Final stretch
Concert week...Friday is the show down....Tuesday last practice...god this is pressurizing....I just practiced tenor sax today...hopefully what i practice now will pay off then....
Lots of stuff this week to tend to...Monday thru Saturday will be real busy....Monday, NP band pract, Tuesday, BPS band pract, Wednesday Flute sectionals, Thursday, NP band pract, Friday BPS performance at SCH, Sat Band Pract again....its going to be one hell of a long week...very long....
The mice will have to die this Friday...so sad...we took care of them since week 1 of year 2...but i guess its in the name of science...God forgive us for what we're going to do....
Science and religion...theres always that friction between knowledge and ethics....
Ok its late ....have to sleep or i'll be snoring in front of Dr Lim in the morning...

Saturday, June 28, 2008Of a not so distant past....and other pressing matters
Well, it seems ghosts of a not so distant past have come back to haunt me again.....I don't know who you are or what your intention there was....but it really dosen't make me feel much better even before your second message. Things have moved on from there.....
Oueve 4 is in 6 days time....my last practice is on Tuesday...hopefully i can pull through this one...those rhythms are kinda hard to adjust to...
If all goes well...lets just say we'll have a reunion of old faces and friends...its been a long time. Those jolly days long ago....
Last Thursday I left for school early at the usual time of 6.45am..judging as that i would have class only at 1pm. When i got to the usual place, Gary's laptop was malfunctioning...I volunteered to get it back up and running...it took from 8-12pm to get it to work again...in that time...I heard some familiar tunes on Radio Heatwave...including the well known song from "Music and Lyrics", "Way back into love"...
With a real catchy tune and a superb melody...it caught my ear and has been in my head for 3 days now....
Without much further thought i knew what i wanted to transcribe for the ensemble the next time we perform...and that was it.
With the piano score located and notated. Now is the time where i can start figuring new parts and find a way to make the song much more original...I have about...another 4 months to work..so that's no rush...
On that note..I'm seriously going broke...with just $61 left in the account and $50 top ups each week...It just means I gotta cut back on expenditure real good...or i could just simply get a job...but time is precious and the projects are going to be due...the semester end papers will be here soon too....
Speaking of papers....I didn't do too well in the recent CTs...25/50 for CCTA (judging most failed i think this isn't actually too bad hmm...but i suspect mercy from Dr Lee), 66.5/100 for MMB (Got 4.5 marks extra after checking papers..), my memory eludes me but I recall a B grade for Immuno....and finally I don't know the results for aquaculture...but hearing the comments from Dr Nevil makes my blood run cold...lots of borderline cases....which i EXPECT means much more failures to complement the borderlines or alot of moderation to pass the near failures...
Things just can't get any worse...
SIBF in about 3-4 weeks....strive and be the best you can be guys....let's do NPCB and NP proud!

Another random title...
Anyway nothing much has gone on, MIRACULOUSLY passed CCTA...25/50 -_-.....passed MMB 66.5/100...I'm betting i'll fail aquaculture but not immunology...
Preparations for 24th July is coming along nicely...everyone's real down for it.....hopefully we do well....
Right now for affairs of the heart i would guess that its like as though it went into silent mode...don't feel anything these days...well I guess i'm just waiting for that special gal....if there is one for me anyway...no matter

Ok the title for the post is kinda pointless....just felt like typing it there. Sounds funny in a way...
I spent most of the remaining days of the holidays watching cartoons...or at least one anyway. This cartoon was an all time favourite of both my brother and myself. "Extreme Ghostbusters", my favourite cartoon!
I was on the phone with Gary earlier and to what a suprise. He liked the show too!
Well anyway the past few days have gone by PRETTY fast....so I'll try to be detailed....
Monday, sent laptop to be repaired. Cracked LCD casing and the intermitent sound problems. Walked around Funan abit before heading home.
Tuesday, went for BPS band practice for Ouerve 4. Played Bass clarinet and left at 11.45 for flute sectionals at 1pm. Had sax lesson in the evening.
Wednesday, stayed home to rot
Thursday, Attended BPS band prac...Zao Ji came back...got shifted to Tenor Saxophone for Oueve 4...wildcard mumble mumble...went for comm meeting and a few games of pool...found an Mp3 player
Friday, met Dad's friend Bryan, who helped set up the equipment. Met Gary at AMK hub at 3.30pm and went to watch Zohan with Han Yong, Gary, Joshua and Yi Yang...later we watched Get Smart....the group sorta expanded too...
Saturday, Band prac and pool....and spent the day watching cartoons...
Sunday, Woke up late for mass...7.45am....woke up to a dream telling me to WAKE UP! After prac went out with Brennan to TP (at the same time with his cousin Vanessa). Had a nice long chat with Bren at subway after Vanessa left. Sorry if i seemed very detached today bro...
Continued with cartoons.....had Rocky's pizza for dinner...it is teh l337 pizza dude. 16 inches of pure goodness.
Monday, to be written.....as today IS monday hahaha....perhaps i could add typed this?
Anyway aside from the daily journal.....recently i've been doing some thinkin....why are some people apparently more fortunate at matters of the heart? I've talked to some of my maties and one of the things that bothers us some of us single guys is that...whenever you see a couple...you tell yourself...why couldn't that be me?
I'm not desperate here but why couldn't it be me?
Recently I've also tried to be more alert about people's actions around me...
Am I too nice that i might send the wrong message?
Why did i feel that gaze?
Disturbing it is...........well anyway i can't afford to lose sleep over matters of the heart...CA 2 and end of sems in about 2 months and less...SIBF in about 1 month....Oueve 4 in 1 or 2 weeks...

Phew wee the concert is over..well at least it was 4 days ago now. Now the next big stride.....SIBF...this won't be easy...upcoming too ...Oueve 4 and finally semester end papers...damn this is scary...so fast....
I know i haven't been updating...not like anyone reads this space much anyway...who would read how i spent my day anyway?
Its been a long while and alot of things have happened in the time i wasn't blogging. Laptop's at the store getting a fix....so now stuck on bro's lappy....well....i'm sorta bored to death these days...but there are perks of being free...for now...I still got that project on vibrio vulnificus to do anyway...

Well this is another photojournal....This here was an antibiotic plate that was seeded a few weeks back. I took a picture of it cause it shows very OBVIOUS zones of clearance.
Ah pool again? Whats this Christian playing pool? Wow....anyway the line of balls infront of the camera are all stripes and wow they are Christian's by the way...what a way to play haha.
Now this wasn't intentional but all the balls on the table were in pentagon shape. How interesting how shapes just come up every now and then.
This was what we did for Aquaculture lab the other day....I serious DID NOT enjoy doing this...it was very very eh...and VERY putrid...18 of these suckers were opened up in class and you can imagine the stench....it was TERRIBLE.
That same day...SONNY ROLLINS CONCERT!! WOO HOO! I managed to get a shot before the concert started. It was a fabulous concert with Sonny Rollin's playin an old hit of his... St Thomas!There was did dude sitting next to me and Hsin Hui that was taking pictures with his camera phone without muting the sound of the camera...the usher was just next to me and could hear him snapping away and told the guy off...gee what an idiot lol...nobody takes pictures and lets everyone know they are. How ignorant can one get lol...and the sign at the door said NO PHOTOGRAPHY haha....
Ok common test tmr....better sleep early....MMB here i come!
