are named by the Yin-Yang and Five Elements (Metal, Water, Wood, Fire and Earth). The Stem sequence order is Yang Wood, Yin Wood, Yang Fire, Yin Fire, Yang Earth, Yin Earth, Yang Metal, Yin Metal, Yang Water and Yin Water. Branches use the animal names.

The Branch sequence order is Rat, Cow, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Sheep, Monkey, Chicken, Dog and Pig. Stem and Branch are used together to form a cycle of 60 counting systems which begin with Wooden Rat and end with Water Pig. You can see the entire sequence from the Chinese New Year's page. From Year 1924 to 1983 is a complete cycle. Year 2004 is Male Wooden Monkey , the 21st of the Stem-Branch in the system. Because Wood(Tree) is equivalent to color Green in the Five-Element system, Year 2004 is also called Green Monkey year.

Snake (2001), Horse (2002) and Sheep (2003) are the cycle of Fire years. The cycle of Fire has already ended. The Monkey is the beginning of the Metal cycle. This means that 2004 is a turning point for people whose lucky element is Metal.

The 2004 is the beginning of Metal cycle. Now it's the turn for the Metal business. Metal stands for gold, jewelry or money. Therefore the financial business will boom in these coming two years. You can see the mother nature is very fair. Everyone takes turn to share the luck.

The major elements in the Green Monkey are Wood and Metal. According to the Five Element Relationship, we know there is a conflict between Wood and Metal. So the disputes and arguments are there for many people in 2004. Fortunately, there are some Water inside the Monkey. Water is the key to make Wood and Metal get along peacefully. The reason is from Five Element relationships. Metal supports Water. Water supports Wood. A Water person is a good friend of a Metal and a Wood person. So Metal people and Wood people have the chance to shake hands. Water stands for wisdom in Chinese astrology. That means it always has a solution for the disagreement from Wood and Metal using your wisdom(Water) in 2004
