Careless talk

Now, if there are any readers left, you'd be wondering whats with all the careless talk?
Simple....whenever something should be kept quiet...people tend to open their mouths about it and this causes problems....

Careless talk kills, hurts or destroys.
Theres more to careless talk then people think. The more you talk about something, the more someone outside can put it together to make sense of it.

Blogs, emails left open on computer screens, msn chat logs, loud discussions and leaking of classified information. Its all forms of careless talk. You tell someone, someone tells another someone and someone tells another someone and it reaches your enemy's ears.
So don't say things that need not be said. Keep things quiet and they'll stay quiet. Don't look for trouble if it isn't looking for you.
Its like they say, keep it to yourself...
No one can be power hungry if they didn't want power in the first place. Don't mistake a thrust of good intention as a lust for power.

Careless talk is dangerous.

Have you been careless talking today?

Just a normal day

Well today went ...ok, since by no other means is it abnormal.

Lesson as usual, nearly fell asleep in both OC and CB.
Collected the NP Prestige card with the guys earlier from Student Plaza, Ritzwan was manning the "booth" and stopped to have a chat with him.

Was supposed to study with Hali and Joshua but Josh had to rush off and Hali pang seh me.....on the way to meet them anyway I decided to have a Chicken Spud from the deli. When i was walking out and about to take my second bite of that scrumptious spud, I nearly collided into someone in bright orange. I heard an "Eh, Hi!" and looked up to see Clarice. Apparently she had a toastmasters meeting today and decided to get a bite. We chatted for a while but I had to rush off (not knowing that Hali was going to pang seh me la...wah lao eh you) and Clarice went on her way to get some chomp chomp ( in John's terminology it means something to eat , i guess i adopted it ).

Well i stuck around till 5 anyway and low and behold on the way home i met Ritzwan AGAIN on the 52 back home. We had a jolly old talk till McRitchie and he got off. Since I've gotten home, I've been doing stats on Microsoft Excel in response to tomorrow's stats test. What a bugger....

Doesn't help that there's that CB test on Wednesday as well as the IT project presentation...sigh...

Remember things as they were, not as they are

The days of peace are over and these are turbulent times.

Political struggle never really seeks to come to a mutual understanding to any problem. It always results in one of two things. The ultimate destruction of the other and the survivors leaving the battle fighting not their opponents but their own friends or it could also mean the ultimate destruction of the whole and the failure of both parties to reconcile to come even to a win-lose resolution but a lose-lose resolution. More often it's the first that occurs.

Trite but true friendships end in political strife. Between the former friends in opposing camps and the former friends in the camp that loses. War never leaves anything intact. Think of a magnificent city, blown into rubble and brimstone by a rain of artillery shells. What might have taken years of labour to build was destroyed in a matter of seconds. It happens often. Amidst the ashes and the ruins, one can only stand up and imagine what was and remember it. They can try to build the city the same way it was before but that would have been impossible physically or they could make do with what they had and worked with them.

Imagine a man waking up amongst the ruin of his house, his wife and children dead, he goes across the street to find his neighbour crushed underneath a falling chunk of the ceiling. He dials his friend's numbers only to get no answer. He is but alone in this grim aftermath...but wait...he hears a voice! He runs to the source to find a man just as lonesome as he is. Now just wait a second, that man was the rude store clerk that had given him the finger the other day. However in such a grim situation no one wants to be alone even if its with people you don't like or normally can't stand. It beats being alone.

It is amongst the people who live on to fight another day who become your allies not the people who have gone. A future has to be made to survive. You work with whoever is left.

I have given too much in just this one academic year to just throw it away. I want to see it through not for my own benefit but for the benefit of all who are left.

Then there are the aid workers from other cities of course......

You don't call a person who works with a former enemy a traitor to his former cause, you call him a strategist.

Fighting the enemy even amongst the destruction creates not but more destruction. Think of it strategically. Even enemies are friends if you have a common goal.

Friends who don't share a common goal can still be friends

A friend that forces his goal upon another, is not a friend but a dictator.

Friendship is like a democracy, with everyone coming together to make a decision, everyone is still entitled their point of view. Even if you do not have the same view, democracy ensures the most wins but the differences are not ignored. A friendship which expects complete unity, is not a democracy, it's a police state.

And so it comes to pass that great wall of mistrust is built, not between enemies but former friends. The world is set, the iron curtain in place and the cold war has begun....

This is so cold warish...Communist Russia vs the USA....so history like la!

Mindless Imbeciles

You call me childish, say I'm unable to make a decision right what about you?

Childish enough to leave just because you've lost?

