Yesterday was graduation night dinner. I was there taking the photographs for Pubs again. The crowd seems far more elated then i expected. I only feel like an uninvited guest for some reason although i had the right to be there. I decided to leave early. Had band today anyway. I talked to Mr Lim about the project Gerald needed me on and i agree to it.
Today's music exchange was half terrible half good. For one i know the woodlands ring band members are a fun lot. But a one day music exchange is not going to be much good in making many friends or keeping in touch. At least 3 days.
The terrible part...I feel damn depressed. I messed up , i don't know how to get over the thought. i'm gonna hate myself for being so nervous and......nevermind i can't find the heart to be self insulted now.
I just hope nothing like this ever happens again but i hope we get to spend more time with woodlands ring. Quite a good bunch. We are just like them. We felt we messed up they felt they messed up and they felt we were good we thought so too. EVERYONE'S MESSED UP WHEE!!!.

Sunday, November 28, 2004The greatest day ever?
Yesterday was the greatest day ever. Starting from 9am where i was apprehensive on whether i should turn up for church visit to Silra home and then go for the bbq. I brought myself there and i proved myself wrong. I enjoyed it very much. After the visit we got a ride from Xavier's mother back to church where we had a few activities till 6. Heres what i did from what i did because i did'nt stay till 6.
We were led to a holding room. They played Whacko and charades there with the groups there were 7 groups of 4 or 5s. We had lunch and drinks there. Later group by group they went to the church attic to do something we did not know till we got there.
When it was our turn we were busy messing around by carrying greg's son and someone else carrying greg's daughter around and we were horsing around the room. When we went up they asked joel to follow them in and they told us to blind fold ourselves with bandannas. When we went it all "hell" broke loose. A great crescendo of voices shouting at the same time with people telling me to do any dance in 5 seconds or take off my shirt which i would not even want to comply with at all. I did night fever for them lol....then they told me to walk here and there and finially i reached a wall and they told me to turn right. They told me there was a ladder on the wall and i had to climb it. But what i could'nt see infront of me was a stack of chairs and i climbed the chairs. That really was not intended and gave them a fright. Sorry Guys and Girls i really did'nt know what the blazes you were talking abouts. After i got off i was told to walk around, crawl under chairs and then finially they told me to stop and stick out my arms and walk forward and hug the person infront whom i definately knew was one of my feminine group members i immediately withdrew my arms. After that they led us into a stairway and we took off our blind folds for awhile. A second of a break and we were back in and finially we reached the main door and the folds came off permanently. It turns out i was supposedly supposed to hug her but when i did'nt they told her to try and slap me twice but she slapped poor justin instead haha..
I led 2 other people. The first one i led was rather "violent" i tell her to turn a little bit she bangs through the chairs ahead and we had to arrange after her and give her instructions slowly. The second one was abit more blur. I did this one with another girl who was trying to give her an easy time. I complied. Through out the whole thing i was telling them I am your conscience. Listen to the voice heheh. Sadly afterwards i realised that a fellow group member one of the girls had sprained her arm after the course and was in some slight pain as i could see. Joel felt rather guilty for some reason. I told my catechist i had to leave and i said good bye to my members, knocking my group down to 3 able bodied members out of the original 5.
I went home changed into long pants and got the mashed potato out of the fridge and went to meet gyver outside prime mart. We took the bus to j8 and we went to bugis and met up with Josh, his brother and fk. We went to walk around Sim Lim to help FK get a new 3d card and rams. He bought a Radeon 9200 and some extra rams. We went to the bbq area and we waited till 6.15 till newwater arrived and later pffitz and then later ramius dropped off the rojak and had to rush off. Then Eagle and his wife came. FK who had not brought a dish redempted himself from the pool by going to by the wire gauze with the rest. Earlier we also found out that newwater's mum had bought a full grilling set, with skewer and large knife lol!
Pascal was a nice person to talk to. He gave very good advice on how to bbq things nicely. Then when the gauze came the barbeque started. Everyone tried the mashed potato and everyone enjoyed. With the comments were that it was cold and would be nicer hot and that i should have added bacon bits and extra butter. Dun Worry guys i won't forget!
I took a ride home with gyver and later went on to play dcf till 3.30am. Went to sleep after that.
Today it was Gaya's birthday celebration, banana choc cake. We went to Cal's place and had some good fun there. We watched a show called heavy weights. Funny stuff. We left at 5 and went to get dinner at kfc....mum's idea... we went to tp and i got a present for gaya and gave it to her just only. Now going to play dcf with the guys.

