Hayes's Newborn Photos

I am really happy with how Hayes's newborn photos turned out.  It was a really stressful experience trying to make sure he was fed and sleepy at the right time, but I'm still glad we did it.  He is about 5 days old in these photos.
One of my favorite photos is the one of Nixon holding Hayes.  We were trying everything we could think of to make Nixon smile, but he wouldn't budge. I love it!

Hayes 1 Month

Height: 21.25 (33%)
Weight:9 lbs 15 oz (50%)
Head: 15.25

Well this has been a long month for us all. The kids have been acting out more than normal and Brady and I are ready for life to go back to normal.

Hayes has a hard time falling asleep for naps, but when he does fall asleep it’s for about an hour or two. However, he is still sleeping on Brady or I during that time. We need to work on transitioning him to his bed this month. At night he usually sleeps for 4 hours then wakes up to eat and goes down for another three hours. He wakes then up around 4 am to eat, and then has a hard time falling back asleep for another two to three hours. I’m hoping we can get him into his crib this month, and I will just sleep on a mattress in his room for a while.

He for sure has some bad reflux, but I’m hoping that goes away soon. Baby acne is also in full swing, and that started when he hit the 3 week mark.

He actually does pretty well being set down in his gym for about ten minutes....so that gives me a little break every now and then.

Overall I still don’t have very many things I will miss about this stage in his life, so I’m excited for him to get bigger.

Mike and Val Visit

My parents came to meet Hayes this past week, and it was a much needed break from survival mode for Brady and I.  My mom literally held Hayes every moment that he was awake and not eating.  They also took the kids to the zoo and on a few other small outings.  I cried quite a bit when they left because life was so much easier while they were here.

Halloween

My parents were here for Halloween, so that was fun for the kids.  I took the kids to a few houses on our street and then Brady and I switched and I stayed home to hand out candy with Hayes and my dad.  It was pretty chilling that night so the kids didn't last longer than an hour, but they sure got a lot of candy.