Where are your frickin responsibilities. I care not for the real story, i care only for this band. I care only for the people that stay on in it. I care for Mr Tan. Whether you leave or not its YOUR choice. I feel betrayed because just because you lost your little political war you guys wanna leave. Leaving is but SELFISH and a CHILDISH resort. I expected more from all of you. The band needs you to stay on NOW more than ever. Leaving will not help the people who are trying to stay on to make the band a better place. I don't care if you call me unable to make a stand. I have made my stand. Its right here with the band no matter who won. Regardless if i was against KK's original plan, I'm not angry with him that he wanted to take over but the childishness of YOUR actions as well as everyone else that night that pisses me off big time. You guys think you're making a hell of a good decision to leave together, Fools i say you are. That way you're just doing what KK wanted you to do. Leave and let him reign. Fools yall are. Thats what makes me angry. I hope ALL of you read this.

I'm not against or for Kenneth. I just want to band to live on and you guys are NOT helping with this one bit.

A sad ending

On April 22, 2007. A group of teenagers who have never met in their entire lives met each other for the first time at a bus stop in clement. It was to be the first day in an activity so familiar to all of them. This boy met with people who he felt were the nicest people to have in his section to last the 3 years with. The practices went by and a new girl came. She joined the band slightly later than the rest of those who came on April 22. Things went well but slowly, people left unable to take the pressure. Soon it was down to just 5 individuals in this one section that made it through a concert on 30th June together. 1 took her leave to put her focus on other things. These 5 people met many interesting people in the course of time who they called friends. 3 guys. The remaining 4 worked with their seniors to have another concert the 5th of January 2008. However disaster struck and then now there is but one little sailor boy. Braving the stormy seas alone. Forsaken by the people he once called friends. Fools in their own right to have made such childish decisions. This sailor once had his "friends" sitting at a table on the night of the 31st of December. These people were the same ones who would betray him later on in all their childishness.

What a sad day it is for those who made a bad choice. I have nothing more to say to my "friends" for it makes me wonder if they were really "friends" to begin with. Or perhaps..."Friends" of convenience.....

Generic title

I think there has been a previous post by this title some time back...anyway....

Met Lance this morning on the bus, for the second time in two days! Yesterday at least we could stop and have a merry chat today we were in a rush. I had CB practical at 8 and he SnW at the same time.

On the way to school we saw this old lady that was like talking to herself the whole way?

We were like wth? She got a screw loose or what?

Today class wasn't that interesting...stats is MAD! Look at the rows of figures to be added...its like zomg bbq wtf?

After the last lesson for the day i took a walk down to the bus stop with Peter and Clarice. Pete left off and crossed over leaving me with Clarice, with whom i had a short conversation about infotech until her bus came. I boarded the bus only to meet Darren again haha..we had a nice chat all the way back home. Saw Vanessa from church at Thomson Plaza bus stop. Man she hasn't changed one bit. Still looks like how i remembered her a year or two back.

Well today, i finished stats, wooptedoo. I got the screen shots for the dlink router, I went to kor bob's and che's place. Che was actually suggesting that i could have just stood outside door if i needed the screen shots so badly haha...

Well its officially Wednesday now. Groove 08 is today, i wish whoever is performing good luck, sorry i can't be there. Sure'll you do fine without me.

Work work work is what its all about..maybe a bit of eye candy and a skip of a heart beat every now and then yeah....time to go to bed...lots of work to finish tomorrow.

Mountains and Mountaineers

Mountains and mountains of Stats homework....I feel like a friggin mountaineer climbing up the mountains, and finishing all the questions on the way....so tired.....argh...
I tried playing some DOW for entertainment but its lost it's fun factor some time ago already...Whats left of the mountains are questions which i have no clue how to do.....damn...I wish the exams would end soon.........I want holidays.......

1/21/2008 10:41:00 pm

The things I want

For the holidays to come...

For an infinite amount of cash

To possess all worldly and spiritual possessions to be had...

To be blessed with intellect beyond all measure

To have a good physique

To have the most slippery and hard to get thing in the world.....as well as hard to please anyway...

To be proficient in all skills called desirable...

....

Sigh i want too many things...but the thing i want most is the hardest to get thing on earth...try thinking about it...the funniest thing is when asked whats the thing you want most in the world by the person who can give it to you, you deny it all. Well, obviously it sounds stupid to ask such a request wouldn't it? What kind of a person is so direct about these things?

Its for these kind of people that the things you do suddenly become unimportant and you just wish to be a better person....sigh...I need rest...the past few days have been killing me, scoring, preparing the woodwind ensemble for performance, manning the booth, rushing school work.....sigh...doesn't help that i failed my 15% stats test....with 24% out of 100...thats like only ...3% of 15%....argh...hate stress......hate stress....must keep cool...