Friday, November 26, 2004Miricles and Pings
Today's band practice was as usual. The instructor came again and went through longford legend. We are doing Pilatus next week for the music exchange or so i heard. I actually PASSED the test for 1st movement with a B! This is a pure Miricle! I din't think i could do it at all. Although i got many mistakes i feel that at least i know where to improve on.
Apart from that.
John and Joanne came over today. John was so fascinated by CS Source's Graphics and went head over heels for it. Joanne did nothing more then play the piano and watch john.
Another thing is that while on Fragnetics server a few mins ago...an inconsiderate player with a ping/latency of 512 did not want to leave lagging the entire server. After he left my ping rose and i imediately left the server,I feel that if anyone pings that high i think that person should be considerate and leave.
Tommorow i gotta go for some singing practice for saturday in church. On Saturday morning i'll be going to Silra home again to tend to the lepers. I'll be leaving early because i promised the guys i'll be at the bbq.

Nothing much has happened recently. Today band practice as usual with the exception of the clarinet section leaving drills early for sectionals with the moulmein instructor. He's such a good player. Jeebs, nice sound and superb sight reading how does he do it....time.....
To add even more...The leaders introduced the new method of punishment. Embaressment for the people who skip band purposely. I don't really like the idea very much because its very humiliating. But sacrifices must be made to make those who don't turn up for their practices which are very important. I mean like its unfair for them to skip so they can go out, sleep or relax or whatever. Think about those who always go and go regularly. I don't blame them. People like the librarian i see the stress she goes through i understand if she needed a break but the other 3..its just dispicable. Go out with friends some more...haiz..
Later on we had combined and when it was my turn to go for the test for longford 1st movement, Mr Samuel was talking to Mrs Seah and he had no time to test me SWEET! I get to live 2 more days.
Talked to Aaron on the way to the bus stop. Aaron is actually a nicer person then he seems to be. Although he may seem to be violent sometimes he's a great lad.
I look forward for the [SAF] BBQ this saturday. I'll be getting the stuff to make the food on friday after band. Thursday is also the day i'll get my sec 3 books. Reading shall commence on the point of return to home.
Spent the last 2 days reading on Greek Mythology. The minute i saw the piece Mr Ivan handed out which was the Isle of Calypso i immediately noticed it was from Greek looking at the name and that it was from oddessy. Sirens....I can't believe its all like so co-incidental. I read on Greece and its gods and its battles and the next day we do a piece from the Trojan war which the greeks took part in? Too Coincidental. The world is getting too small.
Greek Mythology is very intresting and is also very colourful. To add even more the Greek and Roman Gods in those times were actually the same but with different names. Like Hermes the messenger was Mercury in Roman Mythology. It starts from Gaea the first god and mated with her son and had another son named Uranus who was later castrated by his son Cronus who later ate his children as he found out that he would be overthrown by one of his sons just like he did to his father. His Wife managed to save the God Zeus by wrapping a boulder and convinced Cronus that the boulder was Zeus. Eventually Zeus overthrew his father and banished him and the rest of the titans who sided with him into tartarus. Zeus and his 2 remaining brothers, Poseidon and Hades drew lots to who would command what part of their fathers rule. Zeus got the Sky , Poseidon got the Seas and Hades got the underworld and he became known as the king of the dead.
Zeus was the supreme god in greek mythology and by being so he had easy access to feed his lust. You got it right. Women. Zeus was married to his sister Hera, odd ain't it they married their siblings, but he also had many affairs with many women who were either goddeses or mortal women. He had a great deal of children the most well known may be Apollo and Artemis whom he had with the Titan Leto. Hera was a vengeful god and always found ways to vent her anger on the mistresses of Zeus by either making their lives difficult or killing them off. The truth behind Zeus's marriage with Hera suprisingly was'nt one of loving courting and whatnot. It was a cover up. Zeus was attracted to Hera but failed to court her. He tricked her and when he got her off guard he attacked and raped her. To cover the shame Hera married him, tragic aint it?.
The fates are also gods known in greek myths. They command the essences of life and death.
There are 3 of them. Clotho the spinner spins the thread of life. Lachesis who decides how the person would live and how long. Atropos in the end at the point of death would with her shears cut the thread of life.
When a person dies they are led by the god Hermes into the underworld where they cross the 5 rivers. They are the Acheron, the river of sadness, Cocytus, the river of lamentation, Lethe, the river of forgetfulness, Phlegethon, the river of fire and Styx, the river of hate. Then they would be judged of whether they would be fit to enter the better side of the underworld or the worst....
It is said that the fates are the most powerful of the gods, even though Zeus is the supreme god. He is also bound by the rules of the fates. Bummer huh?

