Daddy Daughter Dance

 Kelsey and Brady went to a fun Daddy Daughter dance on Saturday at a local high school.  Carl and Brooklyn were able to go too, so Kelsey was able to have a friend there.  They had so much fun!

Alright Hayes this last month was a long one.  

Life has slowly gotten better since week six.  You don't cry nearly as much unless you are tired.  However, you are killing me with your sleeping.  It takes me a good 45 minutes to get you to fall asleep.  Then I am lucky if you sleep on your own for 30 minutes in your crib.  You do a little better at night when I initially put you down, but it's still not great.  You go to bed around 8 pm and wake up to eat around 11 pm, 2 am, and 5 am.  You really struggle to go back to bed after the 5 am feed.  I also should mention that you are sleeping on me 75% of the time.  Basically we need to make some big improvements this month.  Both Nixon and Kelsey did a lot better around three months, so I'm hoping it doesn't take you much longer than that to figure things out.  

You have started smiling for us which is nice.  You also have great head control since you sleep on your tummy.  I'm trying to stay away from dairy because it seems to make you spit up quite a bit. You are actually pretty content being put down on your back to play a little bit, but you still prefer to be held.  You spend the last 2 hours of your day being walked around by your dad in a carrier.....it's how we survive the evenings.

Kelsey's 6th Birthday

We had Kelsey's 6th party at a cute place called Made of Sugar and Spice.  It was great because I didn't have to do anything for the party for setup or take down.  All I had to do was bring the cake and send out the invitations.  The girls had a blast dressing up, making picture frames and bracelets, getting their hair/nails/makeup done, doing karaoke, dancing, playing games, and eating cake.  The staff at the venue took care of everything.  I was able to sit with the other moms and enjoy the party!

On Kelsey's actual birthday, Nixon and I surprised her at school with some lunch.  Later that night we went out to dinner at Cotton Patch Cafe, and finished the night with cake and presents.
