Long time
Its been ages since my last entry so I think now the time is ripe to put up an entry. The days are passing by REAL slow and boredom since Holidays started + 1 day. Easter celebrations were a blast but I have that gut feeling about Saturday itself anyway......Sunday mass was fabulous, recordings were good too.
On Monday I went out with Hsin Hui to the Esplanade Library to get some scores. Joshua, Conrad and Kenneth were there too so we sorta hung around for a while and we had Carl's Jr for lunch.
I borrowed the entire BWV 1067 by JS Bach "Suite No 2 in B Minor", a baroque flute book and the full scores for Brandenburg Concerto 2 and 4. People will probably ask me why the hell I'd borrow brandenburg concertos...I say for fun and to see how the scores really look like.
The goal now is to be able to play the whole of BWV 1067 from Bouree 1 to Badinerie with bro. Its not so difficult but it requires massive co-ordination though an exception is the last movement "Badinerie" due to its speed and technical demands it requires from the player.
Tuesday was a great day. Although i woke up at like 12pm and spent most of the day slacking, I went out with some old friends in the evening for Sushi. At around 6 I received a message from Hui Han about dinner...having no food on the table anyway and half thinking of a sub...why not sushi for a change...so i went. While on the way i met Patrick on the bus and we had a nice chat. Upon reaching AMK Central, I msged her to ask where to meet up after telling her i was at the bus stop NEAR Mcdonalds she quickly assumed i WAS at Macdonalds. 2 mins after, Magnum calls and asks me if I'm at the bus stop or the Macdonalds...and someone in the background in an ALL TOO DISTINCTIVE voice yelled..ARE YOU SURE OR NOT?
Sure enough when I met the group, my guess was correct. Su Qi and Su Ying..
Well anyway so our dinner "party" consisted of Hui Han, Su Qi, Su Ying, Kelly, Zi Yun, Magnum and myself. We had a dashing great time catching up on old times and telling jokes, the food was good too long time since I've had sushi.
I must say I enjoyed myself a whole lot for nothing beats the company of good friends whom you've not met in a while.
NOTE: Not saying I don't enjoy the company of my good friends if i do meet them regularly. Just that you feel happy after meeting with friends who were out of touch ya know?
Anyway IS enrollment at 8am. Better be sharp and square so i better sleep soon. Night..

Friday, March 21, 2008The watcher
After reading so much on body language the past few days...I've noticed that in fact it is true. The longer you know a person the more likely they are to copy you in your proximity if you're the next person they know best.
Males though try never to be the same as another guy but in a series of half actions males tend to copy each other without thinking and subconsciously do but with varying degrees.
Women however tend to copy men more often and almost in perfect synchronization. Though I think this might be the other way too.
You have to admit that being able to read body language is an important skill to determine the level of interest a person has in you, the level of trust the person has and other such unspoken things.
Though sometimes knowing this might make a person edgy about the other it is useful in predicting the next move.
I intend to test some of the theories i learnt in action one of these days. Would be useful if i could test it on both genders discreetly.
*Note: Guys and Gals who read this, If i happen to choose you as someone i intend to test the theories on. Don't be unnerved. You probably wouldn't know I was anyway haha.*
Sometimes it's fun to just sit and watch other people. *Not Voyeurism alright?*

Saturday, March 15, 2008Results..BLAH
2.75 AH!!! Worse by 0.1 than previous sem. This sucks...but at least i feel better about something. Guess i took the cue from the first message of "Hey how'd you do for exams?" and sorta started up. Feeling good about it though...
Well went back to BPS this morning to help out. I tried Khoo Boon's saxophone. I still don't get it. Why is it everyone's saxophone sounds and behaves better than my own!? Like wth?
Gotta get to the bottom of this...
Mum just brought me on a shopping spree on Thursday. Now I've got so much new clothes in my wardrobe it's like I got an extreme wardrobe makeover. A nice new jacket too, so cool!
I also got a Goldlion wallet to replace my torn tattered Polo wallet.
Curse the sweltering weather in SG though. I rather freeze because at least you can put on more clothes to be warmer but you can't take off anything more if it's too warm.
Was watching "Plane Dead" with mum earlier but she fell asleep though...it was quite nice and action packed but sort of ended with the typical "They'll be back for more" ending.
Just hate those kind of endings. Just the same way that show about ants on a plane...whats it called..Swarm ...yes...
Its so typical how the government in the show always seems to want to blow up the plane but somehow they get it to land and save the civvies. So like normal huh?
Well probably should get to sleep soon...i slept in the afternoon after saxophone lesson so i'm not really tired. I got Poly band in the morning so yeah gotta be up for it....feel like having a can of Spam for breakfast....hmm...