Sunday, November 21, 2004Incredible
This is the text log of Ben. T, 21st November, Two Thousand and four.
I really should thank dad for those tickets to the incredibles for the movie last night. Really funny. Before the movie Nash, Sylvia, Eoin and myself went down to fareast to walk around before the movie. We had lunch at a turkish cafe. Quite good food. Nash also had his ear pierced and was cursing for not getting ear sticks first. After exploring abit of orchard we went to the Paragon to get snacks for the movie. Sent a message to Mr Ben Goh to meet us there for the movie. I make it a habit to bring a bag to help the group sneak food in heheh..shh...
We went to the 6th level and got the free combo set coupon redeemed. Really crowded when we got in. Then came the movie. Eoin left off here as he did'nt want to watch. Had 4 tickets only anyway. After the movie we took a 162 back to Sin Ming to have a minor dinner at the prata house. They installed CCTV in fear people will run away without paying heh.. Nash left after eating as he needed to get home. I met Ivan, Jade's Brother, and his mother. We talked a while and Mr Goh and Sylvia were leaving so i left together with them, with first saying good bye to Ivan and his mother.
Mr Goh left off and took the bus first. I talked with Sylvia for a while about things like history, science , next year's subjects and then i left off.
Apart from yesterday nothing has really changed apart from the fact that i have HALF - LIFE 2 in my hands! I just completed the Single Player campaign...gee what a sucky ending.. Gordon did'nt go free from that darn G-Man. The realism is really outstanding! The game Physics are astounding. Literally the whole environment acts as it would in reality. I expect better games then this soon. Half Life set a bench mark and half life 2 set another one. Well i'm off to kill a few terrorists or counter- terrorists in Counter Strike Source.

Wednesday, November 17, 2004Late.....
This morning i was told that my dad wanted me to get my ass out of the house instead of hailing the computer everyday(except for time away). He wanted me to get a job so i did go looking for one at Thomson Plaza. I tried every shop i could think of...Bata, 16 yrs, Starbucks 17 yrs, Delifrance 17 yrs, World of sports and Royal Sporting house 16 yrs , Popular Bookstore 15 yrs, KFC and BK 14yrs but full roster already, Video Ez 18 yrs, Pet Shop full roster also.
Haiz nowhere to work. I'll try getting a job in a computer shop if i could. I work best with computers.
Appeal to go to 3e2 was'nt even received, so i won't be taking bio. I'll be taking Physics next year...sigh...boring...I heard from Suren...Mrs Soo or Su....boring right?

Tuesday, November 16, 2004Yawn...just updating
Woke up today with the wierdest dream ever. I dreamt that i took someone's job as a CIA agent and ended up with winning a billion dollar prize. Whats wierd i had the family in it. Mum, Dad, Bro, Sis and her husband. Gee.. Wierd..imagine winning a billion dollar prize.
Anyway this morning went to school to find out if the results for sciences have realised and no...went home read the digital life paper and saw the article on half-life 2. Went down to the store to find it was'nt released yet and made a pre-order. I was told tommorow before 12 would the stocks arrive.
Went home and played Warcraft 3(out of boredom) and received a call from the shop saying that the disc would be on friday before 12 but i told them i'd collect it after 2 because of band pract.
Now just damn bored. I've been waiting for nearly 10 hours++ to download forgotten hope 0.65 and to add it needs another 8 HOURS!!
I hate the waiting....

