July Randomness

We are heading out of town tomorrow, so I thought I would get a jump start on the month of July.

Besides having my parents visit, a girls trip, office renovations, and a beach trip for the last week of the month.....we SWAM!  Kelsey also had summer dance, swim lessons, and she learned to write her name really well!  Nixon loved having one on one trips to the pool with Brady while Kelsey and I went to dance and swim lessons. Nixon also got his first hair cut by Brady on the back porch...ghetto.    I also had my first kickboxing class this past week, and I feel like it might be a good fit for me.  I am going to try to do that once a week along with my indoor soccer that I do on Monday nights.

I would also like to note that Kelsey and Nixon have started playing really well together this past month.  They go outside by themselves every morning, and play for quite a while before there is crying.  Brady asked Nixon who his best friend is and he said "Des"....that is what he calls Kelsey.  Brady then said, "Nixon is Dad your best friend?" and Nixon said, "No, Des".  

I think this year might be a good year for Kelsey and I.  She still says hilarious things, but she is starting to be much more grownup.  I also think having a break from each other while she goes to preschool will be a good change.  She is getting to a really fun age, and we are going to try to enjoy our last year with limited schedules before she starts kindergarten. 

Girls Getaway!!!

We had such a fun getaway for my friend Laura's birthday.  We stayed at the Renaissance hotel at Legacy West, and it was AMAZING!!!

We enjoyed massages, mani pedis, shopping, eating out, pool time with no kids, card games, and sleeping in past 8 am.  We are going to make this a quarterly event from here on out.

Our husbands actually had a lot of fun with the kids and got together one night for a little party.  I'm pretty sure the kids would like us gone every weekend after having so much fun with only "dad" supervision.  Hopefully Laura's blow up waterslide survived the weight of the men riding it with kids on their backs.

Office Update

We were SOOOO excited to get started on our office.  We decided to go with built ins for the desk and cabinet portion.  Our now good friend, Dennis, was so easy to work with and he did a great job!

We also decided to install shiplap on the opposite side of the room.  Our friend James came over to help Brady cut and nail the boards up on the wall.  The following day my dad was here, and he helped with the painting and other finishing touches.  We were very grateful for the extra help on this project!

Mike and Val Wrap Up

The last few days we had with Grandma and Papa were filled with food, house projects, and the lake.  Kelsey also had to visit urgent care on Sunday for what I thought was a really bad spider bite....it was just a blister hahaha.

Papa Mike has already started planning their next trip since his boating outing didn't go as planned.  There is a huge lake about 5 minutes from our house and we reserved a pontoon boat to take out one day.  However, the only one they had available at that time had a broken canopy.  Needless to say we will be planning that in advance for their next visit.  The kids still had a fun time playing at the beach area.
