25 years!

today we commemorate the edsa revolution. i was barely 9 years old when it happened. and as far i can remember, i know that we were pro-marcos then.we would wear red and do the v sign. 25 years ago we wanted corruption to end, we wanted change, we all hoped for a better future for the kids (twas us then..)

25 years after, the kids then are all adults now. we are at the prime of our lives and reflecting on our situation. we still want corruption to end, eradicate poverty, solve the unemployment problems, we are still fighting for the change and we are still hoping for a better future.

and we would always wonder what if it never happened? would it be different? clearly, the answer is we would never know because it did happen. not one. surely two and almost a third time.

man of my dreams

he was there again in my dreams.
that man whom i dreamed of when i was way younger.
he was just a regular dude armed with charm that will take your breath away.
the feel of his hand clasping mine pacified me. a feeling i sorely miss when i woke up.
i remember touching his hands and playing with his palm.
i still remember the electrifying feeling of attraction. It was so overwhelming.
i love the sense of protection, calmness and that knowledge that life with him will be steadfast and good.
then i woke up.
in here- he does not exist.
i was really hoping it was real.. and i will not hide my disappointment. hay lord..

emback!

i am back at work.. not that i am really happy about it. i think i needed a day off from my activities during the weekend. house hopping and island hopping is quite exhausting. but it is nice to meet people and learn new dialect. if ever i learned something out of my weekend, i think it would be how important a companion is in our lives. i don't think i need to explain that. i took some great shots ( i'd like to think of them that way) and posted some here. enjoy!

daghang salamat cebu

I’ve always thought of myself as a good person so undeserving of all the hard and lonely situations that I get myself into. Just to realize I only got myself to blame. This weekend, I get to reflect on my life. I got a break from worries this effing world wants to bestow upon me.

For so long, I have been a sucker for pleasure and things surreal. For the last two weeks, I got nothing in my mind but my OB to Cebu. It could have been treated like any case I handled, come to Cebu in the morning—conduct my hearing after lunch – and rush to the airport to catch my 5 o’clock flight back to Manila. All in day’s work. That’s how I have been doing it for the last year and it works just fine.

Sometimes opportunities would just present itself for the taking. I have to go to Cebu. After all the stress that I encountered in the past couple of months —I believe that I do deserve this retreat. What an opportune time to reflect on my life, right? I got a free ticket, free lodging and a time to myself. But wait, there’s more! An old friend recently relocated in Cebu, ain’t that great? So I diverted from my usual doings and packed my bags.

I was so ready to be entertained and have a relaxing week before my hearing in Bohol. But work is work. It is important. So for today, I am in this 5-bedroom house by the beach with my camera, laptop and ipod for company. I stay up to catch a glimpse of the sunrise. It was wonderful, just like what I had in mind. I thought I could go back to sleep then but my stomach started to grumble. I tried to ignore it, but the more I try to keep it off my mind--- the more it persists. I am dizzy due to lack of sleep and hunger. When I surrendered to my tummy I went to the kitchen to get a piece of bread and a glass of water. Nothing beats like water theraphy, I am telling you.

And my soul searching went on. The silence is deafening. I can actually run inside the house naked just so I could entertain myself. I just want a company. In the absence of any other living thing in this house, I grabbed my laptop and talked to one of the nicest “new document” I have encountered in my entire life. It accommodated my angst and loneliness just like an old friend.

I wonder if I could go on all day with this seclusion with only water to keep my tummy from grumbling.

I want my sleep and food. I took a bath and try to see if that would lull me to sleep.

At around 11.00 am my tummy won’t be ignored anymore. I had to do something.. the homeowner told me I could ransack the kitchen. I took the pasta from the cupboard and cooked instant carbonara.

2 hours later, I am being picked up by the service vehicle because I snapped and let boredom conquer me.

I am staying now here up north for the night. 4 days, 4 places to crash. What a way of life.