Monday, November 15, 2004A wealth of knowledge
I spent the time at my nephew's place reading up on the Battle of Wake Island , Night of the Long Knives (nacht der langgen messer) and the revolution in Russia during 1918.
I spent nearly 1.5 hours alone on the battle of Wake Island. The men on that little island were doomed to surrender. A small island in the middle of the pacific with an uncompleted airbase with uncompleted defences stood against a full japanese fleet. Following nearly 5 air bombardments the men stood strong. Bombards from offshore japanese ships also made it worse. The two american submarines off the coast sunk one ship. Many other ships were sunk by the Shore Batteries on wake island.
A night assault by the Japanese came and within a few hours they had surrendered after a defense that lasted many weeks. No US reinforcements came to the marines on the island. There were no Airplanes left by the time the Japanese invaded the island on land. All of the Wildcats stationed on Wake Island were destroyed or damaged beyond repair.
Civilians also took up arms alongside the soldiers. Many of them were contractors or workers at the hotel on the island. After the surrender many of the contractors were held back while the rest went to POW camps. These Contractors that were left behind were later executed by the Japanese.
The Night of the Long Knives was also an instresting read. Ernst Roehm was the leader of the SA(Sturm Abteilung), Nazi Brownshirts. This party helped hitler rise to power and it was well known that Roehm was capable of toppling hitler and taking his position. Hitler's leaders , Goering, Himmler , Grubbel told him of this and Hitler became aware of the situation. Roehm was very socialist and many people complained of him and he had developed many enemies in the Nazi Party itself even though he was with hitler since the begining. The SA which outnumbered the regular German army by 2 -3 Million caused much anger among the army generals to them Hitler was only a Corporal. Hitler made a promise to the Generals of the army that if they became loyal to him he would remove the SA. Roehm was thinking about dissolving the German Regular army into the SA and that sparked much anger. Hitler put the army and the SS(schutz staffel) on alert for a putsch(revolution) by the SA. Hitler had placed an arrest on all the SA leaders. He traveled to where Ernst Roehm was staying. SS Guards had already cleared the house and caught one SA leader sleeping with a young boy from the SA. That leader was killed on the spot and Hitler himself went in to comfront Roehm and when he did he said "Roehm , you are under arrest". Most of the SA leaders were homosexual and Hitler used it against them by enforcing that the Nazis did not tolerate homosexuals. The soldiers in the SA were dissolved by the regular army as regular soldiers.
The 1918 Russian Revolution was also nice to read. Tsar Nicolas Romanov was greatly hated by many people within his nation. People like Lenin and other Marxists planned to revolt against his rule and when the Womens Association held a revolution the Marxists also joined in. Voices were heard shouting down with the german woman in refrence to Nicolas's wife. The next day factory workers had an even larger revolution and were even joined by university students. Police forces which were ment to disperse the crowd ended up being chased away because of their small numbers. Nicolas announced that anyone not back at work on Monday, the next working day, would be drafted into the army and sent to the frontlines. This did not stop the uprising. The tsar gave an order for units and even machinegun units to head towards petrograd while on his railway car. He later abdicated himself for the good of russia. He was arrested later and sent to his palace outside petrograd. He was placed in house arrest with the rest of his family. Nicholas and his wife, Alexandra, thought it best to go into exile, Nicholas hoping to be invited to England by his cousins – England's royal family. But English monarchy was hesitant to associate itself with the unpopular fallen tsar, and the invitation would never arrive. Another cousin, Germany's William II, offered Nicholas and his family safe passage through Germany but Nicolas was angry with William because of the war.
All this knowledge is just overwhelming and i need a rest. Not much report on what i did today.

Sunday, November 14, 2004What am i doing?
Hmm.....bored.....bored even more.
Today did nothing but play games the whole day...ok not the whole day. This morning , sis came and she was complaining about how her husband was very .... sloppy and lazy. I think i feel slightly guilty heheh.
Half life 2 out in Singapore in about 3 days.
Looking forward to get it soon.
With Band Pract next week thursday and only one session of practice under my belt( honestly i practiced only one time during the break so far).
Looks like i'll go back to school on tuesday instead to find out my science. Got 4 free tickets to the incredibles from dad. Just looking for 3 people to invite along. I have 2 choices. I shall not name them here.
I'm anxiously awaiting the term to start again. I need to get studying again all this idleness is killing me. No new books yet thats why.
Yesterday went to watch a movie with Mr Benedict Goh, the choir teacher, and Nash and Sylvia. We met Mr Greg too , he invited 6 of his students along as well. The Movie of the day was Shark Tale. Amazing Funny and Lame at the same time. Had i not gone i would never have seen the movie. It was stupidly funny.