Thank god that the performances are over, the open house is over...now i'm left with School work, Projects and lets see what else comes up over the next few days..this is not the end of things i bet...

Inner Sanctum

Well today the FOC comm did it's shopping for tomorrow's open house. The scores are ready and so are we. After class I took a walk down with the guys but they went off in another direction and I instead took a walk to the bus stop with Clarice. Had a nice chap and as we were passing the street soccer court suddenly Kexin and Belinda came out from the toilet and Kexin shouted something inaudible to me (only to find out later it was WAH HAIRCUT?)

We waited for Mitchell and deciding it was best not to pang sei friends, i continued chatting with Clarice. Her bus came as the group started walking off. We ate at KFC after that and did the shopping and took a long walk back to NP to discuss about tomorrow. I'm just plain eager. However I feel stressed that things might not go right...

Tuesday went well, enough said though that sugar and coffee mate meatball did not bode well with me.

Well time to sleep. Good night..

The day before

So tomorrow is the performance already, I hope they are ready. I think they sound fabulous and enough to be a good display of the standard. I might not be playing with you guys but it has been an honour to lead you guys for practice. Tomorrow you shall hear the efforts that you yourselves have put in. I pray that it will be a good show. The next time I'll want to be right there with you guys.

But for now, I'm none but the arranger.

Kinda feel abit left out but it's alright with me. I put my friends before myself. Makes me feel like a one man stage crew. Haha....Ok that settles time to go to bed...if not I can't get up.

Giving it a try

Saw this on Alfred's blog, just for fun too hahaha...

IF YOUR LIFE WERE A MOVIE, WHAT WOULD THE SOUNDTRACK BE?
So, here's how it works:
1. Open your library (iTunes, Winamp, Media Player, iPod, iPaq etc)
2. Put it on shuffle
3. Press play
4. For every question, type the song that's playing
5. When you go to a new question, press the next button
6. Don't lie and try to pretend you're cool… (hahaha)

01 - OPENING CREDITS: No Importa La Distance (I can go the distance in Spanish) – Ricky Martin/Michael Bolton

Ok...thats just odd...

02 - WAKING UP: How Long – The Eagles
How long it takes to wake up? Gee....

03 - FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL: Blow me away – Breaking Benjamin
Ok...thats just interesting..i barely see the first day of school literally blowing me away..

04 - FALLING IN LOVE: Don't dream it's over – 6Pence none the richer
Um....that doesn't make sense

05 - FIGHT SONG: All about soul – Billy Joel
Hmm Soul fighting?

06 - BREAKING UP: Leaving on a jet plane – Mamas and Papas
Ok that just sucks..lol

07 - PROM: Da Doo Ron Ron - Crystals
Hmm...is it just me or this isn't making sense...

08 - LIFE: I dreamt there was no war – The Eagles
Well that would make me a advocate of peace right?

09 - MENTAL BREAKDOWN: Love – Michael Buble
Um kinda out of sync?

10 - DRIVING: Fortunate Son – Creedence Clearwater

Cool does that mean i get a nice car?

11 - FLASHBACK: Temple of the king - Rainbow
Hmm..maybe this make sense...

12 - WEDDING: Waterloo- Abba
Um like what? Does that mean I'll be in waterloo when i get married?

13 - BIRTH OF CHILD: After the love is gone – Earth, Wind and Fire
Ok this does not bode well...

14 - FINAL BATTLE: Rat Race – From the movie of the same name..
Ok this is just funny!

15 - DEATH SCENE: You're not alone - Eagles
Really? So does that mean my friends and family come with me?

16 - FUNERAL SONG: Streets of London – Ralph McTell
Ok, that's just odd..I was born in Singapore, married in waterloo and died in London?

17 - END CREDITS: She's the one – Robbie Williams

Ok thats just sweet..unless my movie was about my wife and me fighting..cause thats just sad.

For one thing i can tell...My playlist tends to like the eagles an awful lot hmm..3 times..

Hey, Alfred you know this is kinda fun!

False Prophet

Yes my friends, the end times are near. The false prophet has come. He has come as the great deceiver. Who would have known such bloody deeds?

Just like the bible hath said regarding false prophets...

Mat 7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

Mat 24:11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.

The great masses of the people... Will more easily fall victims to a big lie than to a small one – Adolf Hitler

He who declares salvation to the many have instead brought doom to us all.

In the darkest of our days, we pray for peace and justice to be done.

The oppressed shall speak the truth. The many will come and sweep away all that evil has tainted.

Like the end times of many great empires. Many new ones will rise in its place. This domain is no more but a mark in the long line of the world's history.

Revolutionaries become those that they once revolted and they themselves will see the same evil done upon them.

