My Birthday With The Girls

We were finally able to get the whole group together to celebrate my 25th birthday.  We decided to try a new place at Watters Creek called the Frogg Creperie.

Tulip Festival: Dallas Arboretum

The Dallas Arboretum had their annual Tulip Festival this past week.  I have to admit....I think Thanksgiving Point in Utah has a more impressive festival. It was still a fun outing even though it was 55 degrees out.  We are having a random cold spell here in Texas.

Brady and Carter played on this slide for quite a while.

If you are wondering what Ray is doing in the picture below....he is pretending to paddle.  They were sitting in a boat made out of a log.

Picnic

Spring is here in Texas, and we are taking advantage of the good weather before summer hits.  To start the season off right we invited Ray and Jen to have a picnic with us on Saturday. 

The best part of the day was when Brady sat on the foam cooler....and then it crumbled underneath him.  There were people doing a family photo shoot in the trees next to us, and they all got a pretty good laugh out of the situation.

Riley and I enjoyed a quick nap while the others were off flying a kite.

Dallas Stars Hockey

Brady and I aren't huge hockey fans....but we couldn't say no to free tickets from Brady's work. This was our first game at American Airlines Arena, and we were pleasantly surprised.  Our seats were cushioned, we had a great view even from the top level, and it was a very clean arena.  The down side was that the Stars lost. I actually was not too sad since I am a Sharks fan....represent!

Of course we had to take the Dart because Brady loves public transportation. I hate every minute of riding on any sort of public transportation, so when our ride home was packed with hockey fans I was really regretting not driving.

Austin Texas

We have heard great things about Austin, so we decided to spend the weekend there.  Our first activity was the Austin Duck Adventure.  They take you on a 1.5 hour tour around the city, including splashing down into Lake Austin for a quick boat tour around the lake.

Then we drove to S. Congress Ave. for lunch at Hopdoddy's.

Our favorite part of the trip was renting water bikes.

For dinner we went back to S. Congress Ave. to eat at the food trailers for dinner.  I was a little concerned about how sanitary the whole thing was hahahha...but it was pretty good.

We also stopped by the 85th Annual Kite Festival at Zilker Park.

Of course we had to visit the University of Texas.  This is by far the coolest college campus I have ever been too.  The football stadium is amazing!

The Baseball Field was awesome too!

On our way home we stopped at Salt Lick's BBQ for dinner. 

They even let us go into the kitchen to check out the pit they cook all the meat on.

We will be back Austin Texas!

25th Birthday & TCU Baseball

I turned the big 25 this past week!  To celebrate we went to Benihana's for dinner.

We finished off the night at Ray & Jen's with a cake from Nothing Bundt Cakes.

Brady & I are so excited baseball season is here.  Since we are within driving distance to TCU, we decided to make that our first baseball game of the season.  We had a blast even though they lost.