Friday, November 12, 2004A face lift
I finially found time to "encourage" myself to give this thing a face lift and finially give it a new song....:P. Loch Lomond...
Well nothing much has happened these few days. I went to play golf again with Sylvia today. I say i can do constant 50 pluses on the range..with a woods though...i'll train with the iron next.
Dad's not home yet..he is coming back tommorow evening. So i guess i'll get my books and uniform another day.
I completed the ever so scary Doom 3. My arms are aching from playing like mad and from golfing. I swear i look darker too from the time i spend at the range.
Mum got me Generals Zero Hour 2 days ago. Its been ages since she ever got me a game. I appreciate it very much.
Haven't done much. Looking forward to reading my new books and seeing how i look in my new uniform next year...I know lah...very bo liao right?
Tien Yeh went to appeal with Mr Tay today. Yi Run had Similar grades to him and the same percentage but Yi run went to 3E2 but Tien Yeh went to 3e5. Even though he is my friend..somehow i think that he dosen't deserve to be in 3e1 or 2. He slacks in class too much and dosen't pay attention. He is constantly weak in his work. I think if he stays in 3e5 it would be a wake up call for him because he finds himself with no one to turn to, to teach him the right behavior in his own class. Sorry to say this Tien if you are reading this.
If i don't get bio i don't mind very much anyway. I'll still be able to take my desired course at Poly but i won't be jumping ahead..
Another thing...Just because i go out to play golf with a friend whom is a girl...go down to orchard to look at guitars and walk around at night with nothing to do and go back home..
Why is it the impression immediately is that...romance... is in the air?? I wish thoughts like these can just stop. Hell we barely spent much time talking about personal things. More towards friends , golf and thats about it. Mind when i say walk around orchard its more like exploring.
Hell we even met Nash at Chijmes. We even helped him give out his flyers which are for his Uncle's Pub downstairs at Chijmes.
Sigh....I'm tired...In truth i don't feel like doing anything but slacking until the term starts. Half of me even wants to boycott band when it starts again, but my sense of urgency tells me i must go and the other half agrees...i definately need a break where there is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to worry about.
Next year is going to be hell in BPS. Sec 3 life, Band Life, Syf, taking over as head of publications, having more juniors...how can i handle it... i wonder....

Today Band pract as usual with a vortrag from Herr Ivan. Wir did Longford Legend for sectionals and i can say we did alot better after the session.
We did Persis later which was very "Wunderbar" in the opposite meaning. No band pract for 10 days i heard and practice will resume next thursday. Spent the rest of the day playing comp.
Tommorow i'm going golfing at the range with Sylvia and probably Avinash too. I'm bring the entire golf bag of clubs. I wonder how i will lug it there and home again lolz....
Don't mind the german if you cant read its ok. Be used to seeing German on my posts occasionally.

This morning collected the streaming results.
By default i'm in 3e1 but i wanna take bio so i'm applying for a relocation to 3e2 bio.
Got the booklist too. Next Monday i'll know what subject science i'm taking.

After that had Jia wei , yi run and yi chao over. They went nuts over panzers phase one.
Apparently they could not even win one skirmish match with a computer opponent. Jia wei held out longest with 8.30 minutes.
Went back to school to see if i could apply for B syllabus for mt. Gotta check with a mdm chueng i'm told. Not that chueng i think. Later at around 1pm had tammy and sin ne over. They Sims 2 on my comp for nearly 6 hours.