Monday, March 10, 2008Probably missing out
Ah darn sometimes I get that feeling I'm missing out a whole great deal of things and not getting things which are worth missing others. Sigh...Its been a intensive 4 days. Went to the IT fair for each of it was around.
Yesterday I went for dinner with mum and bro after going down to the fair with John, Jess and Joven. We ate at "The Ship". Nice place to eat, we've not eaten there since like 2006?

Thursday, March 06, 2008A new stride
I realised now after testing for two days the effects of dropping all defensive postures. By taking on an open stance, people are more likely to reciprocate and be more open towards you. Don't take postures which are defensive like crossing arms when sitting, having a straight face or being quiet. Be outgoing, open and friendly and people will be that way too.
I really feel like I'm really happy these days even though nothing new has happened, nothing fabulously good either. It just seems that life is enjoyable now. I seem to be making the best of things and things are just being great.
21st February was Joven's birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY! :D :D :D
Tuesday was Pei Yi's birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Today was Julian's birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Sunday I had pract for Easter Mass at 1pm and went out with Joven to Wheel Lock place to buy Pei Yi's present. We later had a Carl's Jr lunch which I payed for. Don't feel bad buddy, someday you'll pay me and Bren back for the times we treat you :)
On Tuesday I attended Pei Yi's birthday party at Aloha Resort. Although it's a little far out for my liking but it was good. A Good opportunity to make new friends and meet up with old ones. I gave Shariff and Tanglin a lift home by cab. Great stuff.
Today I went out with Hui Han, Hao Ling, Magnum, Audrey and Hui Han's and Hao Ling's Mum. We went to the IT fair but we first met up at AMK hub. We had coffee and refreshments at Coffee Bean till 2pm and we went off to Suntec. We had a nice old time chatting merrily. We walked around and searched for Audrey's and Hao Ling's ideal laptops for their new poly lives coming up in April. Julian joined us around 4pm and we searched through the whole fair. We looked at laptops, headphones, portable hard disks and lots of stuff. I got my styluses for my PDA, Hao Ling got his laptop and Julian got a new Ipod Nano 8gb. Audrey is waiting for Saturday to decide what she wants. Likely enough we'll be going back on Saturday. Queer enough, I met some of Pei Yi's friends from the party and Lex gave Hao Ling a good discount on his PC. Had to go for band around 6.45 and arrived at about 7.45.
Hallelujah! Things are starting to look good at last!

Well earlier i was watching some astronomy documentary on the history channel....
It all looks really really sombre for the human race and the rest of the galaxy..
Earth might get smashed by a giant asteroid...nuff said
OR
Earth might be hit by a Gamma Explosion burning us to a cinder and killing most of us with radiation and nuclear winter
OR
The Sun might expand and burn us to a cinder and later freeze us to a snowball
OR
The universe gets too big and the BIG RIP occurs and extinguishes the whole galaxy...sucks huh?
All in all it's pretty sombre if you ask me better make the most of what you have on earth but it seems most of us will be around when the asteroid collision of 2036 might occur. Charming eh?
Not exactly pleasant knowing that there are bigger threats out there then there are down here. Guess life must suck....
Apparently it seems half of the bad things in the world are not out to rob you, ravage your body, steal your possessions or torture you. They all seem out to just extinguish life...that's mighty helpful.
Well for me I think I'm happy knowing I'll only be around when that asteroid occurs but o well it's another 24 years from now. If it happens I hope I've had the best of life already.

Saturday, March 01, 2008Sigh
Well Thursday was just swell…rather miserable amount of people but at least we played. We just gotta carry on….
Next up on the list…Woodwind ensemble performance in about 2 weeks. Time to gear up the troupe for new scores. I've got "In my life" by the beatles scored, the only thing is that there is no flute part cause I don't think we have a flautist anyway. Bass is more important than another melody instrument. Took me a long time to get it done. I must say I enjoyed making the parts for this song.
Next on the list of scores is "Celebration" by Secret Garden or to be more exact Rolf Lovland. I've always wanted to score this for symphonic or small group playing. Guess this is the time.
Now to look for new songs too…
Well work is likely to start sometime next week or the week after depending how fast my application clears HR at Aviva and Achieve.
Damn I'm already feeling sick of the holidays….
I still want my clarity potion with ice….sigh….