The voice of the people is not that of those who discuss matters but those who are affected by it.

The war hath begun and the false prophet has started his work. May god help us all who hope only for the best.

May those who long for justice remain true and may the false prophet do no more harm.

Forgiveness will be given to those who repent.

Bleak isn't it?

Yep, Alfred another cryptic post.

Fire among the bushes and war behind our lines

So now the drought has finally sparked an incident that without water will never cease. Like a wild bushfire...it will spread and spread, causing destruction in its wake. It just doesn't help to know that the reason for the wildfires are if not odd enough are personal or selfish reasons?

War just hit beyond the front lines. In a time where we are so used to seeing the threat directly in front of us, it stuns us to know that we just got attacked from behind. Now that the war has hit behind the lines of safety what does one do?

Just like the bushfire, war leaves only destruction in its wake.

When the war or fire was caused for personal or selfish reasons fuelled by nothing more than pride or perhaps feelings, nothing good can come of it. A disaster in the making. It can make Allies fight and grip at each other's throats. It will cause instability and unhappiness. That's what is going on. Although i won't say which situation this actually refers to, its something that in its entirety barely involves me and thus i should remain out of it. While I'm always open to a deserving person, who's been hurt or traumatised, I will not tolerate instability in my social circles.

Someone give the poor lady a break, she needs it more than anyone.

This feels like the Allies policy of appeasement in WWII.

Life goes on this way, CCA, project, friends, CCA, friends, projects, school work, CCA, project, friends, School work. There's barely time for play games or chill out and relax...

For those who've been reading my PMs. Where is that full stop? And When will there be any damn peace?

A day to remember
Concert day came and went really fast. We went through alot of hardwork just to get here but yet we did it. Some of us screwed up abit here and there but we pulled through. I've never been more proud to be an NP band member. However.....those MCs are shit...so FAKE. Lousy stage crew from SCH also la. So bloody rude the whole lot of them. Their stage made in china so they scared break dun allow people to lean on it.

Today was not the best of days. I got 3/20 for my practical like wtf? Philbert didn't do too well either...6.5 haha.. anyway the wood wind ensemble practice because more of parts familiarisation. Too many people could'nt make it. Hopefully wednesday and thursday are more fruitful.

To the person that she herself would know, if you have problems you can always talk to us. We're here for you. Best of regards to you.

Ok anyway alot of work to catch up on. Really tired....

How i spent my last minutes of 2007

Whole new year....another Five hundred and twenty five thousand minutes to 2009 and a even more seemingly endless amount of possibilities of how to spend this year.

The last minutes of 2007 were spent with a group of friends who haven't really known for very long. In fact a little less than a whole year. These people are none other than my fellows from Ngee Ann Concert Band.

Belinda, Mitchell, Joshua, Gary, Aloysius and Kenneth Koh. An odd thing really how doing the same thing and working for the same goals would make almost total strangers become people who trust each other in under a year.

So it started with a dinner at my place. Curry, Rice, Potato thingies, Sausages, Egg and some Chinese alcohol with sprite. We played a few board games, watched an episode of little Britain. Mind we played Jenga and Risk that day. What a way to spend new year's eve.

Regardless no one wanted to spend their last minutes of 2007 playing risk so we took a walk out to Thomson CC thinking there'd be a party. There wasn't and we ended up outside liquid's cafe and spent the last 3 minutes at the traffic junction outside the shell station and liquid cafe. It was right there we ended 2007 and ushered 2008 with handshake a few greetings.

Ken Koh departed our group just half an hour after meeting us. The rest of us went for some night prate. I met Hamli there. Nice to see you bud.

We took a walk to Thomson Plaza to wait for Belinda's brother to fetch Mitch and her home. I met Jarvis, Joey and Sam there of all places at starbucks. The guys eventually found their own way home and I waited for the girls to leave finally at 2am+ ....

Went to sleep and woke up in the morning at 8.45 to a call from Philbert to go to school to do the project. Which we did do throughout the day. We had breakfast at KAP and worked at the atrium. Karmen was there as well working with her own compadres. She arrived about a few minutes after us I'd say? I turned around and thought she was Joyce but IDed her as soon as she turned around. My phone apparently gave me away. Bao Ren was down as well with Clarice and Hui Fang. We saw Nithya, Alfred and Jaslyn as well.

Anyway Philbert and I spent a whole lot of time just working on the damn project. We finally left at around 4 and I got home around 5. To do stats and other stuff. We gotta do a whole lot more work later during the 3 hour break. Ah the 2nd day of 2008 already....how i hate to think about it...1 year is gone already...

I just hope 2008 will be better. I expected to end 2007 with something else. Sigh....

Lets do this thing...