I know i haven't updated in a while but heres the update.
Today went to a band practice. Now my school's by the way. I think its moulmein right?
Well anyway there we tried the pieces they played and they were DIFFICULT.
If you ever tried Symphonic Overture you'd probably spit blood the first time you saw it. In direct refrence , people who are not superbly skilled.
Hung out with the guys who went. Rahmat, Beth, Jaryl, Kai Li, Miao Qi, Fang Yu. We went to J8 after the practice. We literally did nothing but the first reason we were there was actually because Jaryl wanted to see a dog show. But sadly enough it was over when we got back haha. Jamal joined us later. Met Wai Lun there too. He looks just like his mother and father. Not exactly like but similar, you get what i mean.
Watched Blast from the past with mum. Really funny movie about this family who went to a fallout shelter thinking that a nuclear bomb dropped on their city. But actually there was no bomb. From 1962 to 1997 , they stayed there. They had a son called Adam. One day they needed supplies when the automatic door locks unlocked. Adam went up to find supplies and a wife. Its really funny watch it for yourself.
Finially completed Panzers Phase one. Next up...D-day! Then Soldiers, Heroes of World War 2!
That Russian Campaign was difficult.
Jee Whizes. Tommorow streaming postings. Good news for me. I know that i'll be in either 3E1 Or 3E2 because i've already seen the postings. I was not in the registers for 3e3,4 or 5.
That means its either. Just a little bit more and i know where i am. BIO or PHY, A Maths or POA. All will be known tommorow.
Well my plans for the holidays. Well one thing i know is that definately no jobbing for me. I'll be working myself up. Band, Reading(History), Preparing for next year's lessons(So Little Time So much to do) and Play. Very boring holiday, agree?

The Two men had much in common. Born in 1890, Dwight Eisenhower was one year older then Erwin Rommel. They grew up in samll towns, Eisenhower in Abilene, Kansas; Rommel In Gmund,Swabia. Eisenhower's father was a mechanic, Rommel's a schoolteacher. Both fathers were classic Germanic parents who imposed a harsh discipline on their sons, enforced by physical punishment. Both boys were avid athletes. Eisenhower's sports were football and baseball, Romme's Cycling, tennis, skating, rowing, and skiing. Although neither had a military tradition, each boy went off to military school; in 1910 Rommel entered the Royal officer cadet school in Danzig, while Eisenhower in 1911 went to the U.S Military Academy at West Point.
From this extract we learn that Eisenhower and Rommel were similar in some ways. Both were disciplined, atheltes and military men for a long time. But their lives during the war was different. Eisenhower became President of the United States of America but Rommel did not survive the war. He joined a plot to assasinate Hitler to end the war. He was caught and given the choice of suicide with the reason of death as death of wounds or executed for treason, he chose suicide.
Think of it if the plot to assasinate Hitler was successful the sequence of events all the way to this time would have changed. The war would have ended early and many men who died would have lived.
In either way both men were great leaders. No matter which side you are on, great leaders should be remembered.

Thursday, November 04, 2004Different from others
Well well well. Today was definately alot different then other days. Band practice was more fun then ever. Sectionals too. However the key to the improvement of the 2nd and 3rd clarinets is a secret that will only be known to the section heh. Today i deem it to be called "The Longest Day"
To be straight forward this was the longest day of band. Starting from 7.45 practice to the 9.30 performance. The entertainer was a train wreck... at least our audience did'nt notice...i think. Otherwise its was ok. The emcee part of it done by eoin and myself was great. Seeing those little kiddies running around carefree...brings back the days....
But this is the year 2004. No time to look back. The days of 1997-2002 are gone and will only exist as a memories....
I believe that next year will be a hectic year. SYF, Sec 3 life and the life after the annual concert.
Its the time to shoulder more pressure. I just hope i'm wrong in what i believe.
I hope i get into 3e2.

I'm so bored these few days. The set piece for SYF was not that bad...Singapore Rhapsody. Tommorow got a band practice for thursday's performance at kuo chuan. I really need a new game to play. I anticipate half-life 2's release. I want to get D-day, Panzers phase one, Soldiers, half life 2, halo 2 and battlefield 2.

Anticipation and others
Well one thing is that there are many things to anticipate. Firstly i can't wait for half life 2 at all, i desperately need to play it lolz. Halo 2 as well. I just wanan know what happened to master chief.
Games aside now.
I've been bored for a few days straight , outta games to play heh.
Yesterday went out with gyver since 4 to 9 and played with him at the lan shop.
Theres only one difference in playing at home and at the lan shop. The people.
The people there are always friendly and are always nice to talk to.
Waiting for Gaya to return with breakfast and waiting for band to start at 1.30.
Next year i aint gonna wear those blue long pants. White is better, better material too.
Streaming results released next week i just can't wait to see where i got to. PLEASE BE 3E2!
Studies aside and outings aside.
I wonder who is gonna win the election. I have changed my stance to be with KERRY!.
Although Mr Bush has just won over florida, i believe kerry can still win.
